As someone currently trying to peel pearl onions this made me laugh
I'd be interested to see a side-by-side blind taste test of these vs fresh peeled before going the easy route.

Well im trying this!!!! We grow onions and some come up pearl sized and i refuse to waste them. This could be amazing!
I thought this was going to be about how they have a thinner and maybe edible skin like how some fish are like with their bones
Unfortunately one must peel pearl onions when pickling them, frozen ones have too much cellular damage to be viable.

I've done both. I don't mind peeling them. The frozen ones have a weird texture.
Par boil and they pop right out with a little squeeze. If you're making soup or stew it's nothing.
I'd rather save the $5 and just peel em by hand in front of the TV like I do garlic

cut the root off the onions, blanch 30 sec, ice water then squeeze and the inside comes out.
buying frozen is fine if its for a boeuf or whatever, but if you’re serving them raw, pickled etc use fresh onions

I honestly do not understand how this man who did theatre as a kid, and sounds and looks like that has a wife and two kids. I just think someone's kidding themselves.
