I am 72 years old, and I know when you try to force yourself upon life it’s hard. You need to relax and let things happen and everything will come to you. God will provide
This is not about non action, but right action, optimal balance between action and rest. It is not about "not trying", but knowing when to stop, when to retreat. Water can be brutal, forceful, as in Tsunamis and major floods.
Good point, about water being forceful as well. I didn't think of that. As for non-action vs right action... It's another way of putting it, and it explains the flow from another perspective. Thank you.
Yeah, it means don't force your way, rather go with the flow. Like don't swim upstream, rather get a ride downstream. Don't strain or busy yourself creating action plans, rather be still and connect to what happens and get carried along, naturally and easily.
The most prolific musicians and artists I’ve ever known were the calmest and most serene individuals I’ve ever met. I initially found this paradoxical and slowly realized it was precisely why they got so much accomplished. For those curious, I highly recommend Manly P. Hall’s “Intensity without Tension” lectures that can be found on RUclips. PS: this video is phenomenal and I have listened to it 7 times. I am reevaluating my approach to life and this is the soundtrack.
I have never believed in hitting your head against a brick wall. Just go around, climb over, dig under, or sit and admire the bricks. It's a brick wall it is there for a reason. You don't have to be there. The art of side stepping is my biggest asset.
I’ve been flowing the lead of ancient Stoicism and Zen Buddhism lately and really have discovered the power of letting go, being quiet and sometimes just being. It’s so good to see the reflections of this in so many other philosophies and beliefs. I truly feel the real world is in harmony with itself when we discover a ‘way’ is universal regardless of religious ethnic or any other learned belief. Thanks for this video, I got so much out of this.🔆❄️🙏🏼
I’ve subconsciously been aware of this philosophy but never practice it. In fact I told someone recently “Stop donig and just be. The doing will take care of itself” Fascinating. Now that I’m consciously aware of it maybe I’ll start practicing it. Thanks.

I absolutely loved this reflection of eastern beliefs vs western culture and the metaphor of the river and water that constantly flows, even if obstructed. This has been a big learning for me to let go of the doing and surrendering. My doing nature, wasn’t comfortable with this. Since I started letting go, my life has brought me amazing connections and opportunities that I am so overwhelmed and grateful to receive. I also loved Amir’s soothing voice.
My mother was like this (referring to her as Yoda). And I'm a lot like my mother. On the other hand my father was just the opposite. And I come to this conclusion at a young age not to act so much like my father but to embrace my mothers balance being ⚖️☺️

In "The Art of Not Trying," Lao Tzu's intellect shines brilliantly. His profound wisdom transcends time, offering timeless insights into the essence of existence. Through simplicity and effortless grace, he unveils the path to true understanding, guiding us to embrace the harmony of the universe. Lao Tzu's teachings exemplify the power of inner peace and wisdom, illuminating the art of living without striving.
I Was tired of looking for Jobs in several plataforms. I went to work the land with ny Hands. I spent 6 weeks learning about Lisianthus in San Felix Hidalgo, Atlixco. Every morning i went to the greenhouse to prepare the soil, cut the "esquejes' and place them in their litle plastic cups covered with plastic. After many trials to have the correct humidity, I finally left behind 97 waiting for life to allow their roots to come. No paid salary. Just the flow and reverence to interact with the plant, así for permission to cut, and while introducing the stick in the soil, thanking them for their new roots Was sufficient for my peace of mind and meaning....Flow was there Every step of the process. Thanks for your video. It made me aware of my new relationship with water.
Good video, but there's nothing specific here. I recommend everyone to find the forbidden book Whispers of Manifestation on Borlest you'll be shocked by the secret attraction techniques it contains
Essentially, this is karma yoga in my opinion. Correct me if I’m wrong. There is a beautiful book called The Surrender Experiment. In this book, the author narrates how from a philosophy student, he becomes a CEO of a technology company by going with the flow, without resisting anything.
Being in the flow as an athlete was easy to understand. I was a skier for 40 years and when everything "clicked" the universe was perfectly aligned. I was addicted to that feeling and at times it did not help the other facets of my life (arrested development). Now, seeking that same kind of aura or state of consciousness, I find myself a bit lost at times. I will continue to gently allow things to come and go as they do naturally. I am grateful for your insightful posts here on the web,

