Replacing The Transmission Control Module On Our $1500 LR4 - "Is That All It Needs?"

We swap out the TCM on our 2010 Land Rover LR4 5.0 with a TCM & valve body from a 2012 LR4. The diagnosis code we were getting was P0915 Gearshift Position - Circuit Range / performance. ZF 6HP28

hey.i like your video. did you do any programation. what was the problem. the position sensor you show seem my problem the car wont start after changing the solenoide. you thing any tcm for lr3 would work?

We didn’t have to reprogram anything but did reset the transmission adaptation which is recommended after any service even just an oil change. Our LR4 wouldn’t start either, after checking codes and running some tests it was due to communication issues between the ECM & TCM. Yes any TCM from a LR3 or in our case an LR4 will work. Just can’t use one from say a Range Rover.
