East Somerset Railway: Steam Raising Small Prairie 4555

The dedicated team at the East Somerset Railway prepare GWR Small Prairie for the Peppa Pig event. The steam raisers were Joseph & Matthew who have dedicated many years to the East Somerset Railway. Chris & Elliot were the footplate crew who continue to serve the railway after many years also of dedicated service. I've been coming to this railway since I was 4/5 years old and it always warms me to know that the railway is ran be an incredible and dedicated team from the footplate, to the permanent-way team, and senior management. Thank you to the team for letting me join them today and show how much hard (and dirty!) work that goes into getting the small prairie into steam.

What a lovely video, it was nice to look back on from prepping 4555 to her pulling a train. Great drone footage, I thought that was very good.

Thanks John! Im hoping to work more with the team at the East Somerset Railway to get more behind the scenes shots like this. The cab is a little snug so a footplate shot will be at the discretion of the crew but hopefully one day soon! :)

@@TrainandSimple Well it was so good, I managed to organise a ride behind 4555 on Thurs. Amazing skills from the East Somerset team running steam trains in that heat. I think you have found what you really want to do, and it shows in the quality of your film work.
