Congrats. Skimmer Looks great. Compact and appears to be efficient. The neck cleaner idea sounds interesting. Wonder how cleaning more parts is for the long run. Whole Skimmer looks easy to take apart so promising. The Easy Access Tuning Dial is big plus if it Tunes easy (Wet Vs Dry).
thanks wally - i'll stick clean the body every 6 month or so, but will try to use the neck cleaner and maybe clean the collection cup monthly? we will see!
@@TheBioReef Look on their website and get the dimensions needed for the kit but the problem you have is the cover is not a flat acrylic cover like typical skimmers. You may have to make a new cap.
If you want to quieten it and skim drier, cover one of the air holes :) I had this skimmer and it worked great, but I missed my nyos so bought a new bigger one :) much happier
i looked at the nyos, but 120 felt too small, and 160 too big for the reefer 250... also, i was really intrigued by the neck cleaner! its a really nice addition
Good luck, I heard they are kind of plasticly I mean not acrylic and heavy like good skimmer should be, my reef octopus is much heavier than a skimz skimmer I had
Does it skim good because that is what you are buying a skimmer for. You can have the heavy acrylic but that has nothing to do with skimming. I want a skimmer to work and work good. Sometimes we get too caught up in features that really have nothing to do with the overall operation and funtionality of the product.
yes - i am really liking it better than the BK mini 160. it skims way more consistently and is much easier to adjust vs. the BK mini 160; i wonder if the BK was just a bit too over rated for my tank, but certianly the rsk300 skims more effectively in my tank
i think the BK was too overpowered for my system.. i had to close down the outflow pipe almost to the end to get it to skim, and at that range, fine tuning the flow was impossible. It would be either wetskim, or no skim... i am mean i was happy with it, but the rsk skims much better and more consistently in my system
@@TheBioReef I see what you're saying. I think I'll follow your choice:) At the end of the day you have the best looking RFR250 on the planet, so you must know what you're doing:)
Great run through of the Real sea skimmer and first impressions looks like a great skimmer for the price thanks for sharing
thanks Braveheart!
I wish you would have showed equipment before taking it out. I need to put in the box. Someone else removed the skimmer from the box
Have the 600 and the legendary PSK1000 never disappoints. Not noisy at all for an ac motor.
Nice

A tip you can hang the drain hose of the skimmer cup on the refugium/auto top off edge
will have to try that! thanks
I've been using the Avast Marine Swabbie neck cleaner for years and it's been a time saver since I travel alot.
hmmm, i wonder if it fits the reefer skimmer ?

I have to say I love my nyos too

I always like the ideal of the neck cleaner and would like to make one for my skimmer. Nice skimmer.
thanks!
Hello nice video.
Which redsea skimmer for an 650 liter aquarium you recommend for mix reef ?????
The 300 or 600. ???
Thanks for replying
my guess would be the 600?
Good luck, I heard they are kind of plasticly I mean not acrylic and heavy like good skimmer should be, my reef octopus is much heavier than a skimz skimmer I had
i hear you. While it is not heavy, it dosen't seem flimsy to me

@@bckey1440 so far its been skimming great
RSK 300 + noise test ?
will bring a db meter for next video. but it is on the same level as the bubble king mini 160
Did you get the other skimmer pump back?
i did, but i stuck with the red sea skimmer and sold the bubbleking
Great I just got the red sea skimmer and it is pretty good 👍
How do you like it? Is it big enough? Is it better than the 160 was?
yes - i am really liking it better than the BK mini 160. it skims way more consistently and is much easier to adjust vs. the BK mini 160; i wonder if the BK was just a bit too over rated for my tank, but certianly the rsk300 skims more effectively in my tank
AmroAzul TV awesome, thank you!:) I thought the BK was better, so it’s a surprise.

@@TheBioReef are you still satisfied with the skimmer? debating now between the 300 and 600
don't you have a problem with these ?... make a boubles in minimum ?
Nope no issues, works really well
@@TheBioReef Thanks
I personally don’t like them because of the noise, changed to a deltec
Mine is not noticeable but I hear great things about deltec... they are no readily found in my region
Nice vid.
Wet Elbow thanks!