Talk about without effortless and being in the flow, I nearly cried yesterday as I asked Google to find me my cottage. I was lead to a site and the first picture was my cottage. It is advertised as a room to rent in the 2 bedroom cottage, but I don’t care, ask and ye shall be given. But there’s more! 2 weeks prior to this amazing find I drew the interior of the cottage I wanted, I put everything in it and the layout I wanted. And every night I walked through it, room to room and envisaged me in it. The one I found It’s not identical but so close. Just below me away. Thank you for sharing this amazing video.

That perfect flow can only be achieved when one acknowledges that there is a greater grander will at play , above and beyond our own free will. Only with this realization can we bring ourselves to respect and align ourselves with " the flow " rather than force or attempt to take control of the flow.
Easy does it. My wise late mother was a strong believer of this technique or strategy of philosophy or attitude of "easy does it". Thank you so much for these golden Ancient wisdom. Peace and blessings to all!
This resonated with me so deeply as this is EXACTLY where I Am in my life. I understand Masters Lao Tzu and Bruce Lee on a much deeper level, "Be Like Water". Such wisdom, Wu Wei. Thank you for this video. This is timeless.
Flow state is a state where you cease self doubting, double checking, where you won’t mind if there is a bulldozer operating near you home, you are still completely immersed in what you are doing without any effort taken to focus on doing so.
This is another sort of therapy on the Web that will be forgotten soon. All say the same in different words, a strategy to make money. Marketing industry.
nonjudgemental alertess ,observership of own actions and reactions, just being oneself undisturbed by daily ups and downs, lack of suffering mood swings in difficult times and right actions follow.
This is one of the most beautiful renderings of the philosophic principle of wu wei (also referred to as The Way); a truly wise interpretation; great literature & animation! Thank you so very much!❤
At most I let what’s unseen just be, You might not understand me and think she’s just lazy maybe. But when I’m at my most peace and let surrender take over me that’s when I feel most at ease, watching the life I live unfold before me, just to see gods confirmation surround me. Not saying action won’t lead you to the place you guaranteed. I’m just saying, I’ll be lying if I said I wasn’t planting seeds. Just understand as I tended to my garden before this prior ease. The forces of growth only scared my precious seeds. Stunting its growth in the form of anxiety, chaos blazing inside of me. That’s why I say to you… Just let it be. - I got inspired and created this poem. Thanks for the video 💗
I took an art history class which travelled around Italy. We visited Venice for three days. When not with the class, my friend and I just walked. We walked for hours on each of the three days. My favorite part of the trip. I loved that you included a similar story. It brought me back to those wonderful days.
This is an incredibly good and wholesome video, thank you. This is something that everyone should hear. Ive been able to find a lot more peace since listening to this.
My favorite vacations I spent hitch hiking with just a vague direction in mind. Going wherever chance would take me. Or driving a campervan through France, deliberately taking roads so small they weren't even on the map, taking us to beautiful and surprising places. In daily life though, I often get stuck in in-action. Being not at all in the flow. This is a beautiful video. Well thought out, well written and well delivered. Thank you.
Balance! Balance! Balance is necessary to live a healthy and happy life. Thank you! This lesson about Taoism is golden. Peace, balance, good health and joy to all.
Life lesson learned - try to ease up and let things happen in their own time. Believe that you will receive what you need when the time is right. Pushing too hard against life's flow can be challenging. Everything will balance and flow, whether you resist or try to force things.
When I used to play baseball, when hitting, if I had two strikes on me, I would grind my teeth, tense my arms up and try to smack the ball for a homer. I would usually just strike out because the tension in my body didn't allow me to swing in a nice, fluid motion and make contact with the ball. I was so focused on NOT striking out instead of just making contact with the ball.
“Life well lived,”was the perfect echo to leave with us all. My journey has been decades creating with you on this planet we call earth. The rhythm by which everything was created is the energy that gives us our sensory system and the ability to create. Thank you for sharing and tapping into DIVINE SOURCE ENERGY that will transform so many beings.✨✨🙏🏽🙏🏽Ashe’
