Dr Lori are there forgeries or imitations like the second object that you hold??? and so if no marks on could be authentic also for the same category? if the metalic part seems too clean and brilliant? thanks
There are forgeries of just about everything. Not everything has a mark or signature, but everyone believes the myth that something has to signed to be valuable. @@billyscgp Enjoy your time with them now. I'm sorry I thought you were ready to get started. Please talk to them about pieces since they may have ideas of what they want you and others to have. I know it's tough to talk about it.
Dr. Loti, which show was that where you had the French Limoge trinket box and you took the guy’s beer? Looks like a fun show! Did that guy give you a hard time before you were appraising the Limoge piece? I really want to make a show when you come back to Washington State!!
Didn’t know that about Putti- love listening to Dr Lori. Always learn something. Need to take photo’s of a porcelain I have of man sitting on a rock holding a basket of grapes with one arm and holding a rose in the other. The details are so realistic that he looks as if he could jump up off the rock and walk away.. Fell in love with this little guy when I spotted him displayed in a glass case inside a jewelry store of all places. I was maybe 20 years young at the time and the store let me put him on lay away, displayed with a sold sign , until I paid him off . Took me little over a year to pay him off as I struggled to get by. The man with basket is still with me today, and the name Cappe is carved in the rock he’s sitting on. Found out not long ago that there is another porcelain figurine of a woman that he was offering the rose to. Since I’ve never seen her- I pretend he’s offering me the rose 🌹!!! LOL... I’m wondering if he’s worth more if I Found the porcelain woman or is the value the same of him alone.
I did some of my own research and realized what I have been collecting are mid century modern and vintage planters. Plus some of them may be Art Deco or Art Nouveau. Looking forward to see what treasures you have for us!
Dr. Lori I did ! Not trying to be teachers pet cough cough . I never knew the difference between the two I thought they were the same thing. Thanks Dr. Lori 💯❤️👍
Good afternoon Dr. Lori, I have a old oil painting of a mother with her son and daughter. The Little girl is wearing a white dress with a pink ribbon around her waist hanging from the side, with white socking and brown shoes with a buckle in the front. She's leaning on her mother, the mother's dress is also white. The mother has a small pink ribbon tied on her hair at the top. The little boy is wearing a two piece brown outfit with a white fluffy collar that's hanging over his top jacket. The top jacket has many small buttons coming down the front with 2 button on the sleeves. His pants are slightly high but under his knees, with white socking that fits very loose and black shoes with a buckle on the top. Someone signed it but not on the oil painting it says " Sitting Dress Lawrence". It's in a glass frame, In the back the paper is very dark and old. If I touch it the paper with crack. Also the three of them have rosy cheeks. Please help
I can help, but need to see it. I have to have my expert eyes on it to verify what you really have. And then I have to see the factors that affect value. I look at photos and people show me their items during video calls. Details are on my website.
Are the tea, and water pots just for decoration? I'm confused as to how the liquid stays inside if there is a hole in the bottom? Great video, I loved the trinket box, and the vase with the woman who's name I cannot remember, but you said about 85 times. Lol. I hope you're well ❤️🧡
No these pots are functional. Once the liquid is inside, it doesn't spill back out. But be careful cuz that's science and I'm an arts gal. LOL I hope you are well.
I see that there is a Bohemian Portrait vase in the line-up. I have a very old one that is smaller but I can't find much about value. It came out of a storage unit that had things that dated back to the 1700's.
I can help identify your piece if you want to send photos. Watch video to see if your piece is in fact exactly like the piece in the vid but only smaller. I see a lot of people mis-identify pieces. I'm not saying that you are doing this, I just see it happen a lot. This is often too why they can't find values because they mis-identify. Happy to help :)

Kinda reminds me of a ashtray but on the other side it has a box that plays music. I thought it would sit like a picture frame but seems wrong so idk. Thanks for watching! We have tried to make sure captioning is active on all the videos. I'm sorry if for some reason it doesn't display.
I have just recently found your channel and I am hooked! I love you the way you interact with the people is so fun. My parents are getting up in age and hoarders lol I was thinking I was going to have a heck of a yard sale just to get rid of stuff? NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO? If I would be losing out?Lol I will keep watching hopefully I can lear and not throw money away? Have a wonderful day!
Welcome!! Thanks for watching. I can help you sort the trash from treasure. I look at photos and you can show me pieces during a video call.
@@DrLoriV that sounds great I will keep you on stand by for that sad time.
@@billyscgp Enjoy your time with them now. I'm sorry I thought you were ready to get started. Please talk to them about pieces since they may have ideas of what they want you and others to have. I know it's tough to talk about it.

What is a value of octopus wine color glass vase

Dr. Loti, which show was that where you had the French Limoge trinket box and you took the guy’s beer? Looks like a fun show! Did that guy give you a hard time before you were appraising the Limoge piece? I really want to make a show when you come back to Washington State!!
That show was in Ft. Wayne, IN! Days before I was in Seattle. Hope to see you soon!!
I love the face you made getting the beer.lmbo
Yay! I guessed the pretty green box. Yep, I do not remember the name. I'm a bad student Lori. LOL 😂 Thank you for sharing your talents 🌞🌞🌞
You are so welcome! Don't forget to share so others can learn :)
How do we find out when you’ll be in Texas?
My event schedule is posted on my website. I was supposed to be in Texas a few times in 2020 but they got cancelled because of the pandemic.
I did some of my own research and realized what I have been collecting are mid century modern and vintage planters. Plus some of them may be Art Deco or Art Nouveau. Looking forward to see what treasures you have for us!
Have you read my article on my website about the difference between Art Deco and Art Nouveau?
No, I will though thank you.
Dr. Lori I did ! Not trying to be teachers pet cough cough . I never knew the difference between the two I thought they were the same thing. Thanks Dr. Lori 💯❤️👍
@@loridisney3782 lol Happy to help as always :)
Can't find it. What is the title?
You do know you are one in a million!
Not much longer guys 👍👍👍
Dr. Lori your awesome I lmao 🤣 smart and funny great combo!
@@DrLoriV Thank you
"I'm glad it's not Corona"...how did the crowd not bust out laughing? That was an epic one-liner!!!!
I thought so. They were probably thinking about getting sick.
@@DrLoriV That would be awesome! How do I send photos to you?
@@DrLoriV I found info about your appraisal's from photographs. That is so awesome! You will be hearing from me! Thank you

Missed the beginning of the live video sadly. This old laptop doesn't like the Live videos sometimes it bumps me off the internet. The nickname I've earn in my family is, The Keeper of the Archives". They are all minimal types, lucky me!
Old habits die hard :)
Tis true. Enjoy your evening.
Dr L I have this music thing. It's about a 3x3 square maybe porsalin (not sure if it's spelled right) music tray or something. It looks maybe Japanese. Kinda reminds me of a ashtray but on the other side it has a box that plays music. I thought it would sit like a picture frame but seems wrong so idk. Wondering if by my half crap description you might know. If you have an email or number I would love to send a picture of it. Thanks.

Research works . I look up to the education dr lori and admire her expertise. ...that being said ...read books , research etc because history is exciting whether you can afford the privledge of a degree . That being said i can barely remember my undergrad art history class hahaha
What do you remember from your undergrad days :)
@@DrLoriV not much from art history , every now and then I will see something that clicks a memory. I took art history for fun and wish someone would have told me it was ok to pursue Art history as a major....or literature . Right now I am desperate for an e course that could help me review the basics. Thanks for reading my comments , alot of typos with these gorilla thumbs .
