Yay, a skilled make up artist with a non-20 yr old face and skin! I'm so grateful. Just because our faces change, doesn't mean we don't still love the glamour. I gave up on wings years ago, as my eyelids lowered, but this has given me so many ideas to try again! Thanks so much, and you look utterly gorgeous!
I'm 29 and my lids are literally the same. As much as I wanted a "perfect" cat eyeliner, my lids would swallow them whole. I'm so grateful for all the videos I've stumbled upon that have shown me the makeup options I have. Thank you!
I almost cried when I saw this video come up in my searches...this is the first time on youtube I've ever seen someone with a true hood like mine, I've tried all sorts of search terms and never come close to finding someone with the same to-the-lashes hood that I have
33 years old with hooded eyes, my lids touch my lashes, almost like pouches of fat or something. I used to love doing my eyeliner but haven’t worn any for over 1.5 years as I just couldn’t navigate around my newer eye shape. I’m exited to try this and tweak it for my own eyes. Thank you so much. You are so very beautiful with and without makeup.
Im in my twenties and I’ve felt so discouraged recently because my eyes are already this hooded and I love to do makeup but my options are so limited. It’s so good to find your channel. Thank you for posting. ❤️
I'm SO glad to have found someone with the same kind of hood, where the hood line extends below the lower lash line. In all the other hooded liner tutorials I've seen, the person has a hooded eye but the hood doesn't cause that extension and I can't relate. My upper lash line also extends down and below my lower, making liner extra hard. This was really helpful - I may not have to give up on liner! I love how you blended the liner in with the eyeshadows and the colors look gorgeous. I want to get the pencil you're using. Until then, do you think I can use the Marc Jacobs highliner that I already have? The only issue I have with it is that it gets very blunt and the built in sharpener doesn't work very well.
I have the same problem with the Marc Jacobs liner - no idea how to you that sharpener without breaking the tip. You might want to try sharpening it by rubbing it against a paper towel. Turn it a little, then rub again...continue all the way around the tip. The softness is good on the Marc Jacobs - it's just getting a decent tip is hard.
Finally someone with hooded eyes like mine doing a hooded eye tutorial. I've seen so many gals that really their eyes are not hooded yet they try to explain how to do a wing on "hooded eyes". I love this technique and I am going to try it.
Me too! It's so frustrating, every time I click on one I think I'm going to learn something that will be helpful to me and it almost never happens - lol
@@TheHoodedLid My eyes are exactly like yours. I just found your channel this morning with this video and now I'm going to watch them all. Already subscribed. Thank you!!
Yes! I'm 38 and my lids are mega hooded.. maybe even slightly more than yours, but it's so depressing seeing tutorials that don't represent me. Thank you for the tutorial ❤️
I used to have a good friend in high school and I always admired her eye makeup.I always wondered why I couldn't create the look(I was 15 at the time lol) It was years later that I would identify with the dreaded hooded eye sisterhood, that's why I'm here😊
you are such a blast - "walk around with a triangle"! Finally someone with my crepey, aging eyes - such clear instruction. I hit that subscribe button so hard!! thank you!
I love your wings, and the way you do it is ingenious. My eyes are the same type of hooded as yours, but more so. I can't draw my wings over the hoods, it would look so fake. Your wings look fabulous and natural, and they change the appearance of your eye shape truly miraculously!
Thank you so much, Sari! My hood falls pretty low - it's below the lower lash line. Maybe give a try sometime when you have a few minutes to play around. Give yourself ample time and work slowly. You might be surprised!!
Wow this is the first video for hooded eyeliner application that truly teaches you how to do it! Thank you! Normally all I see is women without hooded lids trying to teach this and it literally makes no sense! So thank you!🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
47 years old on Monday and FINALLY have a viable option for my hooded eyes with a crease that extends past the corner of my eye. I kept seeing these tuts and being like, that is not going to work for me, are my eyes just droopy and not even hooded? LOL Thank you!
