Thank you for stressing right off the bat that “There is no magic wand”! I’m a retired cosmetologist and every day of my career I would get at least one client who expected to achieve their perfect look, whether it was hair, makeup or both, with zero effort on their part. Results require effort. On a day to day basis most people, including my husband, don’t realize that I wear makeup at all. However I put alot of effort into my daily routine to minimize perceived flaws and accentuate my best features. I can do this in 15 minutes. Date night I go glam which only takes 30 minutes. Skin care, body care, hair care/styling and makeup, no matter how minimal, requires effort. It’s okay to decide not to prioritize it, but those folks likely aren’t Risa subscribers and fans 😊
@@RisaDoesMakeup Hi Risa I just adore you & have purchased so many products you've recommended! Question: Do I put the eyeshadow primer on AFTER I apply my foundation? I bought the P. Louise like you have, but I just need to know exactly WHEN to apply it! So I usually do foundation, concealer, powder. Do I do the eyeshadow primer right before powder? I'm desperate for your help on this!
lesliedemarco1691 From all the videos I've seen during the years I think that the order doesn't really matter bc if they use eye primers they don't use foundation on their lids, Risa included if I'm not mistaken. Lots of them do the eyes before the face, to avoid fallouts. The difference is between those who set their eye primers and those who don't. I think it also depends on the eye primer. Some are gripping, some are smooth. I also often saw Jen Phelps using the NYX glitter glue on her eyes when applying certain shimmers. They pop more and don't fall out. Hope it helps 😊
@@flowerchild2657 When I put my foundation on, I try not to get it under my eyes and on the eyelids itself, but sometimes it gets on there. After foundation I put concealer. The ivory pencil in the waterline makes a big difference! Been following your tips for years but just started doing this regularly and wow does it open up and brighten my deep set hooded eyes! The key is to finding the right shade; it's almost like finding the right foundation. I tried Tarte, CT, etc but they looked too chalky. The Sephora 12 hr pencil in Coconut is perfect for me! Love your honest, detailed videos! Can you do a tutorial on winged liquid liner for hooded eyes? I’m 51 and struggle these days w sagging lids😢. Thank you
I loved this video. So helpful and I love the tip about the false eyelashes - using the small ones at the end of the eye. Your videos are always so helpful. Thank for sharing your expertise.
This series is SOOOO helpful, Risa! Thank you for sharing your tips with us. I’d love a video on how you know if you have hooded eyes. It may sound dumb but I think* mine are partially hooded but it’s kinda hard to know if it’s hooded or just aging (I’m 41) or both🤷🏻♀️. These tips are really do-able, which I appreciate. Love your videos, pretty lady😊❤
Excellent instructional video, Risa (as always!). Good tip I picked up was your "turn your head when applying the crease blending upwards). Risa, that works! Looking straight ahead was my problem. Thanks again! Keep cool out there in Vegas!
Thank you for this and all your super helpful videos! I'm one of those minimalist, trying to look natural kind of girl who is over 50, but I always say you are the glamour girl. Either way, I learn so much from you and I'm so appreciative of the time you put into these videos.
I appreciate you saying as well, THIS IS GONNA TAKE SOME KIND OF EFFORT HERE! Well I was experimenting with deep purple, garnet, jewel tones which I gravitate towards but feel I look like I’ve been punch in the eye. Also realized my brow color should be lighter. Still can’t get a crisp line on the brow. Which I think looks very polished and finishes the completed look.
Just wanted to thank you Risa for giving us hooded (and as I’m aging very hooded) eyes people all these tips - you truly helped me! I’ve got the tape on your recommendation and use it daily as I’m applying my shadows and it’s a game changer! I also learned how and where to place shadows from you - so it’s just an appreciation comment ❤ I always watch you, for a long time, but mostly quietly, but wanted to let you know that you truly helped this 55 years old tremendously!
Risa thanks for these hooded eyes video❤ I have a problem with most of my shadows creasing on my hooded lids. I use good quality eyeshadows ; powder and creams.
Risa, thank you very much. This seems to be quick & easy to follow. Also, YOU LOOK AMAZING! Your skin looks so flawless & beautiful! What is your regimen? Please, please share. Thank you! ❤
Thank you Risa! I learned one more tip - that is, tight lining with waterproof liner - I didn't know that. I would often skip that part because my eyes felt a bit irritated but I am going to try again with the waterproof one - I think this will fix it - also help with transfer. Appreciate you 🙂💞
This is so helpful and easily achievable. I can’t get over what a difference just the first tip about arching the brows and using concealer underneath makes. And I can’t wait to try that Kosas palette. It seems great for travel. Thanks. Risa!
Hi Reesa loved this even more than the first. You look so amazing as usual. I was wondering if you could let me know if you do lazar treatments or microderm facials like monthly treatments at the esthetician? You look too good thanks for sharing and regards from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you Risa. I’ve followed your first tutorial but I definitely need more practice. I think I’m blending the darkest color in the corner too much, and then my eyes look muddy. I did buy the BK beauty eye brushes so I think I’m just out of practice or my eyes have gotten worse, because I could do this no problem a few years ago. That and my brows. Ugh. I got my dad’s jet black eyebrows that used to be thick and now are not. I have to lighten them, then dye them. I really need to shape them. And I’d love a palette like yours with the concealer in it for shaping, because I have done that! You’re the best. I really appreciate the time you take to do these tutorials. ❤
Hi Risa, thank you so much for your tutorials I find them very informative, I m 70yrs old and I wear glasses and have hooded eyes, my eyesight without them isn't good do you have tutorial for eye makeup for people such as myself?
I always enjoy your videos! Thank you for this application. I finally know how to correctly apply my eyeshadow. I was close but now know how to fix the problem I was having. Tomorrow’s a new day!
I like your extensions and saw you mentioned Hidden Crown in your 'more info'. can you mention which halo extension you are using, length and color . your hair is my color so would like to look it up. thanks! also - great video on hooded eye makeup!
Risa, I live your videos and your ethos, but today especially I was blown away by a little tip you threw in nonchalantly😂. I’ve been wearing make-up for over 40 years and I have small round eyes, it never occurred to me to look sideways and extend my eyeshadow up and out, thank you so much!!
Thank you Risa you are just the best about explaining how to do your eye's & makeup in general. I love your video's. 💜💜💜💜💜💜. Would this be the same technique I always wear cluster lashes.
Hi Risa!! I love all of your videos!! Can you please do a video with eyeshadow that has some color to it, preferably a burgundy-ish look? Would LOVE to see it!!
Hi!! Ooh girl I totally would but I struggle with burgundy shades. Most of them have Red Dye and my eyes are extremely sensitive to it. I’ll see what I can do though, I think I have a burgundy-ish palette around here somewhere that doesn’t irritate my eyes.
i have hooded eyes and i struggle with my eyeshadow disappearing either into my fold of my lid or up higher on my lid. super frustrating. I don't do much because of this. great tutorial, I need to watch the first one. LOL. A good eye shadow topper I have found is from Sephora, small little pots. I can't remember the color, I use my finger, lightly touch the pot and then lightly pat onto my lids.
Risa's first Masterclass for Hooded Eyes was great! She showed us so many different techniques. Some of the people commented that it was too much or too complicated. My takeaway was for me to choose a couple of techniques to experiment with & incorporate whatever works for me.
Risa, I have hooded eyes and am now 51. I used to could wear mascara-no problem. Now, every mascara I have tried transfers all over my lid and ruins my makeup because I have to let it dry, scrape it off, and reapply my makeup. This is so frustrating and it takes me longer and longer to do my makeup- especially now that I've started doing skin prep first. I've tried so many mascaras- even the viral ones like thrive and so many people's favorite lash paradise and they all fail. Can you help me? PS. I'm trying out the colored pencil eyeshadows you suggested and having most of them be flops that I have to return or throw away. I need a good drugstore mascara for hooded eyes and a good drugstore or under $15 eyeshadow pencil brand that works on hooded eyes and is easy and done. I love your channel-I'm obsessed. I just recently found you, thank God! Can you please help me?
Risa, it would be great if you could emphasize vegan and at least cruelty free makeup. We all want to do the right thing and those products have gotten so much better. Thanks!

