    Good vid. I use the same technique. Snap-On 1/2" cordless impact gets'er done as well. Note to viewers, If you don't have one or want to spend the money on a ball joint press, you can rent one at most Auto parts stores. Advance actually gives you a complete refund when you return it.
    I have to do lowers on a Silverado tomorrow. Can you come and do a tutorial on how to remove caliper bracket, wheel hub, knuckle, strut and lower control arm?? You may have to show me twice. Good thing there's 2 sides. 😂 Thanks for the vid. Wrench on.

    • @superswire
      @superswire 3 года назад

      Why are you taking all that apart to do the lowers ? Just pull the 2 lower strut bolts, tierod, caliper, axle nut and inner axle bolts, unplug the abs sensor, balljoint nuts and yank the knuckle. Replace your bushings and reassemble. No need to pull the hub and caliper bracket at all.

    Pretty good tutorial. Unfortunately my lower control arm is a bit more tricky than this one. I've got an old Nissan Primera P11 / Infiniti G20 . One bushing is similar to this, but the other one is quite different. It looks like the alignment is critical as well. The ball joint is a bit tricky too. I think I might just have to replace the whole arm, kind of annoying, but I don't have the special tools needed to replace the components on the arm individually.

    When reinstalling....you really shound make sure that the tool shaft is centered...you misaligned and bent the outer ring...which will cause premature failure...the socket u used helps to keep it centered...but an oversized cut of bolt head works alot better to keep it centered. Great video....but careful once is better than installing twice

      @@OzMechanics it can't even take our lugs off when we need to do the seasonal tire change. I have to crack it with the breaker bar first. I found another video that showed someone use a socket + breaker bar with a ball joint press on the bushing. Is it standard practice to take the whole control arm out to get the bushing out? You can try, unbolt the control arm from the body, and try to pry it off and just maneuver it around with the ball joint on. But you will have a “fun” time doing that so you might as well pull The Whole thing off

    • @superswire

      That's because they only pay 10 minutes per bushing and sometimes they are seized in there like crazy. Not to mention, if the bushings are shot, good change it's time for balljoints soon anyways. I'm doing a suburban right now actually with new moog bushings and this video came up as I'm playing on my break. It's scary how AI does that crap now. I ordered bushings this morning and then RUclips is suggesting videos about them 😂