This looks amazing with your eyes opened and closed, which I’ve basically never been able to find in a tutorial in years and years of searching. Your technique is fantastic and I am so excited I’m about to run into my bathroom at 11pm and try it myself.
You’re very beautiful. Your skin looks awesome. I’m 58 I have bad hooded eyes also. I learned to minimize the top of lid with the darker color it really helps. Also use eye shadow for the wing mine always smears. Drives me crazy. God Bless you.
a big thanks for showing this. Ich do have hooded eyes on the outer corner, like you do, and i have alwas struggled with the liner. Thanks to you i know why it always looked so different compared to the tutorials (even for hooded eyes). So i will try an eyeliner once again instead of beleiving that i suck at doing this. Greetings from germany and thanks to youtube, that unexpectedly presented me a video, i am interested in 😆 thumb is up
Thank you!! I'm in my late 30s and I've been struggling with the sagging, hooded eyelids. I think this is going to help me a great deal. I never thought to make the wing a bit higher, not connected to the lower lash line. I always start at the lower lid and then it ends up smudging and not looking like a nice swooping eye liner. The corner of my eye is a problem area that really drops down, so I can see how if I avoid that area completely and work above it, it will work much better! Thanks again.
Your tone is so warm and welcoming~! I always love seeing such beautiful women sharing their hooded eye techniques, it makes me feel so much less intimidated by makeup!
Thank you, finally a hooded eye liner video for very hooded lids. My top lid sits on my lash line making eye liner impossible also mine crease and droop right to the edge of the eye corner. If I wear any eyeliner it usually transfers to the top of the Brow. This video was very insightful. I'm going to give this a go. You look lovely.
I hope it works for you - I have the SAME issue with liner transferring up to the brow bone area. This liner will set up - you just have to give it a few minutes and not open your eyes all the way while it's setting up
Wow! That was the most helpful technique I have ever seen. I can't wait to get up in the morning to try this. I would never have thought to draw the triangle so far from the eye. Initially I said, What is this lady doing?"! Your technique totally will help me keep from smearing liner everywhere when I let go of the stronghold I USED to use to pull my hood up to my eyebrows!
I really like this technique I've got hooded eyes exactly like yours going to try today I'm not very good with make-up you've taught me alot thank you new subscriber
I love how this looks on you, it's a beautiful wing and very refreshing! I don't know how It will work on my hooded eyes, but I definetely want to try. I never knew about doing this half water line part leaving the outside without. Thank you for this video!
Yes!!!! From the floating triangle, to the use of the VB sajal liner (I think there are only a few colours I'm missing, they're so good!). Thank you for normalising the kid that comes down past the lower lid. Great job.
I reasemble the sharpener and clean the plastic fully under water. I clean the blade seperately. I let it dry overnight. It's so easy and i always have a clean sharpener to use.
Thank you so much for that demonstration. I have exactly the same kind of hooded eyes as you have and so I really appreciated you showing how to do a very nice Wing Look and also the eye shadow. Maybe in the future you will demonstrate more on eye shadows for hooded eyes because I always have problems in that area. This was the first time I came across your channel but I will be looking for it now all the time. Thank you so much!!!
What I love about this besides the technique is it shows how much you've experimented until you got it right!! You didn't give up! And this is one of those situations where you do your face better than any makeup artist! It would take time & experimenting to figure out how to do this right. I'm very impressed 🤍
I love this! My eyelids have become more hooded with age (yayyy sure we can all relate, lol) and have been having trouble with getting my eyes looking open and awake. I love your technique and the final look is beautiful on you!
As I entered my 40s, my hoods got worse, my eyes are now pretty much hooded like yours. Thank you for this tutorial, I kinda gave up on winged lining as the traditional way just looks horrible. I will try your method, it looks beautiful on you.
