100% a musket ball, if you ever do come to the UK, bring your 'tector and book on an organised dig. It'll cost about £20 and you could get lucky and find literally anything, I've found a 5000 year old Bronze age axe head in Staffordshire, a 500 year old canon ball fired at a church during the Reformation in Warwickshire, literally hundreds of medieval copper and silver coins as well as a couple of gold ones and everything inbetween, you'd be in heaven over here.
How do you get into this I got given a metal detector not really used it before but I do know if you want to find something decent there's no point in just looking anywhere
It is important, as I'm sure you will know, to report your finds to the Portable Antiquities Scheme, so your fabulous finds can be really part of our historical record.
"The Detectorists":- from the BBC. A really amusing couple of series about some Metal Detectorists and their friends in a small East England village. If you can find it, i highly recommend you and your father watch it- it's really cleverly written British humour!😊👍
Beautiful, wonderful quintessential English nonesense!binged it 3 or 4 times.add on worzel gummidge & life is good.can't believe how quickly mackenzies star shone so brightly after the office
Seriously looking forward to more metal detecting escapades with ya fam Mr JT .. Detecting is one of my all time passions have also done it since I was a child with parents 45 years on am still finding allsorts old new valuable never gets boring always loving it when the detector beeps !! HAPPY DETECTING !!
Looks like you have a musket ball, it's been dropped not fired (if it was fired, being lead it would have squashed), the flattened area is where it was cut off the molding sprue. Glad to see you are finding the same sort of things that I do in the UK, ring-pulls, drink cans!
It would of only squashed if it hit something . It would have grooving from barrel rifling or have markings from the patching if fired from a smoothbore.
I’m a beach comber, similar to a mudlarker but less mud (usually) lol and I live near an area of the Jurassic coast where you can find fossils. I sometimes find other items as it was an old dumping location from the Victorian era. I’d love to do metal detecting too!
There was talk of another series but I guess it didn't happen.have you seen- this country?not detecting but englishness from a different point of view. Also Whitehouse & Mortimer goes fishing.stunning scenery, musical background & a couple of old comedians hanging out
Just watched the bbc weather report. I hope you are both safe and well.this storm you are having is supposed to be really bad . So stay safe. Been watching your channels since there were 2000 subscribers on your first.
Looks like it could be a musket ball, the other things i thought it might be. A ball bearing from a bearing set (once they go wonky they can start throwing the balls out quite often) or the other thing i thought it could be, but i dont know if you even get them over there is a fishing weight. Over heer in the uk we get little metal ball weights, with a split down most of it middle, and you just pinch it onto the line. Musket ball would be the cooler of the 3 though :)
Before folks had a safes or banks they buried their precious things to keep them safe and of course over time the stashes were forgotten if the owner died etc. Happy new year and happy hunting.
Nice video, thanx, As someone else said, there is a great and really funny British TV series called "Detectorists", stars Toby Jones (The voice of Dobby and Star of many films including Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the Hunger Games) and McKensie Crook (from the Office and Pirates of the Caribean). It should be on RUclips, etc, if you are "into" metal detecting, it is a must see, you will love it......
Where i live in the uk we have an old rifle range that was used by the military around the time of the Napoleonic wars. We find musket balls by the handful up there and some what i can only describe as lead slugs, they're hexagonal and about an inch long so god knows what fired those 😂
Loved this new content, right up my ally. Don't know if you can find it but try find UK TV show River Hunters where they detect in well "rivers" nice American dude call Beau off a RUclips stars
Pistol ball, too small for a musket. Although they did have small calibres, it's pretty uncommon. I literally have buckets of musket balls and other projectiles as I live on an old firing range which was used from the early 1700s till the 1850s, haven't found a cannonball yet, but there's plenty of documentation that cannonballs flew over the range 😂
Your so lucky this is not allowed in Ireland I watch people do it on RUclips from UK I love it one guy brings a small water spray bottle and a soft brush so they don't damage stuff. You should look up the laws about it in Irelan very annoying. I live around the battle of the boyne there be some amazing finds but even if you found something in your garden you have to hand it over

So cool, the whole family. Love it! You could do a ghost hunt one night by the gravestones.

Love historical finds !!
Happy New Year.
What a fantastic find JT hopefully we will see more exciting finds soon
At 4:53 the thing you think slides shut and open is a harmonium reed. It was a musical instrument from the 1800s
Happy New Year JT, Anna and the animals.
OMG you came back! I've missed this channel so much!
A suggestion, “The Scottish detectorist” he pulls up some amazing history from the fields of Perthshire! Great video xx
You can't call yourself a detectorist until you've found a pull tab. Congratulations.
Love the musket ball.
Happy New Year JT, Anna and all the babies x
Happy new year to you and Annam
Good move bud..got me hook line and sinker...no pun intended..😂.
Loving the new idea for content! 👌 if you do ever make it to the UK you should do some there. 😊✌
at 12:43 looks like the top cap of a 2 part rivet. The same sort that are commonly used on denim jeans.
Could be a musket ball or possibly some kind of ball bearing great finds
Really enjoyed this video 👍
Happy New Year
More of this please
Best Regards Martin King UK
Is your middle name luther?🤗
I’m a beach comber, similar to a mudlarker but less mud (usually) lol and I live near an area of the Jurassic coast where you can find fossils. I sometimes find other items as it was an old dumping location from the Victorian era.
I’d love to do metal detecting too!

Happy new year and happy hunting.
As soon as you picked up the ball shape i said musket bullet. I would love to have a metal detector. xx
The cross like object is one end of a barbwire spool.

I used to detect too, I've been thinking of getting back into it. Remember to always check your hole. Definitely a musket ball btw
JT as soon as I saw it I said musket ball, I was shouting at the TV, it's a musket ball JT! Great find.
Very interesting video JT
great video more please
Your machine looks very similar to my Nokta legend, happy fossicking.
I wouldn't retire just yet on your finds!
It looks like you found a musket ball.
I’ve only ever used a metal detector which was only one step up from a toy. I’d absolutely love using a proper one.
I do like videos like this I think they are so interesting. can't wait for the next one hope to see you soon bye for now
Amazing!
come to the UK metal detecting it wont disappoint

Oh and I followed you on X but think you not posting on there??
A beach is a good place to do detecting if you can get to one.

The old pull tab - they still have them in saudi arabia 😂
The musketball looks like a .36 caliber pistol ball. Dropped unfired.
Hi JT❤
i have only done it once but it is difficult for me being in a wheelchair and hardly know how to use it
JT will fall apart if he finds treasure 😅❤
American - 300 years, really old
Brit - 300 years, modern
There’s a channel I watch called The Scottish Detectorist it’s really good.
I got a metal detector from my dad who i never met after he died , ive not used it yet but its a decent one dont know nothing about them
Them non human buckles are even rarer.
Hi Jt and Anna happy 2025

JT the us history finder coming seen on nbc
Hopefully a musket ball and not a ball bearing ball.
The "beltbuckle" looks like the buckle from a breast strap from a horse saddle rig.
You really just need to marry Anna it seems wrong hearing you call her girlfriend 😂
i live in southern ohio and ill give 300 bucks for that boat if you live within 2 hours of me