Yes very true, use the energy of the situation against itself, eye to hand coordination instinctively, things come to you, no need to chase, laidback approach, like water cutting granite, I didn’t know what I was doing but I was just being myself from a small child, it’s just peaceful, watching, listening, and learning more, I’ve always wondered why I was different, I’m in the UK though, since the internet come along like this I’m starting to learn where it comes from Thanks for more enlightenment ❤👍
I paused my search for understanding my continuing separation from my lover, to listen to your insights on Wu Wei ... while I cook. I found my flow again. Thats when I discovered my real connection with him, and his love flooded my heart. Thank you.
Unknowingly I have been following this for few years now. I realised you need to wait for the right moment to convey your thoughts to someone so that they understand it well
Beautiful teaching. I think Wu Wei is best understood if you think of life as operating on two levels. This level, the level of the world, is a world of form. A deeper level, the level of the mind, has two thoughts - one of love, one of fear. Wu Wei is choosing love, allowing that to inform your life. Then life just flows. But Wu Wei is still experienced here in the world. Therefore, it must be limited. The truly enlightened person understands that they are not a person at all; they are a thought in the mind that appears to be in the world. This is a subtle but profound difference. As such the purpose of life is not just to access Wu Wei, but to allow it to guide you back to your mind and your true identity as a thought of love, which ultimately leads to the awareness of perfect oneness with God. Here the journey ends. With Wu Wei as a beautiful step along it.
I worked hard for everything I have, even my precious working experience came for a painful hard work. Now I enjoy easy breathy job, and sometimes I think the Universe wants to return to me, bc something else harder was coming my way…taking care of my elderly mom. There is pain and pleasure, hard work,, deception, love, silent hate, commitment, endless commitment, in the process every minute is worth living bc we are growing in the process, another gift from the Universe ✨🙏✨
I heard J.Krhistnamurti speak on this. I was also told by a certain culture who told me to work smart, not hard.As humans we should make a clean slate and reprogram ourselves.
There's even an application of this that Christianity I think could be said to express this idea, in the sabbath and in trusting and resting, and the ultimate form of trusting and resting; Titus 3: 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Not trying to force or bribe God to save us and make us righteous before him by our own works, but by receiving it, through faith, as a free gift by grace. Being justified by cleansing coming down from above, not by upwards striving and struggling in our own efforts. One that allows us to be active out in the world in harmony with heaven, in pure hope and thankfulness for what Christ has done for us, not relying in or worrying about things we do that we could boast in.
I remember when I went through a ‘dark night of the soul’. Had finally managed to get rid of an abusive partner, I was in a low place, suffering from trauma and depression. I started going into myself and listening to meditations and binaural beats. I said to myself I didn’t want a partner, wasn’t looking, I wasn’t interested in going out and ‘looking’. I just wanted to concentrate on myself. I literally said, “I’m not going anywhere or doing anything” and I became content to be like that. Not long after, an old associate of the opposite sex reached out to me. He had been through similar, we weren’t looking for love but one thing led to another and now, 7 years later we are happily married and have a beautiful daughter. By doing nothing, I allowed the space for the right things to flow to me ❤
There is something in this philosophy but seems we are far away of really understanding it. It’s like playing the game efortlesly, winning the game again and again, embracing the flow state and energy, beeing unstopable. And tomorrow you cannot be even close to that state but you know it wasn’t just the luck :)
I’m very lucky to have stumbled on this great philosophy of Wu Wei. It’ll help me a lot. I deeply believe this principle is what I have been using most in my life though I’ve never heard about wu wei. It’s help me to achieve efficient results in my academics, job and relationships. I often thought it was one of the advantages of procrastination and Faith. But now I understand it’s about aligning oneself with the flow of nature.

