Stevie Ray Vaughan was born in DallasTexas Oct 3, 1954 when his older brother Jimmie Vaughan was 3 years old, Jimmie is a great guitarist In his own right and had a band called The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Jimmie was the first to get an electric guitar and Stevie Ray loved it and would watch and listen to Jimmie play, Stevie Ray got his first guitar on his 7th birthday but it was a toy guitar but still Stevie Ray learned to play Wine Wine Wine and Thunderbird by Lonnie Mack. When Jimmie would get a new guitar he would give Stevie Ray his electric guitar. The song Texas Flood was written by Larry Davis and Joseph Scott in 1955,Larry Davis recorded it in 1958, Joseph Scott was having relationship problems so it's basically about a bad relationship, alot of people have performed Texas Flood but when Stevie Ray heard Larry Davis wasn't being paid any royalties Stevie Ray paid Larry Davis every dime. The guitar Stevie Ray is playing he bought in 1974 from Ray Henny's Heart Of Texas Music Shop in Austin Texas, it was a used guitar from another musician named Christopher Cross. Stevie Ray named it Lenny after his ex wife Lenora Bailey who he married on December 12, 1979 but divorced in Feb of 1987 after the divorce he renamed it #1. Stevie Ray put a band together called Triple Threat Reuve with a woman named Lou Ann Barton vocals but when she left Triple Threat Reuve on November 24, 1979 others followed but drummer Chris Layton joined the band on September 10, 1978 basses Tommy Shannon who was in a band called Krackerjack with Stevie Ray when Stevie Ray was in his teens joined the band on June 23, 1981 Stevie Ray changed the name to Double Trouble. Reese Wynans joined Double Trouble on keyboard on June 7, 1985. Stevie Ray's career only span 7 years but in that 7 yrs he won so many awards, Sep 13 1983 Stevie Ray won guitar player Magazine's Best New Talent, Best Electric Blues Guitar Player and Best Guitar Album with Texas Flood he is the only 2nd guitarist other than Jeff Beck to win Triple award guitarist. November 18, 1984 Stevie Ray won W. C. Handy National Blues Award, Entertainer Of The Year and Instermental Of The Year, he was the only white person to win either, he was the first musician to be inducted into The Austin Music Hall Of Fame in 1982, in 2000 he was inducted into The Blues Hall Of Fame. Stevie Ray was tuning his guitar on the neck of his guitar while playing, he could play behind his head, broken string, switched guitar in the middle of a solo and never missed a beat, one hand while adjusting the AMP'S, backwards, his teeth, his elbow and play behind his back longer than anyone past or present could. Stevie Ray was opening a show for Eric Clapton along with Robert Clay, Buddy Guy and his brother Jimmie on August 26th and 27th in East Troy Wisconsin at the Alpine Valley Music Theater and after Eric Clapton's set on the last day Stevie Ray, Buddy Guy, Robert Clay and Eric Clapton played Sweet Home Chicago, after the show on August 27,1990 Stevie Ray boarded a helicopter that crashed into the side of a mountain and everyone on board was killed instantly Stevie Ray was only 35. Imo Stevie Ray was and will always be THE GOAT.
Thank You so much for all of this information . . . and written so well . . . flowing as a story . . . of a master music maker . . . who created so much in a short time. . . though so intensely that it still vibrates through us.
I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin August 26th 1990. The next morning when I heard the horrible news was one of the saddest days of my life. The lineup was SRV, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy. RIP SRV!
I was at Eric Clapton's at Stonehenge (KC) the following, he was to be a there too..... Clapton dedicated the concert to SRV and the crowd were so sad and amazing❤
I'm over 65 years old and have been listening to Stevie for years. Since I'm getting ready to retire, I figured that I'm going to learn guitar. I went down and bought a Fender Stratocaster, which is what Stevie is using in this video, and learn to play it. I don't go fishing very often, I don't hunt, and I really can't afford to do a lot of things most guys do in retirement, so why not. Watching this guy play, I knew it would take a while to get used to it and I'd never get anywhere close to the talent level that SRV possessed. But, hey, I've got the time now. Wow. I never dreamed how far I would need to go to even play the simplest of things. Stevie started playing at 8 years old. I'm starting at 67. I don't have enough time to learn this much. Bottom line, just do it. Buy a guitar and start while you're still young. I'll be right there with you.
