Got this book for Christmas - read it within a few days. Incredible book. Went for a 16 miler yesterday with my own mantra based from the advice in the book and it felt amazing. So much work to do and so many things I can improve. I need to find someone to video me!! Thanks for the interview.

Oky so I'm only half way through the book and only half way through this video but I tried the basic idea today on my long run, as best I understand it. First I found myself running with so much more freedom and kept creeping up to tempo speed when aiming for "slow run" = I ran my legs out but enjoyed every minute of it. = Hooked and inspired.

This was an amazing interview. The only bad thing is that I did not view this when it went live but I learned SO much and realized...the way I have been running was wrong all this time. I've been running on the front of my foot so at 1:05:34 when Shane says "that's really bad" I threw my hands up and realized that I've been doing it wrong because I'm constantly injuring my calves.
Thank you, Shane and Claire! Time to get this book!

Brilliant interview! I was either laughing or looking around for a pen wanting to write down a nugget of wisdom. I'm definitely buying that book tonight. Major respect to Shane for his expertise, and his journey to earn it.

Just got Shane's book, it's great to always analyse the sport you are in and the movement. It's a shame about the white noise in the background making it hard to listen.

What he talks about is the same(or similar) as Chris McDougall in his book; “Natural Born Heroes” those Crete runners of WW2 and also I think the same as George Héberts Natural Method of training.

Please correct me if I am incorrect, but hasn't all of this been said before? I really didn't enjoy Born To Run, as it was mostly a hyperbolic story about boring characters with very little about zero drop or bare foot running.... But the parts that did talk about the dangers of 'fashion' running shoes with a raised heel and the benefits or zero drop were mentioned and has been around for years..

Yep, most things have been said before if they're right!

@@wildgingerruns yes thats right... if its correct its correct I know... the whole idea of barefoot hasnt been popular for that long, this guy came across though as if it was a new concept. Anyway, i have ordered his book.
