Have you thought about plumbing air intake off of co2 reactor to the top of the skimmer? BRS has a video on how to do it super simple. Basically it scrubs air coming out of skimmer vs scrubing air from the whole cabinet and or room. It will extend life of CO2 media. Much more efficient.
Look up DIY recirculating co2 scrubber BRS has a video you've already done 90% of the work you'll need a drill drill bit and hose that's it maybe valve and tee.
I actually did that before. But it is a little risky, I had overflow on my skimmer before even with an additional condensation water trap. But I agree it works sooo much better👍
