Hi Henry, did you move the red piece that fits on to the bubble diffuser so it covers the holes directly above the output of the simmer body? I found that resolve my similar issue.
Great vid. Subbed. I just got the RS RSK300. Still breaking it in. How many inches of water in the sump from the base up are you running it? Mine seems to pull a lot of water if I leave on the floor of the sump. Thinking about getting a stand for it. Thoughts ?
I am getting a Cade PR1500 tank total water volume 169g not sure to get the 600 or 900 medium bio load the shop recommended the 900 what’s your opinion please?
I have the 300 i turned it on for the first time extremely loud pump serious amount of vibration, can hear it outside the room with tv on normal volume , i had it for 2 weeks and red seas customer service is a disappointingly bad they keep denying theres anything wrong with the skimmer how can they claim its quiet when you can hear it over a tv ??? I dont think I'm ever buying a red sea product ever again
Hi. sorry for the delayed response. Did try and return it to the place you bought it from or perhaps an exchange? I didn't the 600 noisy .. I've had noisier skimmer for sure.
@@My525XLRedSeaReefer thats okay bud. I bought it from charterhouse aquatics 3 months ago but i only set up my tank and got it cycled a month ago. But the thing is Charterhouse aquatics offered to have a look at the skimmer for me red sea have done NOTHING. They deny anything is wrong with the skimmer at all. I was getting 55-60 decibels and once i showed them proof they said that it was in and about that range. I got my buddy to send them an email about what decibels the skimmer should be and they said "we do not have that information" from the same person i talked to,so they are chatting absolute shit. I already cancelled the two 90's lights from them i want nothing to do with red sea anymore.
@@OA1998. Late reply but i was searching online about how loud the risk 300 is. Mine is very loud and some people in the house cant sleep. It's irritating that some people think its dead silent..., Anyways, I got in contact with red sea and after a quick decibel measurement with an app they told me that they'll send a new pump. Well, so how that goes... Did you have any improvement with the noise?
@@olibrayen5577 what they sent you a new pump???? To this day they have done f all. I had to take it to a red sea dealer last week and thankfully the owner of the store was extremely kind and told me a dude called kevin davies wasnt doing his job working for customer service at redsea and he got fired. It was the same dude that basically gave me the finger when I told him about my skimmer issue. The thing that bothers me still is when i listened to the skimmer at the red sea dealer.(basically an lfs) it sounded the same. Its not ment to rattle and be like that....its so annoying that brs said they couldnt even hear it when it got turned on...its literally made me buy it 5 minutes later. Worst purchase ive ever had so far.
@@OA1998. O A yeah, got the email yesterday that its on the way now. Amd same i bought it because brs said it was silent, and since its a bedroom tank thats what i would have needed. For whatever reason, i dont believe the new pump wilm change a thing but i guess well see. Its going to take a couple of weeks until its in Europe i guess. ive seen a guy on RUclips who hooked up the two little air holes to a co2 scrubber or something like that and it was silent(don't know if his was silent before) Did the guy at the store have an idea of how to make it silent?
Huge cup and that PSK1000 pump is legendary for the immense amount of skimmers that have been designed around it for the last 10+ years.
I switched over to the Nyos 220 and love it as well. They are both very good skimmers.
@@My525XLRedSeaReefer Yes, but costs a lot more. Have the model below it and they are very nice minus a few nitpick things...
I have also the RSK 600. Today I brought it back to my dealer, because the air under the skimmer rises very often and fast.

Thank you! I believe I had mine in 9 inches of water.

In my opinion the 600 is probably good enough. Medium Bio-load for the 600 is 320G.
