In love with your channel! Love the long content, the fact it’s you speaking and not some AI voice and of course how intelligent the information is. Gonna buckle in and open my mind. Thank you!

Ayn Rand reversed the course of my life, set me on a new trajectory, now I am the happiest and wealthiest I have ever been because I have developed self esteem and deal with everything rationally. Truly, the best thing that has ever happened to me was reading Atlas Shrugged

Thank your for your excellent presentation. You are a talented educator. At age 66 and retired from a satisfying career in corporate finance, your information resonates with me. I read Atlas Shrugged about 25 years ago ... very helpful to me.... in the quest for "clear thinking". To many, religious ideas / group think / conformity profoundly slows ones ability to lead a balanced, fulfilled life. Tragic waste of potential. As Christopher Hitchens put it "Religion poisons everything" (Hitchens book: "god is not great" . There are many RUclipss of "Hitch" . I hope this will be of help to some : )

St Augustine in De Moribus, summarizes why the "trust yourself" philosophy is disingenuous:
_"Thus (believing in God), and not in any other way, and never in any other way, the enemy is defeated. He who tries to fight with his own forces is defeated before the fight begins."_

If you always have God first in your heart and mind, trusting yourself does not preclude trusting God.

@@FloralaBamaRed Hopefully you can watch Venerable Fulton Sheen's sermon about the concept of "kenosis" and realize the huge contradiction in your statement.

Correct, because to use the term "I" is to separate yourself from the universe, when in reality everything is connected. So, the proper mindset moving forward is to instead, remove the concept of "self, I, me" altogether, and allow yourself to be taken over by the flow of life, allowing it to flow in and out of you or in a better term, through you, and experience the positive with the negative and the full spectrum of what it means to be alive in the highest and most vivid sense. You can't anticipate attaining the good, without creating a relationship with that of what is seen as negative as well. Day is met with night, light is met with dark, ying is met with yang, love is met with hate, and to think only of self, is to lose part of that connection. Think in terms of, how does my existence, fit into society best in a way where my gifts are best provided to serve and improve the livelyhood of others and the world around me. Be the change you want to see in the world! Instead of working to have the resources to become a good person, try instead to be a good person with good intentions, to make the most of the journey, because the destination doesn't matter if the pursuit isn't fulfilled and experienced to the fullest. @@saetainlatin

@@JoshBailiffAs much as I want to sympathize with your point of view, unfortunately its invaded by New Age rubbish such as "destroy the self, empty your mind" which is a welcoming to demons (yes they are real). Do not confuse "deny yourself" as Jesus teaches with "let the flow of life do whatever it wants to me".
That godless new-agy point of view is as dangerous as the "trust your self" philosophy.

I recommend you watch exorcist Fr. Chad Ripperger's testimony about the dangers of thinking the way you do.

You can only be true to yourself; if not that, then nothing.

Lots to think of . Really good. People that give up everthing end up most of the time with nothing not even their own mind. Woman have been challenged to sacrifice everthing.

Thats because it is the incorrect way to think the correct way, is to give up your attachment to needing a certain outcome for any action you take or anything in this life. So don't sacrifice everything, but rather, sacrifice your attachment or need to achieve a desired outcome, and simply let life flow through you, with the good as much as the bad. Don't hold on to anything, that can be taken from you, and instead, place your value and attachment into the things we have control over, and that can't be taken from us, which will give you an identity that will never face the risk of being lost, which in turn, will allow life to propel you to the absolute best outcome, as well as providing the space for your gifts to be maximized.
