Thanks Rob! It sure was a special moment! She sounded amazing! Lots of lovely white steam too! Certainly different to have a working Midland Engine down here in the West Country. Looking forward to seeing more of her in the future there! ;)
Wow! Great filming Callum! Almost like you were the director of the event. I could feel the smell of coal and hot oil. What a beauty. Videos like this make me happy that I fell in love with British trains! Psst.. now you have to help them weather the loco to your standards :) Cheers, Anders
Frobard Thanks Anders! Sure was a rare sight! The volunteers seem to be pretty up to date on all my videos, when I visit the line, so when the saw me they put on a bit of a show! ;) LOL! Think I like to see her clean for a bit longer first ;) LOL! Glad you enjoyed!
Poor Lady Nan. She got steam cleaned! If shes anything like our Colin, the exposed metal is gunna need a sanding down and oiling with the rust she'd get of being in the shed with something producing that much heat and steam. ANYWAYYYYYYYYYYY. Great video Callum, look nice when they get rid of that garish yellow buffer beam.
RailFan60121 LOL! She sure got a good coating! She'll be fine the ESR look after her very well. Think she is one of the old members of the fleet! 46447 sure is stunning! Yep, now she's had a few test runs she will head back into the workshop for a final coat of paint ;) . Glad you enjoyed!
I must say I (don't) take personal offence for that comment on the bufferbeam, for I was the one who painted it! Great video mate as well, sure was a big moment.
+C.W.Jenkins Rail Films Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it! She sure is a sight! Yes, the GCR does, but think the SVR's one may have moved to another line. Not sure. Wow, quite a few projects then! Will you be going to see any of those returning to steam?
Great video Callum. Nice touch with the shed scene mate! Can't wait to see her with some stock in your October video. They have one of these at the Great Central and the SVR don't they? Here in South Australia we've got a few restorations going on. The biggest and most anticipated restoration that has just commenced is that of a 4-8-4 northern 520 class locomotive of the former SAR. Then we have a 2-6-0 Yx Class mogul being restored up north and two Rx Class mixed traffic engines down the South Coast along with the northern. So we South Aussies are very excited about the engines that might be coming back to traffic. By the time you come mate they'll probably all be running hopefully.
Trains Big and Small It sure will be! I know loads of people that are going that day. Think the ESR will have to get the Taffy Tank in action too, to keep up with the numbers! LOL!
Steam in the North West It sure is mate! LOL! One of the crew members did mention she is in a painting! Will have to look into that. Sure hope Bachmann make a model of her too! ;)
Her first day of movement (27th) was 189 years to the day that the first steam powered passenger railway ran from Darlington to Stockton. It's nice to see everything so clean isn't it?
Trevor Ledgeway Thanks Trevor! She sure was a sight! Now she's had a few little test runs she will head back into the workshop for all the finishing touches before her big launch! Glad you enjoyed!
MI Rail Sure was a special moment! Yes, she will. Seem that there might be a sort of mini gala for her big launch on the 26th October, with the 56xx helping out.