I just got your Martini lashes and would get the smaller cluster immediately!
Love your videos. Always love your eye Looks!
Thank you so much!!
Is there a mascara you can recommend for someone who wears contacts?
Thank you so much for making this video! I have learned so much from you. I really appreciate you taking the time to do all your videos.

I have very deep set eyes at 68 years. So, will these instructions help me? Appreciate your videos. ❤😊
Risa, you have reignited my love for makeup ! What is the lip color you’re wearing? Thank you from a 53 yo
Thank you, Risa! These videos are SO helpful!! ♥️♥️
Thank you Risa you are just the best about explaining how to do your eye's & makeup in general. I love your video's. 💜💜💜💜💜💜. Would this be the same technique I always wear cluster lashes.

loved your content, waiting for more!!!!
Always a great video. Amy so helpful 🧡
❤your tutorials! You have helped immensely with my hooded eyes. Is there such a thing as brown false lashes? Black is just so stark on me.
Yes! I believe House of Lashes has some!
I would really like to see you put together a set of brushes for hooded eyes..
@@RisaDoesMakeup oh noooo!! Please don’t do anything that would irritate or hurt you!! I appreciate you taking my suggestion tho, you’re the best!!
My beloved, Lisa always slaying it ❤❤❤
I love this version for a daytime look. I use the earlier version for my nighttime looks. ❤
I'm that purple shimmer every day girl
Yay!!! I love it!
i have hooded eyes and i struggle with my eyeshadow disappearing either into my fold of my lid or up higher on my lid. super frustrating.
Thank you I will keep practicing till I get it right. ❤❤❤
Thank you Lisa I have hooded eyes but I never did when I was young I just notice about a yesr ago so weird!
Thanks Risa a well explained video & very helpful for the people who hooded eyes
See you soon ❤
Very helpful thank you so much.
Hooded Eye Master!
You’re simply the best ❤❤❤❤
Risa, it would be great if you could emphasize vegan and at least cruelty free makeup. We all want to do the right thing and those products have gotten so much better. Thanks!
