I was born in Minehead in 1947 and lived in the area until I was about 12. The Minehead branch (as it was in those days, part of BR Western Region) was my childhood railway and I used to love the journey into Taunton and back. Friends of my parents (a local auctioneer & his wife) looked after me after I had been very ill and my parents were both very ill and organised a visit to Blue Anchor signal box for me. Even in those days I was an anxious traveller and turned down the opportunity to close the level crossing gates, using the big wheel in the box, fearing that the train back to Minehead would leave without me! I'm so glad that the WSR is such a beautifully run and cared-for heritage line now. Let's hope the Taunton connection continues as a regular thing - it could take traffic off the Taunton-Minehead road!

Those old carriages with the compartments bring back memories of our trips down to Cornwall in the 80s when I was a kid, used to love running up and down the Isle.
About 55 years ago my family (mum, dad, 5 boys and a girl) had a holiday in the camping coach at Stogumber Station - then, until the early 70s, we stayed in 2 chalets at Helwell Bay, Watchet. We loved the railway! They used to have through trains from the main line at Taunton to Butlins at Minehead and we’d wave to the train from the camping coach windows - once with our feet I remember! Incidentally, a scene rom the Beatles film A Hard Day’s Night was shot on one station - Crowcombe I think!!

Hi Geoff and Vicki, The next heritage railway you should visit is the watercress line because South Western Railway have a station there and that is Alton and Alton is the northern terminus of the watercress line and i will think you two would love it! It has a dining train and lovely train (some with compartments) and they have 6 working steam locos and 3 working diesel locos.
At 10:56 a station announcement saying "all change" would have been most appropriate! Having watched many of Geoff's and also paul's videos, I didn't notice the change of presenters, although I noticed something seemed different, wasn't sure what until Geoff and Vicki reappeared!
When he said “we’ve got the vice chairman” I heard, “we’ve got the West German” and you were both so enthusiastic I was wondering what I’d missed in the last episode and Global politics over the weekend.
Ha-ha! But this is GREAT NEWS - WSR is such a popular and lovely line, in effect folks from London can get to Minehead on the rails! We've taken it several times and on our whistle-stop visit back to England after a decade+ away, in June, we had a quick pit stop at Bishops Lydeard, bought some souvenirs and enjoyed some coffee in their super-quaint buffet - took lots of piccies of the steam train and said next time we'll be sure to have time for a RT trip. We did the ESKR instead... Oh Vicky - Dunster Castle is wonderful - worth half a day of anyone's time - you'll just HAVE to return!!! Cheers!
Something very nostalgic about compartments carriages; last one aged about 7 in the 60s arriving into a very dark Burton On Trent from Leeds late evening with my mother, when the beautiful old platform canopy was still in place. So the bus link between Norton Fitzwarren, are they going to try and lay the track to Taunton?
I'd love to a series where they visit all the steam preservation lines in UK. Theres one a mile or 2 away from where I live. 2 of the stations have bars so there's an opportunity for a couple of beers.
"To The Chuff Chuffs" sounds like the title of a spin off series, where you two go around visiting all of the heritage railways in the UK.
Hint hint...!
Waiting for the Kickstarter, maybe this time I won't be late xD
Good idea, but maybe change it to "All the chuff chuffs"
Could certainly find them a couple of tickets for my line if they did!

Quite possiblpy the funniest All the Stations video, and Yes Vicki Explores needs to be longer, perhaps a longer version in a seperate channel.
I thought there'd be a castle somewhere I think there will be a new segment coming out Vicki visits all the castles
Really enjoyed that, I reckon you should do more heritage stations too!! Great corny end but that look 👀 you got Geoff!!!
Vicki Explores always a ‘must see’ feature 😁
That's a funny ending. Lol good work, the unused stations people lol, they are worth a sub
Why thank you 👍👍
Thanks for the awesome content guys I’m loving it !
Wow, what a beautiful line! Dunstan looks like a great place to spend an afternoon... though maybe not running up and down a big hill to film a piece!
Killed it the whole way through on the "Bonus Commentary", 'does that dog have a rover?'
🤣🤣🤣🤣 classic.
#cheekymax
Top collaboration folks!
Geoff and Vicki both look different in this one :P
Mercenary Pen yep
At 10:56 a station announcement saying "all change" would have been most appropriate! Having watched many of Geoff's and also paul's videos, I didn't notice the change of presenters, although I noticed something seemed different, wasn't sure what until Geoff and Vicki reappeared!
"Steam train smut"
God, you two are utterly adorable.
Thanks for being my new favourite everything x
Green Park station, Reading is apparently due to open late 2021 (the platforms have been built as at Jun-21).
Cheers!
Paul and Rebecca at the end - hahahaaa. (and Vicki's look at the 'joke' obvs)
They video bombed us, just rude.
@@pwhitewick :D
@@pwhitewick you're on the train around 6 minutes in the video.
@@skylarius3757 yup 👍
it cracked me up.
I spied Paul Whitewick on your train just after you left Watchet. (Paul & Rebecca). Super video.
p
I'd love to a series where they visit all the steam preservation lines in UK. Theres one a mile or 2 away from where I live. 2 of the stations have bars so there's an opportunity for a couple of beers.
Very interesting and informative. Love the comedy moments. I think vicki should have a rest and let Geoff go out on the walks .
Hello There, Great video and what a lovely video, great if they would make this a regular service! Cheers Peter
