This honestly gave me a lot more motivation as im currently training to be fit enough for the royal marines. This video opened my mind more and changed my whole perspective as im a tall skinny lad but i wont give up
As someone who tried and failed I wish I had got this insight 20 years ago before embarking on the Quest to join The Corps. I liked the bit about banter. If you can't take banter are maybe a bit of a loner, it will be a tough challenge to get through! I am not saying that you won't do it, but it is a real band of brothers. Round pegs for round holes. I was the square one hence why I never made it. Good luck to all you guys out there train hard and never quit. Trust me you don't want to look back in 20 years time with regrets.
This actually helped me a lot. Like honestly most of my worries are gone. I honestly thought I had to somewhat be a superhuman to attain that green beret. But I have one question. For the different things you said about your personality, How much would the cadets help with that compared to figuring it out by yourself. Personally I think I have one thing down. The lying. I normally just be real with people than be a d*ck and lie. But great video as always Sam. Hope you're well. 🙂
Would love to join and Mentally I think I have what it takes but it's the physical side where I might struggle as I'm rather skinny need to put the effort into building up that strength
See I'm the opposite I'm physically fit but I struggle with my learning but I try to make up for it with a strong work effort I am already in the army but thinking about transferring to the marine as it's always been a dream plus I love the fitness challenge and the mindset they have.
Quick question in regards to life after RM. Retiring early as a RM - do you still receive something equivalent to a pension or only qualify upon retirement as the required age?
Hey, I'm 16 and looking to apply for the royal marines after I'm done with school. A few months ago I broke my ankle and ended up having to get a couple screws and a plate put in. So far recovery is going great for being only 15 weeks after surgery (went on a 5k run through rough trails yesterday with no problems) and it is expected that after a year it will be completely healed with no issues in mobility or pain. Do you think that this will in any way affect the application process or become an issue when I'm going to apply ? Physically it should not be a hinderance, but I am just not sure whether it will be an issue on paper. Otherwise great video man, Is really helping me to get better view of what I'll be going into and what I'll need to do.
@@danielhalliday9237 Had a talk with the surgeon and my fracture was more at the base of my foot than ankle so all good there. Started running again and feels great. Going to contact them once I'm doing consistent 6 minute miles. Hopefully all goes well
Another great video Sam. However, Milly is far from bang average. Easily better than most midfielders in the teams below Liverpool. Also fittest at the club still! And not only works hard but the quality is there every game ;-) Nice one again!
I would love to join but I’m unsure whether I join the British army or the Royal Marines ... it’s a hard decision and I’m really debating about all of it 😩
Great vid as always mate, been watching a lot of your videos recently and they are helping me loads. Waiting for my medical questionnaire to be viewed and cleared and then I’ll be sending my vpjft+ video in. You mention you focus on your boxing now. Did you ever box when in the marines or is that an interest that came to you once you’d left?
I have a question about becoming a Royal Marines Officer. I was looking into officer roles and saw in other areas of the military it just becomes an office job which is what I don't want to do. From your experience, how does life as an officer differ from a standard Royal Marine and do you know the benefits of becoming an officer within the RMC. Thanks.
have you got the answer? cause i would like to know as im debating on joining now as i just began a levels and prhaps later and join but how does it differ?
Hey Sam my name is nathan Lewis I'm 17 years old and I live in Jamaica I've always wanted to be a marine growing up but last year I was introduced to the royal Marines by a family friend who is a British army vet and he is also jamaica or he was jamaican he migrated when he was 17 also but this was like 30 years ago But being that I'm from jamaica do you think that I would be able to join the Marines from jamaica and then get to travel to England and train and serve? Your advice and insight would be amazing because I am insanely confused at the moment I was planning to join when I turn 18
Apply from the website as soon as possible mate. (AS SOON AS YOURE 18), not before or they might bin your application. I'm from NZ so know the commonwealth route. Best bet is to apply online via the main website asap. YOU NEED TO BE 18, they wont take commonwealthers unless youre 18.
Raj Maj Yeah mate I’m from New Zealand myself so guess I’m lucky in the sense we have really similar cultures. NZ itself gets pretty fucking cold too but definitely expecting Uk winter to be something else. Can also back the west ham comment ahah, loving the fitness program he’s got going though.
I really want to join the royal marines but I'm Muslim and there are some rules that I need to follow whilst in the army. But I'm scared of the possible islamaphobia I might face, what do you think?
Don’t worry about religion I m not religious however Muslims are the ones most kind person I have ever met so go for it mate I m 29 now and I m giving 1 year for my progress to join marine So I m gonna e fully prepared Good luck
Oh this is bullshit- why do I have to force myself to joke around and be “cheerful”. I can’t stand lads culture, I just wanna do my job and wait for the next order. I’m more of a serious guy and I don’t like being a fucking clown I don’t understand why people keep looking down on me for that.
Great football analogy. Also really liked the emphasis you put on integrity, this is the most important quality in life.

Good for you, the physical side is secondary. It's all mental.

Very small pension not worth anything bro.
Broken Argie - love it!
I can relate to this, but still working on controlling the sense of humor. I take things way too far sometimes, lol 😂😂😂
Very very helpful. Characteristics for me to achieve in civilian life, cheers Sam.
Loved the football analogy but could be summarised as, "don't be Jack".
Roger mate! Better way to put it 🤣
Please what is the cut off age for joining the royal marine