The watching of this video.. pure Wu Weí at work! Sat down to rest and take some sun, and opened RUclips just to let it take me to whatever.. then this video appeared, and intuition led me to click on it. Now taken into this wonderful journey and lesson, I want to put this more into practice from now on in my daily life. Great video, thank you! 💗
Thete is a saying in Hinduism which puts the distilled essense of this video. It says that : God always wishes the best for his creation, the Humans . Hence Life becomes naturally fulfilling if we go by two dictums: a) If what we try for the happens, it is "God's Blessing" and an indicator that it was so ordained. b) If it does not, it is "God's Will" which is this way telling us that we need to let it be and he guides us to what would be best for us. In Hindi and Sanskrit this stated as " Hua to Hari Kripa nahin to Hari Iksha". So aligning with Hari Iksha bestows his Kripa on you automatically and your purpose is achieved since it aligns with His purpose for you
Greg, thanks a ton for this video! For beginners like me who are super confused about affiliate marketing, this video is very cleanly explained. The pace, the content curation everything seems by far the best! I am clear with the concept now. Thanks again!
As an ex pro sprinter, i can testify to this. The more i tried the slower i would run as i used brute force to the finish line. Conversely, when i surrendered to just being present and without trying to control the outcome of the race i would enter into flow state - the trick being present and allowing the finishline to come to you without dipping for the finishline.
I live my life a specific way and it blows my mind the more I learn about Taoism the more I realize I've been drawn to this ancient idea since childhood. It blows my families minds that I don't seek a $300,000 house, kids, or a wife. It makes no sense to them how I'm successful without spending that money on things that others spend their money on.
Just wanted to mention, since you bring up Zen, and seem to imply that it originated in Japan at about 6:30: Zen actually originated in China, where it was known as Chan, founded by the legendary Bodhidharma, who was a Buddhist monk who traveled to China from India. And yes, Chan/Zen is widely regarded as a type of fusion of Buddhism and Taoism.
Even if you try, there is no control whatsoever. It will flow how it flows. The answer is to fully let go, but even this is not possible. It will flow how it flows. Even your trying part is in the flow.
I challenged my self this year how many shows could I perform I did it because I needed more money to help my self and friends that are less fortunate than me went into burn out and now I have learned my limitations which as a wise thing to learn and embrace l resonate so much to this video I made enough money to get through the winter and have cut my work load by have learning to work smart and prioritise what concert must be given the most attention is vital because when you are a performer it's all about the quality of the performance I don't regret my challenge because wisdom came from it do not rush towards a finishing line try to live in the moment what ever comes your way be a problem solver don't be the problem or blame shift take your part of responsibility for every thing you go through and the journey is more beneficial I have performing for over 32 years and I'm still on the journey we all have different journeys what ever you chose own it live in an open and keep your ears open ❤
This sounds similar to the teaching of trust in the Divine LORD's way for our life. We give Him the glory for working in our life as we surrender our wills unto Him!
This Dude abides and lives by this wisdom.. Frustrating others endlessly cause they don't understand nor relate.. This is the way! Nothing is not easy. Like being an alcoholic, if it was easy everyone would be.. Tengri keeps me company
If you are pursueing your Dhamma or life purpose everything you do is effortless . If your constantly trying hard and battling then jts probably not your path. Knowing when to stop iscas important as knowing when to start

Both action and non action are extremely valuable, true wisdom is knowing when to exercise them

The forces of growth only scared my precious seeds. Stunting its growth in the form of anxiety, chaos blazing inside of me. That’s why I say to you…
Just let it be.

I am visiting Italy next year. Hope it will be a trip to remember like yours😊

I accept you
I respect you
I understand you
You are a beautiful soul
Life lesson learned - try to ease up and let things happen in their own time. Believe that you will receive what you need when the time is right. Pushing too hard against life's flow can be challenging. Everything will balance and flow, whether you resist or try to force things.
When I used to play baseball, when hitting, if I had two strikes on me, I would grind my teeth, tense my arms up and try to smack the ball for a homer. I would usually just strike out because the tension in my body didn't allow me to swing in a nice, fluid motion and make contact with the ball. I was so focused on NOT striking out instead of just making contact with the ball.

