Two years ago, the vet told my daughter that her dog have about 8 weeks to live. And he was right. Levi was dying fast.
I convinced her to switch him to a raw meat diet. Levi is still with us and spunky as ever two years later. He shows no signs of leaving us any time soon.

With time my other cats went to pure meat with great results they got thinner and way more active and playful. They mainly eat cow's heart

I saw a news program where a woman claimed her dog was purely vegan and preferred it. The show hosts put vegan dog food in a dish on one side and a plate of meat on another and set the dog free to see what he’d choose. Dog trots over to his “normal” food and then sees the meat in the other plate and immediately turned to the meat and began woofing it down. I got a cackle out of that.

My cat was peeing blood on processed cat food. He actually stopped eating and was acting like he was gonna die. I started feeding him raw fish, chicken thighs, and chicken giblets (I do grind it up). He (my cat) stopped peeing blood. His kidneys recovered, and he's now 3 years older, and he plays with our 1 year old kittens. He is 13. He gets zoomies, and he's a sweet boy now. He used to be cranky and fat. Oh, he lost his fat, too. My husband now calls him an "Absolute Unit." The animals are all on the raw diet. They don't have eye goobers or pot bellies. Also, we have a 13 year old coydog, and she is now a healthy weight/stopped losing teeth. On processed dog food, she refused to eat most days. She was underweight her whole life. Until she got ground beef every day. She has lots less drama now too. She used to be so skittish. Now, if she acts weird, we know a storm is coming. Before, it could be anything that set her off...

I just started feeding my obese cat a "carnivore" diet, about two months ago. I tried raw but he wouldn't eat it, so I just thought, ok, I'll do all meats, but cooked......how could that be worst than "big food" pet food? Anyway, I got a good recipe on the web, with all the added supplements (and fats) to be sure he gets what he needs. He has lost 2 lbs!! He is no longer obese, his pain (arthritis) in his hips doesn't seem to be causing him pain anymore, and he has a bounce in his step!!! He was really suffering being over weight and now I feel that he has a new lease on life! Oh, and he loves his food and isn't asking for food all day like he used to, he seems more satiated now with his regular meals. That said he didn't have to suffer a "diet" by food reduction, I just fed him real food (meat), and he never goes hungry, he just naturally eats only what he needs!

We were feeding our feral cats with tinned catfood, initially, but although clearly hungry, they just picked at the food. Then one of them developed lumps on his neck, and started to lose his fur. The Vet was stumped, after weeks of trying everything he knew, but the cat kept deteriorating. Finally, we decided to go back to feeding cats what we saw them eat when we were growing up, which was raw meat, and within a couple of weeks, our cat started to recover. Within a couple of months, he was healthy and strong again, and his fur grew back. The other ferals improved, with stronger builds, and better coats. They are all strong and healthy now, and never sick, even in severe weather. We learned our lesson, and then addressed our own diet, to make big changes.

Don’t beat yourself up. You did what you thought was best with the knowledge you had at the time. Cats are better to eat canned food, even the cheapest crappy is canned food, then they are kibble. Dry food causes kidney failure. Cats are harder to transition to a raw diet but they benefit from it greatly. I’ve been feeding Raw for over 20 years now. Your next kitty cat will greatly appreciate a proper diet. I was in his (hospital) room when the doctor said this and also told my friend to eat as much sugary food as possible because he was feeding for two now (himself and the cancer I presume) and he needs the sugar for energy to help him fight the cancer! Dogs that eat raw eggs often turn into chickens, and chickens -- like the elderly -- turn into little psychos around small children.
You can test your dog, to see if it's turning: just before dawn, start clucking. If your dog starts strutting about, it's a male, he's turning into a rooster, and you'd best flee, unless you want to start laying eggs of your own (cough-cough).
If your dog's a female, do the clucking, flap your arms a bit, then lift one of her hind legs. If you find a new, warm egg, welp, you've got either scrambled eggs, or hush puppies -- and a decision to make.

Granted, uncooked meat has a greater chance of passing on parasites than cooked meat, but I doubt whether humans have ANY problem digesting it. Mind you, with a pH of 2 or LESS, surely there can't be TOO many parasites that could survive THAT level of acidity?

Did the same 8-9 years ago. Vet balked at raw diet. My two have done fine. Unfortunately I lost one to cryptococcus fungus after a four year battle. It’s a hideous thing and is more common in the southern states and few vets in New England know little about it.
Being blind and deaf 4 out of 8 years was nothing but agony for me and a few friends. The most important thing was finding how important fat was in her diet. Organ failure caught up with her and she just stopped eating in a week or so.
Otherwise a raw diet with bones, fat and fatty meat, eggs, homemade yogurt, and a sprinkle of ground eggshells and sea kelp (for iodine) works great. I strive to eat like them. Can’t manage the bones but I make a lot of bone broth from neck bones. Most are loaded with collagen tissues and are pretty soothing as a morning eye opener.
Btw… that vet looks like he needs the carnivore diet these days. Not aging well.

Wow! I'm sitting here watching the screen with the prevention article up and looking at the ads that they have on their web page. They actually have ads for pharmaceutical drugs. So we know where their cash is coming from and who has a vested interest in what they say..... really disappointing because prevention used to be the Benchmark for Natural Health and now it's just another tool for the industry.

It always boggles my mind that people make these big claims of health problems with Keto and Carnivore but its not from actual cases or studies of people with these diets ever actually having these health problems. They instead assume that with the "conventional health" info to be true it must then follow that these health problems must exist. However, since literally none of them have come to fruition with many 10s of thousands of case studies you'd think they'd get off their high horse.

You don't have to go back very far to find people who primaraly ate animals. My grandparents on both sides of my family who were completely different from eachother in the terms of culture ate mostly animals. My mothers family were mountain people into the 1960s and ate all kinds of game and fish. They were always hunting, fishing and traping. My father's family were river valley people into the 1980s and raised their own livestock for consumption. Pigs, cows, chickens, sheep and the like. They grew some vegtables but were very limited in what was grown. All of them lived into their mid 90s. They ate eggs cooked in bacon greese everyday of their lives. I'm not convinced that these modern doctors and reserchers have anything right about health and diet. The more they "reserch", the younger people die and die of things that wern't a problem before. Our colleges are failing and are making things up out of thin air for the reserch money. They don't care about truth. They make more money on "looking" for cures than they do "finding" cures. I would rather die of a heart attack than to die fat, blind and missing a foot in a hospital that is trying to soak up all the money thay can before I die.

I prepared myself, then I researched and started making all his food from scratch, yes it was more expensive but worth it. Within 3 months his tumor that was about the size of an orange shrunk to the size of an almond. It never went away completely but he lived another 4 years. Now of course I have no way to prove that changing his diet made him live longer but he didn't die from cancer and he made it to 13, so that's all the proof I need.
