Thank you so much for this comparison review! I didn't buy the movies individually on 4K so when the Ultimate Collection box set was announced with all those new special features I decided it was worth the money. It wasn't easy but I was able to get one. I feel bad for those still trying to get one with it being sold out and going for really high prices online. The picture quality is fantastic and all the special features are wonderful. I didn't see Afterlife in the theatre so can't wait to finally watch it, many other friends of mine enjoyed it.

I’ve just picked up a copy of ghostbusters on 4K. I’ve only played the first 40 minutes and could see without comparing to the blu ray that the 4K looked better. Now I have to get the sequel and afterlife. 👻👍

At the end you see that the original cast has taken & is driving the Ecto 1 back to NYC on the bridge so I am hopeful that means they have plans to continue that story based on some of the characters comments towards the end of Afterlife. 👻

I purchased GB 1 & 2 in a Digibook about 5 years ago. Those were great transfers-so I didn’t rush into buying these…and for not rushing to purchase…I could kick myself in the butt for not getting the ultimate collection when it was$100! I was waiting for a review before buying it..but it was all sold out. Hoping for another form of the Ultimate Collection from Sony tho. Thnx for the time to do the comparison video
So directly from SONY, because the existing Ghostbusters 4K UltraHD have the exact same scan & transfer they will not be re-releasing the Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection again in any form. SONY said this is a 1 time only release just like their Columbia Classics Collections are released. So in this comparison review video I covered all of the information on all the 4K transfers & all the differences. If you are not getting the Ultimate Collection then you should for sure get the other Ghostbusters 1 & 2 4K UltraHD sets so that you can truly enjoy the big image & sound upgrade both transfers provide.
Hopefully this helps you understand a little better what Sony is doing.

Very comprehensive review. I have UK ultimate box set - discs are the same as US version but packaging is not as good. Despite the fact that UK version was almost $200 I am very happy that I have the set. 🙏
Yah it seems a lot of people were upset that the UK version was missing all the lights but was a lot more expensive lol!!! Not sure what SONY thought process was in releasing it that way doesn’t make sense. 🤷♂️
But at least you have all the films to enjoy in 4K now so that’s the most important part of all.

The Blu-ray’s are just fine. I have 1&2 on Blu-ray steelbook
“JUST FINE” is NOT what we are wanting for the Ghostbusters Movies, that’s why these Ghostbusters 4K releases are way above the just fine or decent Blu Ray image qualities.
These Ghostbusters 4K UltraHD take it to a whole new level and are OUTSTANDING transfers on 4K UltraHD with massive upgraded image quality differences over the old Blu Ray releases & put to shame all the previous Blu Ray discs.
Hopefully one day you will get the chance to upgrade & truly enjoy all the enhancements all these Ghostbusters 4K UltraHD have to offer.
Dude, you dropped the ball on this one. You needed to compare GHOSTBUSTER 4K VS GHOSTBUSTERS 4K boxset.
By your comments you clearly did NOT watch any of this video or this whole video review, otherwise you would have know that in this video I covered all the editions including the 2 different 4K releases.