I gave up fighting and demanding of the universe and we have been friendly ever since

Thank you so much.May Allah bless you in abundance and grant you all the good of this world and the hereafter.
It's like that saying goes, work smarter not harder.
Yes very true, use the energy of the situation against itself, eye to hand coordination instinctively, things come to you, no need to chase, laidback approach, like water cutting granite, I didn’t know what I was doing but I was just being myself from a small child, it’s just peaceful, watching, listening, and learning more, I’ve always wondered why I was different, I’m in the UK though, since the internet come along like this I’m starting to learn where it comes from
Thanks for more enlightenment ❤👍
This is the most beautiful explanation I never found about Wu Wei in RUclips. Thank you so much. My regards from Chile
I paused my search for understanding my continuing separation from my lover, to listen to your insights on Wu Wei ... while I cook. I found my flow again. Thats when I discovered my real connection with him, and his love flooded my heart. Thank you.
Very nice. For the past 30yrs I have been living like this not knowing it is Wu Wei
Beautifully done piece: i didn't want it to end.
This is soooooo amazing- enlightening- realising- truthful- every sentence a relevation, wisdom in a nutshell!! Wow!!!!! ❤️
100% agree
The narrator voice in this is so inspiring and relaxing. Very feng sheui ❤

Don't go with the Flow,
Be the FLOW!
Love this video! I became aware of wu weí several years ago and have been allowing this practice into my existence since then. 💜💜💜
There's even an application of this that Christianity I think could be said to express this idea, in the sabbath and in trusting and resting, and the ultimate form of trusting and resting;
Titus 3:
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

By doing nothing, I allowed the space for the right things to flow to me ❤
I have been living this all my life. I always try to not do things and yet always I am propelled towards success
I'm so lucky that I now live a life of quiet contemplation mostly in nature
Much wealth and wisdom to all

Estern philosophy is amazing. I appreciate the Japanese way of service to mastering one task but never mastering it. I love that
Thank you so much for this video! I love it and start my day with it everyday. May God bless you and thank you for being a blessing
But now I understand it’s about aligning oneself with the flow of nature.
you are right i agree with you

The watching of this video.. pure Wu Weí at work!
Sat down to rest and take some sun, and opened RUclips just to let it take me to whatever.. then this video appeared, and intuition led me to click on it. Now taken into this wonderful journey and lesson, I want to put this more into practice from now on in my daily life. Great video, thank you! 💗

Thete is a saying in Hinduism which puts the distilled essense of this video.
It says that :
God always wishes the best for his creation, the Humans . Hence Life becomes naturally fulfilling if we go by two dictums:
a) If what we try for the happens, it is "God's Blessing" and an indicator that it was so ordained.
b) If it does not, it is "God's Will" which is this way telling us that we need to let it be and he guides us to what would be best for us.
In Hindi and Sanskrit this stated as " Hua to Hari Kripa nahin to Hari Iksha".
So aligning with Hari Iksha bestows his Kripa on you automatically and your purpose is achieved since it aligns with His purpose for you
Thank you. It couldn’t have come in a most adequate moment. It’s given me answers and relief❤

So.....what DO you spend it on?
This was so incredibly well done. I'm impressed, grateful and now subscribed.
What a beautiful and wonderful message and teaching. Thank you and looking forward for more.
Thank you for this beautiful explanation of wu wei. Very well done. I thoroughly enjoyed it❤
I never leave comments on videos, but this was absolutely beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to create and share this with others. ❤
I absolutely agree. Well said. A beautiful lecture. I feel like I can breathe again.
And so needed to hear it now.
Really awakening to most who hear...for the first time.
Thank you beautifully written TRUTHS❤!
This video about Wu Wei is just the medicine my being needs right now! Thank you!
This sounds similar to the teaching of trust in the Divine LORD's way for our life. We give Him the glory for working in our life as we surrender our wills unto Him!
