Kiki! Thank you for this excellent tutorial. So helpful ! I am a seriously hooded eye gal so this one is just what I need. And yes, more of this please. You’re a great teacher!
Thank you! I bought it a few years ago at The Real Real, envisioned wearing it with a oversize white button down and this is the first time I've worn it!
My favorite eye makeup days are when I just focus shadow on the lash line and outer portion of the eye (leaving my lids bare). Would enjoy seeing if that is a technique you use/have used. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Thanks Kiki!
Thank you for this series! My old eyes have become more hooded lately, like ridiculously so, and I will be following this tutorial until it's my second nature. 🙂
Thank you for this tutorial! You look gorgeous! I’m in my 20s but found many of your tips helpful. I am similar to you in that I have hooded lids and appreciate makeup that enhances natural beauty (with a twist). I think your tips can help anyone of any age. As an aside, I also appreciate your reviews, product recommendations and try-ons of eye products. You are one of the few makeup reviewers I feel I can trust when deciding whether a product will look good on me (Temptalia and Lexi are the two others). It’s helpful to see you try different formulas and demonstrate they might look on the skin and in the crease. Especially appreciate seeing how glitter and shine sit on the eye - it can vary so much! I love luxury beauty and you help make it easier for me to research and choose a new product. Thank you, keep it up!
Wow - I'm thrilled & delighted! I also feel many of my reviews and tips can be helpful to a wide range of people, and you are proof of that. So glad you find my videos helpful!
What an amazing necklace! So pretty. This video was very well done. Good explanation, reasonably paced demo, including zooming in. Thank you! I look forward to the rest of this series!
Thank you so much I always come to you This is the best yet video You are such a great teacher and to the point thank you again so much especially for beginners 💜💜💜💜💜🙏
Thank you! My eyes are becoming more hooded as each birthday passes. I also suffer from dry eye so I can't wear mascara or eyeliner very often so shadow, concealer, and a brow pencil or my main eye makeup products.. I'll try your techniques.
This is such an elegant everyday look - very pretty. I liked your left eye best as the shadow you pulled out on your right eye drew my attention more to the hood. Did you use the color fair in the eyeshadow trio? Thank you.
I have some serious eye wrinkles at 66 - I was a sun lover who ‘hated wearing sunglasses ‘ - so while my eyes aren’t really hooded - I have a similar challenge in redirecting focus on my eyes vs my wrinkles. I’m drawn to the same colors as you; we have similar green eyes. Gucci Westman introduced a new brown liner you may like. Eyeliners and mascara make a huge difference. Thanks for the demo Kiki! Very helpful. ❤
@@TheHoodedLid That’s a bummer! I passed on the Eye Love You set because the eye cream doesn’t last through the day on me and the mascara was sort of ‘gloppy’ - but the eyeliner I like. I’d love to see her introduce a powder eyeshadow quad or trio. Anyway, you always look beautiful no matter what makeup you’re wearing!
The struggle is real! 😂 i have learned to use the real estate under my eyes to play with color and shape my eyes. I have large almond shape eyes but less space than you have above the lid. I do like your left eye technique actually probably because the color goes all the way around the eyes. You look gorgeous both ways anyway.
Curious if you advise against putting any shadow along the bottom lash line with hooded eyes? I really enjoy your videos and you have such a pleasant voice!
For me, the problem is not so much the hood, but the size of my eye (I often feel my eyes look less open and smaller with shadow on the lower lash line) and my dark under eyes - I feel the darkness of a shadow accentuates the dark circles! But great point and I will mention it in another eye video!
Thank you! As a 56 year old with hooded eyes, I no longer put shadow on my lower lash line either. I was just curious! Is it crazy that I love hooded eyes?!
Very informative video -I’m looking forward to the series. Are you using the obsidian color in the gel eyeliner? I’ve been on a search for a eyeliner that will stay in my water line.
Need to know drugstore products that are dupes or close, plus cruelty free brushes and products. Example: Maybelline tests on animals so is a no go for me. TYFS. I am now a subscriber.
Sadly, many drugstore products do - Kelly Gouch (sp?) does drugstore cruelty free so she might offer some ideas. Personally, I find drugstore eyeshadows to be very difficult to work with. Colourpop isn't bad, though.
I enjoy your videos and your voice is lovely. My problem at 65 is that my eyes look smaller and seem downward facing because my glasses prescription is so strong now. So, although my eyes aren’t as hooded I’m hoping your techniques will help them look bigger and with less downward distortion 🤞🤞🤞!
I know im a bit off content here but what concealer have u found to be best for not creasing on crepey wrinkled under eyes? I have major problems with concealers and have tried many . I am 53yr with old but still oily. 🤬🥰🤗💋
That's tough since I am not oily - but take a look at my Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte concealer video. That might be an option. Also the NARS soft matte - I used to use this but as I got older (darn) it started to look dry on me - it might be great for you.
Thank you Kiki, this was helpful. Reminded me of a Bob Ross video, I was just waiting for the happy trees😊. What product do you use to remove mascara and your tightliner? I've tried oil cleansers and a miscellar water but both irritate my sensitive eyes. 💜
Miscellar water is my go-to. I do have a eye remover for very difficult mascara - but I don't love it. I also use Tatcha cleansing oil which works well.
@@TheHoodedLid you are lucky your eyelid has definition and looks almost like liner...you probably dont see it but it shows in camera and you are lucky!
Kiki! Thank you for this excellent tutorial. So helpful ! I am a seriously hooded eye gal so this one is just what I need. And yes, more of this please. You’re a great teacher!
I'm sooo glad you liked it and find it helpful!! Feel free to share it with friends who you think might enjoy it!
Although I have enjoyed makeup for many years, I appreciate and look forward to this series🌸🐝
I'm so glad!
Great look!!!
Glorious to see an older woman who is natural and dealing with real aging issues. :))
Yay! Thanks so much!
Beautiful. You always make playing with makeup fun 20:33
So many helpful tips...super excited about this series! ❤
Yay! Thanks for watching! I just saw your foundation shot - lol the woman who said they all look orange! They sure do! Great tips.
That necklace/collar is so gorgeous!
Thank you! I bought it a few years ago at The Real Real, envisioned wearing it with a oversize white button down and this is the first time I've worn it!
That foundation is beautiful on you xx
Oh thank you!
Your technique has been very effective for my hooded lids, Kiki. To re-watch your instructions has been reassuringly helpful.
I'm so glad!!
Looking forward to more of this series.
Very helpful. I only started wearing make up in my late 50’s and am very much a beginner.
Wonderful! So glad it was helpful!
What a great video, thank you!!
Thank you for watching - I'm glad it was helpful!
Can’t believe I am here so fast today 😂
Yay!