Hi, I've been looking around, and have decided to try Kjaer Weiss tinted moisturiser, I am 69yrs old and have been using clarins tinted moisturier, and just wanted a change. I accidently came across your video, the product looks absolutely beautiful on you. Thanks for your informative video
Thank you for making this!!! All of the other videos of "hooded eyes" are 20 year olds that have nothing near actual hooded and aging eyes!!! You're extremely talented and type voice is very calm I love it!
Love love love! And I’m not really a winged eye lady, but now I’m going to follow you:)! This is an amazing tutorial and I am so grateful for your expert, inspiring and brilliant approach. I love your sense of humor and your sense of working with the existing eye shape and resulting beautiful take! It’s wonderful! You are divine:). Thank you for walking us into possibilities💕
I have one eye that is more hooded than the other. As you said, they're not even, they're never gonna be and you have to be okay with that -that gives me so much peace!
Oh my goodness!!! I wish I had found you ages ago!!!! I have struggled so much with trying to apply makeup to my hooded eyelids…. I have 1cm excess over 1 eye and 1.5 cm excess over the other one and have just been granted funding from the NHS to have the excess removed because they now rest on my eyelashes and I can see a black line at the top of my vision and it is also giving me severe headaches. The operation is still a few months away so I’ll give this a go. Thank you!!
this was awesome, i'm always hopeless when i look tutorials for hooded eyes and this was so unique, it may work on my eyes. You look sooo beautiful and your voice is so nice :) thank you!! i'm definitely trying this!
I like your comment on not having both eyes looking exactly the same. Might right eye is more hooded than my left and I just have an asymmetrical face, even on my lips. The actress Jane Seymour also has an asymmetrical face and two different eye colors. I think it really adds character. Going to try using your advice in this video for sure!
I agree! So many people don't seem to understand that hooded lids come in many shapes and sizes. I'll often give little tips when I'm reviewing and trying eyeshadow palettes!
I have exceptionally hooded lashes and I've always wanted to know how I could create a "flick" which wouldn't go "wonky" as soon as I relaxed my eye. Until this video, the best advice I heard was about thirty years ago (draw your eyeliner as usual, stopping where the lashes begin to get shorter at the outer corner. Then draw your flick at 90° to the lash line!). Surprisingly, it does work but I have to say, your technique works better. Thanks for the tip!
Yay ! Just found you ! Your channel name says it all ! Gonna subscribe. I’m 47 and have always hated my hoods . But now they’re very droopy and I have bad eye bags . The only makeup I’ll wear is eyeliner, mascara and lipstick. I hate taking time to do makeup and it makes me look way older or breaks me out anyway. Thanks so much ❤❤❤❤
Finally I find you … I have the same hood since I was a kid not by ageing. I like you way.. my problem is different hood for the two eyes so without eyeliner no one will know but I like and adore eyeliner 😍😍😍
My hoods are almost identical to yours except mine fall on top of the lashes. They also extend below the lower eye line more than yours. But I'm going to try your method. I saw another woman do something similar once but she just did a stark wing with no shadow or blending and it looked weird when she looked down. I'm going to try your method and see if it works for me. Thank you!
I had given up on my wings for a few years now and am thrilled to know that I can have them again with a little practice. Eureka! You’re the very first tutorial of a person with hooded eyes like mine. I’m 59 and fighting gravity, now I’ll do it with beautiful wings to boot. Thank you sOoo much, you are brilliant! Couldn’t press subscribe fast enough (^_*) Truly love how stunning your eyes look!
Thanks. This really helped since I'm getting older. Your method made you look younger. I just hope I do this right. I don't wear makeup very often, only a couple of times of the year
So happy to find this - my hoods are very similar and I also have natural puffiness under my eyes. I've come very close to this myself but here I feel that I've found The Trick! Thank you!
my mom always loves when I do my makeup, and asked me to teach her how to do makeup like I do! her eyes are a bit more hooded than mine, so this is super helpful for me! thank you!
