If you are going to operate as a CDL I suggest having dually. So you don’t overload you axles with the heavier loads.

From my experience and who I’ve dealt with directly, hotshot107 is the company I would recommend.
When leased do you work on your own time meaning i choose the loads or am i obligated to do every single load the company throws my way

Question? My dad his an owner operator his own rig and trailer with his insurance can I just jump in his insurance ? Can I just lease on to his insurance can use his mc-dot numbers
Yes you can lease on to his authority or you can be his driver but you will need to be added to his insurance, have your own eld etc.
if you do not have a cdl you can not be over 26.000 pounds. This includes truck trailer and what ever is on the trailer correct?

I have a question, when you start with leasing On , that means you only need the truck & trailer ?
Yeah bro pretty much. You’ll still need to get a medical card, insurance for the equipment and your own securement items.
I'm starting by leasing on as an owner operator. I get mixed answers on insurance. People say I need to be under authority insurance and some say I can have my own. I've read that owner operators have basic insurance only. I need a straight answer. As an owner operator that is leasing on do I need my own insurance or do I need to be under authority insurance? Where can I find more info on this?
If you are considering leasing on to a company the only insurance they will likely offer you is the commercial liability of 1,000,000 and Cargo of 100,000. Still, you are responsible for bobtail/Physical insurance for your truck and trailer.

You need cdl for 40ft and I believe over 35 so do your own dd
You don’t beed a CDL for 40ft or over 35ft if your total length is no more than 65ft so do your own dd
@@HotshotMacc well according to Florida statue it’s 53ft depending on weight and permit… considering the weight of a 40ft varies also the load that could be accompanied … I was told to be safe and not hassle not to go over 35ft
Well you do that within your state! I go by DOT guidelines.

Yes, but this is best discussed with you CPA

I'm no pro, just learning but I've seen companies that say this is an option but you must be upfront with them that it is your intention.