Because of my delightful "hoods" - that doesn't work for me (probably would have 40 years ago)
This series is brilliant. I’m all in for it.
I'm so glad to hear it!
Thank you for this very helpful tutorial. It would be very much appreciated a tutorial for a more evening look. Thanks!
Sure! I'm sure I'll end up doing a few eye videos for this series!

I can’t wait to watch the rest of this video on the treadmill tonight…but I must ask you about your gorgeous necklace! It’s so beautiful!
It's old, from Tory Burch. Glad you like it!

Great video, thank you! Would love to see something on the under eye for mature eyes.
That will be coming along as well!
Excellent video! Thank you. 😊
You're very welcome!
So helpful!!! Love this video! Thanks so much for doing it.
You are so welcome!
This is great, thankyou
I’m not a beginner but I still learned a few things from this video!
My hope was everyone could find a little tidbit that was helpful!
I’m excited for this series! I also have hooded lids so I can use all the help I can get.
Thanks Kiki really helpful, I am hopeless with shaping my eyes but will try this.
You can do it!
Thank You for your great videos! How To Videos on dark circles, watery eyes, hyperpigmentation, color correcting, all the fun stuff, please.
I'll for sure be doing concealer and under eyes/foundations/color correcting!
Thank you so much I always come to you This is the best yet video You are such a great teacher and to the point thank you again so much especially for beginners 💜💜💜💜💜🙏

I'm sure a dark powder instead of eyeliner will work well!
Pozdrawiam, świetny film. Have a nice Day 💐
Thank you so much for this series! I'm not yet too mature but my eyes have a similar lid issue. Can't wait to see more!
Oh, I agree - it's not just for mature skin, hooded and small eyes might find some tidbits here!
Hi, just came across your channel & love it.

I am following you now...
Yay!

I used the shade "light." Thanks!

Yes - I have that eyeliner - it was/is in her "Eye Love You" set. I find it transfer unto my hood though - lol

I'm using CAVE
I'd like to see some ways to use a shimmer without it getting on the upper lid/hood area.
Okay! Putting that in my notes for the next "eye" video!

Have you ever used permanent eyeliner because you have good definition above lashes ...I am considering doing it!
No, I haven't!