I have revisited your excellent tutorial and will give this a go - my eyes are very similar in terms of hood and skin creasing and I get so disheartened so this is something I definitely will try. Thank you so much!
Yay your hoods are like mine! Thank you for this video, I'd sorted worked it out with just terrible trial and error, but it was really helpful having you be so confident and positive. You are absolutely beautiful :)
Best liner and shadow video I've yet seen, I have hooded eyes bit like yours - never wore makeup pre menopause, Would love a video about liner and shadow for hooded eyes: brushes, placement - love your idea of putting matte and slightly darker shadow to recede the hood (thanks for mentioning the kind of brush needed.) There are so many brush sets out there in addition to the shadow-liner bit careful attention to brush choice and why would be so helpful. Thanks. I've just subscribed, you look Gorgeous and I love the idea of embracing who we are, eye socket anatomy included. G
Thanks, Gaby! I do have several videos on hooded eyes - check my playlists. I also give little tips when I review eyeshadows. Also, check out my "Foxy" eye video. In that I talk about a different kind of liner placement.
Great video. Finally a beautiful mature woman with the same problems I have and not a twenty year old that doesn’t have a clue what a hooded eye is. Thank so much for sharing great tips.
Thank God! I finally found someone who has hoods very similar to mine! And a bonus is you're older like me and not a 19yr old spring chicken with perfect unlined skin. Thanks for the video!
Thank you! I found your video inspiring! I have hooded eyes very similar to yours and I am looking forward to utilising your technique. It looks beautiful on you!❤
My eyes are pretty much hooded like yours except I have 3 folds on the outer corner to deal with. It’s quite something every time I have success. But I do each time. You are a beautiful woman. Thank you fir this video.
@@TheHoodedLid I’m hoping for more winged eyeliner tips /tricks/ideas if you have others. I just found you today and I’m super excited to check out your playlist and see any new content. Thank you for sharing your knowledge sending positive thoughts and energy♥️
You have such gorgeous green eyes!! The bordeaux color especially brings them out in such a lovely way. I am young but I genetically have hoods that crease all the way down to the corners, just like yours. I cant tell you how long I've lamented not being able to wear winged eyeliner. I actually love the idea of just wearing triangles. I feel like that would be considered "trendy" for my age group but is actually done for the sake of my hoods!
Finally!! Someone with real hooded eyes. Just like mine!! So relieved. I was seeing all the eyeliner tutorials of RUclipsrs who supposedly had “hooded” eyes. They didn’t look hooded to me. It made me feel so bad for my hooded eyes. I thought my eyelids were abnormally hooded. Before those videos I actually used to love my hooded eyes. Your eyes look beautiful btw. ❤
I know exactly how you feel...if the videos don't work for you (and the creators insist they will), you feel like there's something wrong with you. It's really demoralizing. And I don't think I've ever heard anyone say, "not all hooded lids are alike, this may or may not work for you." So glad this was helpful to you!!
@@TheHoodedLid I am happy to say that this actually worked for me. I had a tough time with my right eye as that hood comes all the way down to the edge of my outer eye and I spent a good half hour trying and erasing with eye makeup remover until i found the right angle. I was so pleased with how it all turned out so thank you once again!
So grateful I found you!! One of my eyes is hooded like yours and the other one is slightly less hooded 🤦🏼♀️ so I have to use two different techniques and I'm trying to get them to match as best as I can but it's so hard!

Then draw your flick at 90° to the lash line!). Surprisingly, it does work but I have to say, your technique works better.
Thanks for the tip!
Literally have never seen a helpful winged liner guide for my eyes until now. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad it was helpful to you!!
