      Hey pastor Doug I'm going to college at RBC and I'm diving into covenant theology. You have convinced me of theonomy long ago but I am wondering about about that shows the relationship between the two.

      No. The biggest problem is humans judging and making laws they have no right to do so. If we believe God is in charge, we need to leave authority to Him, without getting in the way. We lack enormous amounts of faith in this concept... badly.
      God said "Vengeance is mine and I will repay." Why can't we just believe Him?

    When the insanity passes, as it has to, I hope it isn't replaced by the next insanity. Let us work to prevent that.
    The absence of one evil is not necessarily goodness.

    • @maggieprice357
      @maggieprice357 2 года назад +5

      I agree and I know Pastor Doug does as well. He talks about that on his Blog and Mablog on red pill anger. We do need to be careful because oftentimes after a massive insanity in a culture such as this, there is a huge swing in the other direction to a degree that isn’t biblical and the people who touted the old insane belief are often tarred and feathered by the public. We need to resist this urge as a society when all of this comes crashing, and it needs to be Christians who take the helm because only solid Christians will have the ability to lead in a time like that.
      This definitely won’t end well for the leftist revolutionists. They will probably have a good run for quite a long time, but their insanity is not sustainable and they will eventually be overthrown by a very angry public.

    I would be curious to hear why you disagree that the 14th amendment makes the prescription of the Establishment Clause enforceable against the States to prevent a modern establishment of a religion. The theory is the the 14th amendment prohibits the States from abridriging the rights of people as citizens iof the United States, and the courts have therefore been saying that the States are limited by provisions of the Bill of Rights (although not every jot and tiddle of the Bill of Rights). It's the same theory that protects the Second Amendment from burdensome State and local gun laws.

    Where is the Christian political stance in a compact format? Surely there could be a sort of ecclesiastical agreement, on many points, if not all, on a state level, and on a national level.

    The thing about Christendom is that it doesn't do any good for the Christian's practicing the Christian faith. If you haven't read Soren Kierkegaard on this, you need to. When you make Christianity easy and convenient, it makes Christians soft and cultural Christianity is born. This is not a call for persecution, nobody would ask for that, but it is a call to stay true to our actual mission.

    I wanted to stay interested in this, I really did. I see the circus in secularism to be only slightly worst than in the church. I’m 54 years old and Woke up one day went to church around noon to listen to a preacher that did a monologue similar to those at the comic bars, reading a bible that was wrote by a dime store novelist, sing songs that were written by the same people that wrote songs for Madona and U2. My fellow congregation drank, smoked, and cussed and told me to not judge. They work 60 hour work weeks, paid taxes and got divorced with a string of broken children scattered everywhere. I don’t see a solution for this. I think it’s all gone.

    I consider myself an atheist but appreciate the carefully crafted intelligent way this man has formulated his various stances. It is interesting that atheists and Christians seem to have an increased commonality amongst the modern madness. There is a growing acceptance of the common ground both parties walk on.

      Sounds like you're just riding the title Christian for Prestige and brownie points. Then to dissavow to impress people that really just don't give a s*** about you anyways.
      I've been there friend. It is a very very lonely place to be. Lying to fit in with both parties and ultimately alienating yourself from all.
      I can't give you any pointers on how I got out of it because it may not work for you. And everyone is different.
      I will pray for you however.

    Sola Christendom
    We are to allow so journers in Christian lands but God clearly states no high places or temples shall be set up to other God's. So Jews and Muslims aren't to be persecuted but they are not supposed to be allowed to practice in Christian lands

      Government will serve a god, we should desire it serves Yahweh, don't see why this is controversial. The church is the light of the world. Abortion, transgenderism, children switching genders, blasphemy, homosexuality, these are the fruits of a Godless nation. Does the church have no responsibility to change this? The Great Commission makes this clear, "teaching them to observe all I have commanded you.."

      @James Ramelli Will you take a moment to read?
      6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
      7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
      8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
      9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.
      10 And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.
      11 And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.
      12 And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.
      13 And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.
      14 And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.
      15 And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.
      16 And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.
      17 He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.
      18 And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.
      19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;
      20 That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.
      21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD.
      22 And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.
      - 1 Samuel, Chapter 8.
