I love this dish. We used to have a tiny Japanese restaurant run by a Japanese family that served everyday Japanese family food. No sushi, no teriyaki, no tempura, etc. This was one of the dishes I always ordered. I was so sad when they closed for good. Not sure why because they always had a waiting line outside. Haven't found another restaurant like it since. One would think in a culinary city like San Francisco there would be plenty. Anyway, now I can make this myself at home. Thank you!
I lived in Los Angeles for many years. But, I know only a few places serve Japanese everyday dishes like Shogayaki. I heard there used to be more of those restaurants back in eighty's, but they didn't become popular, and they eventually closed.

Great, detailed and delicious recipe, arigato! I would add some rice vinegar and S&B chili to the cabbage. Where I lived in Nakasu, Fukuoka on and off for years we had a great restaurant named Kunihiro just nearby, but it is common name. I think it is still there.

I made this dish about a couple of months ago, and I followed another recipe, but my friend and I really liked it. I remember having this in Japan when I lived there for a couple of years. Watching a video is not the same as taking a lesson in a kitchen, but I think you could give workshops on cooking. One more thing: Your English is really quite good. You've achieved a strong level in speaking, so I'm impressed (as I am an English teacher).🤓

Great, detailed and delicious recipe, arigato! I would add some rice vinegar and S&B chili to the cabbage. Where I lived in Nakasu, Fukuoka on and off for years we had a great restaurant named Kunihiro just nearby, but it is common name. I think it is still there.

Wow, I really like how you give such clear instructions and give reasons for them. It makes it more informative and valuable. I made this dish about a couple of months ago, and I followed another recipe, but my friend and I really liked it. I remember having this in Japan when I lived there for a couple of years. Watching a video is not the same as taking a lesson in a kitchen, but I think you could give workshops on cooking. One more thing: Your English is really quite good. You've achieved a strong level in speaking, so I'm impressed (as I am an English teacher).🤓
