I open my china hutch monthly now because of your vidoes. In thrift stores I now instantly look at the back of paintings and don't focus on signature! You've taught all your viewers so much!
Thanks Kellie, happy you are enjoying the vids. Please don't forget to share and like :)
@Pamela Olson Of course I can help. I look at photos every day. Just go to my website and look for the Send photos link (and camera icon). Use the form there to send me photos.

@@DrLoriV You are so welcome❣️
I love dr lori ♡ and I want yo attend one of these events. However ,I dont think I could take be questioned so aggressively just for the sake of proving me wrong ( I'm there because i dont know lol) for some kind of humor. Lol I'd be like I have anxiety can we please just talk about my dish? Haha oddly enough, I'm kind of similiar in y demeanor when I'm in my element . So Its nice to see a confident, intelligent woman taking her space . LOVE IT
Would you please help explain how one can determine if a design is hand painted or transfer? I continue to hear the terms yet have not located a reputable source for explanation. As always, than you for another great video.
Look for the brushstrokes for hand painted. You won't see them if it's transfer.
Hi Dr Lori! I love porcelain and enjoyed this display and your knowledge very much!!😎
Thanks Judi for watching and liking.
Hello Dr Lori, I have two containers I was told could be from the Ming dynasty. You can tell they were made by hand cause there is a slight difference in size. Anyway I was wondering if you come by the Springfield mo area or I could send you some pictures. Thank you
Oh yeah Dr Lori could you just swing by Hollywood Florida and appraise my antiques and paintings?🤣

I have been rewatching, as I go through my old stuff, i pit in totes and boxes and china cabinets and then pull up video thats i already seen... Refreshers.. Also, i feel like I can tell when you are going to say something that is high value.. In your tone and the excitement in your voice when you get going on talking about it. Yeah, I'm weird like that.. lol
So I have a tell? Anybody else here have ideas on what my "tell" might be? :)
i wish i could shadow you! everything that comes out of your mouth i learn more and more , amazing woman!
Hi Holly, thanks, happy you are enjoying the videos. If you can make it, come to an event!
@@DrLoriV ummmmm YeA! That's my DREAM lol I'm in central il
Keep checking my schedule at www.DrLoriV.com/events. A group in Illinois is talking to my office now about hosting an event. I'm already scheduled in the St. Louis, MO area which is not too far.
How I find out what my worth Mimi vase
Send me Photos. Use the form on my website at www.drloriv.com/find-values/online/online-appraisal-form/
I could kick myself a couple weeks ago I went to goodwill and found two Gouda vases. I liked the color and they were in great condition but I had so many other items and knew nothing about them. So I took pics of the mark and the vases and of course came home and looked it up. Grrrrrr! I went back the next morning and they were both gone. I’ve been so mad at myself since then. I live by TCU here in Ft. Worth Texas and there’s always lots of goodies from the more affluent neighborhoods around mine. I just can never keep up with all the brands. So after that vase situation I’ve been just taking the items. It’s goodwill it’s not going to break me. Lol! But anyway I love your videos. You know that. I do hope you come to the Dallas Fort Worth area so I can come and see you!!! Xoxo
I get to Dallas. I've appeared at the Market Center. A group has to invite me to appear. Keep tabs on my schedule at www.DrLoriV.com/events. Remember, whenever you Google, type in quotes "Dr. Lori" with whatever you are researching. You'll get all of my videos and articles on the subject.
About porcelain and ceramics retaining heat - well that makes sense 🤔. So it's good to think to put the cabinet next to cold walls. 🤔
:)
thank you!!!!! :)
Thanks for watching and liking 😊
Very helpful video! I will now air out my China cupboard every month for 8 hrs. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful. I appreciate the feedback.
Oh I forgot about the white cotton cloth.... 😔 Hope I remember that when I really start at putting it all where I feel it belongs.. 😁 finally see what those little dishes were, for salt!!! Lol. My husband thought where ashes from cigarettes.... 🤣 and he thinks I'm a slow head. I love my salt....
That first piece looks like a Van Briggle from Colorado. Mulberry color. Am I a know it all?
I have a painting with the signature M.Vondra, can't find anything on it,,
Mary, I can help using my Ph.D. in art history. Can you tell me more about it using the form on my website
Where do I look up items, I have some rare pieces
Hi Pamela, I appraise items for people.
What does heat do to china in an enclosed cabinet? I know you say to open and release the heat, but what does it do to the china if you don't?
Good question. The heat damages the pieces. I've seen stemware break and cracklure (cracks) on dishes for example. Damage reduces value and ruins your family treasures.
@@DrLoriV I see, that makes sense. Thanks!
Dr. Lori, can you evaluate animal ceramics again? I got a new phone so I will be able to send my pics that I could not send before. Lu
Sure, you can also send me photos of your piece right from your phone using a form on my website.
If it’s ugly it’s probably valuable
If it’s tacky it’s not
I usually come across tacky from the 70s-90s
You are the expert but this is just my own experience.
Everyone has different tastes. Don't confuse taste with value.
When you say to open your china hutch, do you mean like wide open or will a couple inches be good enough? (I have cats...lol)
Just enough to let the heat out. Maybe put the cats in another room for a little bit :)
💜💜💜
👍👍👍
Okok
🥰
I really like Picasso's paintings. Should of told her to look up that Tiffany lava vase. That is 100k of ugly!
I tell you my ex-husband was ugly and he wasn't very valuable he was useless as a teat on a Bull LOL Next time I'm going to marry for money forget about this good look stuff
