Would never have worked properly on Dreamcast, GD ROM does not stream fast enough. It was marginal on PS2, and PS2's DVD drive is much much faster. Lack of RAM for the Dreamcast would also guarantee major downgrades to the game's assets as well as just lack of GD ROM storage space meaning way more compression and difficulty with asset quality

Ps2 got lots of downgrade version of games black ,re4 gta 3 v etc. Now dc is working on 16mb of real hardware wip my friend be patient ! Great stuff man impressive work pulling this off on hardware slightly inferior than the PS2 especially on the RAM side of things. As an idea, would it be worth reducing the draw distance down to gta 3 alpha levels (say from the February '01 build) maybe higher just so the frame rate is more stable?

Excellent job! Maybe you could disable the radio stations if you play from CD and have the option to activate it if you play from gdemu or dreamshell. I also wouldn't mind if the game ran at a lower resolution, since I'd be playing it on a CRT TV!

Was looking at the gitlab repo, is the replay system still active? If it is, that thing is a memory and cpu hog, it wasn't included in the PS2 version only the PC version.

@@2fernandoc1 yep, the pc version has tons more geometry. Things like fences, stare wells, water towers, billboards, etc. They're working on getting geometry down to ps2 levels or possibly lower with smart reductions most people will never really notice.

Well the Dreamcast GTA3 was the first in development cancelled kept the same assets it’s still Dreamcast under the hood ported on the ps2 Xbox, GC.
