Great stuff. For over 5 decades I’ve solo wild camped, thoroughly enjoying the solitude.
I retire soon and I’m moving off grid. There will be longer blissful times to embrace this solitude. Appreciate. My favourite word.

Retired, still on the grid but very rural and remote. Watching the absurdity of the world at a distance is very enlightening.

Did you have to wait till you retired? So, you a conformist and opportunist?

Thank you. I have felt a need to embrace solitude since I was in my early twenties, four decades ago. It has enriched my soul and built within me a stength that has helped me weather storms in the world outside. I would not have survived, nor been able to enjoy life in the company of others, without ample boosts of solitude.

The narrator sounds like Bernardo Kastrup, the leading philosopher of metaphysical idealism and one of today’s most refreshing philosophical voices.

Indian monks routinely go to the mountains to be by themselves. They have been doing this for over 5000 years.
