Peeta literally brought a locket with pictures of Katniss’ mother, sister, and even Gale inside the arena to try and convince Katniss to to let him sacrifice himself for her to live. Yet he always gets hate about being useless as if we’re all realistically built to be put into this kind of survivalist environment. There’s nothing wrong with being a lover and not a fighter, he’s the yin to her yang.
Peeta is also weak in this film because he legit died and came back to life as well as also getting burned the most by the poisonous fog all in like a 2 hour span

Peeta gets a kill in the water, the force field was accidental, he only gets burned by the poison because he turned back to help katniss when she fell, he volunteered to be there with her, he got the locket with those he thinks she loves most and yet he's deemed as useless.....interesting.
to add onto the force field being an accident the only reason why he hit that was because he was the one leading the way by clearing the path so however you wanna spin it he was doing something useful 😭
Not you saying “use your legs” 😂 to Peeta during the fog part, when Peeta actually loses his leg in the first book and in the second book he has an artificial leg… which is why in the book he struggled when running through the jungle from the fog. For some reason the creators of the first movie decided to have his leg be totally healed in the first arena 😒
I just wanna say that Peeta is honestly a great character. I think you need to see this movie a little more open minded. Not just for Peeta but the entire theme and message. It’s very complex and that’s why Suzanne Collins wrote Peeta as “the good and emotional boy” instead of the trope of being with someone like Gale. Peeta is Katniss’ opposite and this story captivates the story of capitalism, socialism, systematic issues, story arc and character development really really well. It’s not just “watching the games”
Peeta painted Rue on the floor. That was his talent he chose to present. Then Katniss goes in there sees Peetas act of defiance gets triggered and then hangs up the mannequin
I think the idea is that Katniss believes President snow will make sure she dies in the games no matter what so she’s never going to see her mother or sister again. The only thing she is hoping for is to stay alive long enough to help Peeta survive. For her peeta represents goodness & kindness. He’s the guy who gave her bread when she was starving, he holds her when she has nightmares, he makes her feel safe so her goal is to keep him safe. In the books, shes says to herself she’s glad that Gale will think it’s all for show so she doesn’t have to worry about hurting his feelings, she can just enjoy being with Peeta before she dies.
so in the book Peeta lost his leg that's why he struggle with the moving but i think you need to realise that Peeta is more here for the intellect thing that's why he is so important you need to see those movies about the war and not everyone is good to the physical in those moment some people are important because of their brain and they way they can use it to help

Not the PLL dollhouse episode! I don't think the trainings are televised i think it's just an internal thing, could be wrong though! The reason why she was insisting on them prioritizing Peeta over her is because she recognized what you touched on: he's way better at the sociopolitical aspect of this shit than she is. Like although she still has her sister it's obvious that just winning doesn't insure she can keep her safe, she knows she's a target and the odds were not looking good now that they had to face other winners - let's be real they kinda won theirs out of luck last movie and stayed out of the heat for most of it. She was just way over all of the pressure ig. The other movies are much more political, especially part 1. Also i think Effie might face consequences if she doesn't give a performance every reaping? 😭 like i'm not sure but i assume it's part of her role and she's under surveillance like everyone else
