Cancer is the great equalizer. It's a bit like being on a team you never wanted to be on.

Exactly; we all have the same goal, even if our teammates are all very different people.

Mike, these are Important emotions for those in the cancer community and the rest of the world to ponder. I hope you continue to live a long, cancer free, lucky life. I am sending love and hugs.❤❤

Hi Mike. I've been watching your story. My husband was diagnosed 2 months ago with metastatic squamous cell carcinoma. Basically HPV that turned into cancer in the L tonsil and spread to left lymphnodes in neck. Set.to start chemo and radiation in a couple days. We are about the same age so your story really inspired me to share with my husband. I'll be honest I'm scared for him to see what he will go through and scared as a family for our young children. Thank you for being so transparent. I'm going to share more of your videos with my Husband, Dave.

Hey Michelle! Sucks to hear about the the diagnosis, but hopefully it is treatable and he doesn't suffer too badly. It's miserable mentally for everyone involved (or at least, a lot of the time), and please make sure to take care of your mental health alongside your children and his. I've found that talking about it is the best medicine for my mental health, but everyone is different - and I mean that for all members of your family. Hoping the best for you, and I'm always here to chat if you want. ❤️

I’ve been redesigned by bowel cancer, living with technically no disease but still abnormal marker levels. One friend who had her surgery just before me has just been given months to live, and we are doing all we can to continue to live.
So I’m struggling with the concept that the wonderful friend who took me to my appointments, came to the anaesthetic room, made me soup, included me in all her family activities to help me heal, chose to end her own life out of the blue as far as we all, friends and family, knew. Just makes me want to fight to live all the more. 😢

Hey! Had missed this comment... went MIA for a bit, as my body might be putting me back in jail again. It also might not be, but I'm still getting after the good stuff either way. Hopefully it's not a recurrence, but I'll let you know. Byyyyyeee ❤️

Love the scarf....and the story behind it. It is so wild how we can "meet" and connect with people in this virtual realm. Chances are highly unlikely we will ever meet in person in this realm but I always look forward to hearing from you. And you know when you dont post for awhile i start to worry 😉. I am here for your journey and will continue to root for you from the sidelines on the other side of the USA. Sending you all the best well wishes. Take care until next time.... byyyyeeee.

You're among the people I think of when I feel fortunate about the people I've met through this experience. You're so damn kind and caring - I always appreciate the concern when I become a slacker 😂
      Hope you're doing well, too.
      Byyyyyeeee!

Hi Mike, I’m so frustrated this morning mid treatment and not being able to get rid of this horrible taste in my mouth. The melanoma treatment was so easy compared to the breast cancer treatment. What I find so frustrating about cancer is all the chaotic information about who lives and who doesn’t and to treat or not to treat…to diet or not to diet…you can never make sense or form any patterns about outcomes, I’m not sure if it’s miracles or destinies., I know each persons journey is unique and their own. I’m just so overwhelmed with the bombardment of non stop information, which gives constant anxiety about am I on the right track and doing the right things. What works for some people, doesn’t work for others. Trying to keep calm and heart centered and focused amongst all the fear is the hardest part of this journey. It’s so easy to feel jealous and bitter amongst hard times. 😢

Cancer is unfortunately just an extension of life - there are examples and guidelines, but not usually a ‘correct’ answer that suits everyone.
I’ve decided that trusting my oncology team along with trying to live a relatively healthy lifestyle is my best option at health and happiness. I say relatively because I’m not doing any crazy diets - I try to eat very healthy meals for the most part, but I eat sugar or have a drink every now and then.
I work out like crazy, drink a lot of water, sleep a lot. I think this helps, but I’ll never truly know. You’re right, the information is chaotic - I try to bring reasonable ideas, but always emphasize that we’re all kinda guessing.
      Very relatable thought ❤️

    Great points and thoughts!
I like to think of it like everyone vs the patriots or everyone vs people who drive slow in the fast lane or everyone vs burritos costing $15