Thanks. This really helped since I'm getting older. Your method made you look younger. I just hope I do this right. I don't wear makeup very often, only a couple of times of the year
Just found your channel. I must say: I admire your dedication to the cause❤❤❤❤❤you killed that wing! Thank you for sharing your skills with us🙌🏻🙏🏻
So happy to find this - my hoods are very similar and I also have natural puffiness under my eyes. I've come very close to this myself but here I feel that I've found The Trick! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
my mom always loves when I do my makeup, and asked me to teach her how to do makeup like I do! her eyes are a bit more hooded than mine, so this is super helpful for me! thank you!
Love that! You're welcome!
Enjoyed your video very much!!! Your attitude is wonderful. And you are calming & serene! Beautiful Lady, thank you!
Thank you so much!
I have revisited your excellent tutorial and will give this a go - my eyes are very similar in terms of hood and skin creasing and I get so disheartened so this is something I definitely will try. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
I have never been able to achieve a winged look with these hoods. This actually worked for me! Thank you for this video.
I'm so glad!
Great video. Finally a beautiful mature woman with the same problems I have and not a twenty year old that doesn’t have a clue what a hooded eye is. Thank so much for sharing great tips.
You are so welcome!
I love doing wing eyeliner because I think it help lift the face. Your method is interesting and different. Great video!💋
Ooh I like this. So clever! I was initially sceptical where it was going but I love it! Definitely going to have a play with this. ☺️
Have fun!
I do kind of like the triangle…that was pretty cool looking all on its own
Thank God! I finally found someone who has hoods very similar to mine! And a bonus is you're older like me and not a 19yr old spring chicken with perfect unlined skin. Thanks for the video!
Welcome aboard!
Thank you! I found your video inspiring! I have hooded eyes very similar to yours and I am looking forward to utilising your technique. It looks beautiful on you!❤
I hope it works for you!
it looks so crazy until you are done. idk if I have the confidence to do this, but I'm going to try!
You are an absolute magician!
Can't wait to try this.
You can do it!
My eyes are pretty much hooded like yours except I have 3 folds on the outer corner to deal with. It’s quite something every time I have success. But I do each time. You are a beautiful woman. Thank you fir this video.
Thank you for watching!!
More tips and ideas please!! This is brilliant. Best video I’ve seen yet for hooded eyes!! Thank you❤
I do have a hooded eye playlist - and am considering doing a few more soon!
@@TheHoodedLid I’m hoping for more winged eyeliner tips /tricks/ideas if you have others. I just found you today and I’m super excited to check out your playlist and see any new content. Thank you for sharing your knowledge sending positive thoughts and energy♥️
This is the first tutorial I have seen that actually addresses aging hooded eyes, seems like a lot of faff but will give it a go.....wish me luck 😁
You can do it!
Thank you for this…my eyes are hooded similar to yours, this really helps!
I think my hood is the same kind as yours, slightly less pronounced... This is soooo helpful, can't wait to give it a try!
Yay! Hope it works for you!
I 100% agree - graphic eyeliner is having a moment and I think you could carry it off as a modern take on a wing!
Que brillo tan saludable tiene su rostro. Gracias por ensenarnos su tecnica.
I loved the trick with the liner on the inside upper lid!
Oh goodness... this is so awesome. My hood drops all the way down just like yours and I cant wait to try this out! Thank you.
You are so welcome! Hope it works for you!
@@jeanmichelelee1933 So glad!!
Absolutely GORGEOUS I REALLY NEEDED THIS TUTORIAL because I truly needed assistance with the "extended hooded eyelids!" God Bless you!
Glad it was helpful!
I'm excited I found you! I am 35 and my eyes look just like yours and I cannot do liner in struggle so bad 😞😔
I love your realistic approach!
I'm so glad!
Great job, and I like the shimmer on the lid too!
Thank you! Cheers!
So grateful I found you!! One of my eyes is hooded like yours and the other one is slightly less hooded 🤦🏼♀️ so I have to use two different techniques and I'm trying to get them to match as best as I can but it's so hard!
My hooded eyes thank you for this. I am getting out some products and trying it! 🦋🦋🦋