I got to see him play many times in Austin, Dallas, and at Manor Downs near Austin, several times with his older brother Jimmie. A little guy with huge hands. Most of his shows of course were never recorded. Some old tapes are surfacing recently. He always played amazingly well, but occasionally he’d hit another mystical level, like here. He would kind of go into a trance and tap into something, some source of music that he could find, and it was like music played through him and he was just holding on for dear life. I’ve never seen anything like it, and it made you feel like there was a God, or at least something bigger than us that we can’t really understand, because when he played that way it was beyond human. He’d just fly as hard as he could, with no idea what was coming next, but he’d never get lost or hit a dead end. Music from the Universe. You’d leave the place elated but exhausted and soaking wet. Walking out everyone was smiling but no one said a word. When he died all the magic evaporated from the Austin music scene.
Oh Wow! Lucky you! Thank you for your beautiful description. He was channeling, actually channeling music 🎶 as sound frequencies/vibrations/dimensions of The Universe . . . bringing them to us and taking us there.
"Pride and Joy", "Life Without You", "Look at Little Sister", and videos of his collaborations with Albert King, Johnny Copeland, and there's a video hardly anyone has ever reacted to, with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, Paul Butterfield, B.B King, all 4 playing together, which is totally out of this world!!!
Not only does he tune (or re-tune) his guitar mid performance but changes a broken string or two as well....as needed! He was one of the GOAT.... period.
Every time he played he puts on an absolute clinic on feel and dynamics. I am so glad they recorded this performance and the audio quality is so good because, IMHO, this is the greatest guitar performance ever. captured.
He practiced at least five hours a day. All he did was play guitar. He lived, ate and breathed guitar. It has been documented, in an early biography, that Stevie did actually tear a callous off of one of his fingers during a club gig one night. The club manager found him in his office, during the break, and Stevie was super gluing the callous back onto his finger! Not surprising. He started playing guitar when he was 7. He followed his older brother Jimmy. Check out Jimmy and Stevie Ray play Pipeline.
Hey Shon! Great reactions! Stevie was only about 30 years old here, and when he tweaked the string he was actually tuning one of the strings. It must have fallen a bit flat. To be able to tell that playing what he was playing is crazy. The circles on the neck are fret markers to make it easier to tell what fret your on. However, he closes his eyes while he's playing so it's all muscle memory to him. He also used 13 gauge strings which are very heavy. Normally guitar players will go anywhere from 9"s to 11's, but he was playing battery cables. Lol! The man was a beast and one of the greatest of all time. So sad that he was killed in a helicopter accident in 1990. Take a listen to this one STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN - Look At Little Sister || a string breaks ||. It's at Austin City Limits and he breaks a string. When you talk true professional, he switches out guitars and never misses a note and it doesn't phase him in the least. Have a great day!
@@1aleckman1 Yep. Showing my age, but I got to see him live once. Unfortunately it ended up being his last performance, and over 30 years later, I still can't believe the news of that helicopter crash. No one else like him, that's for sure.
@@sophistpig Wow! You actually got to see him live. That's great! And yes, I know, it was like a punch in the stomach when the news came out. Like Elvis, can you imagine where he would be today had he lived?
Hey Shon!!! Of course another fantastic reaction. Stevie Ray Vaughan was a master at his craft. He learned to play the guitar on his own and listening and watching other amazing blues musicians, one being his older brother, Jimmy. He was self taught. Super talented man for sure. You should watch " Look at Little Sister" live in Austin Texas in 1989 I think. I may be wrong on the date. It is well worth a watch. He breaks his guitar string and gets it replaced during the solo and you wouldn't even know he changed guitars. Such a smooth transition. It is such a crime that he was taken from us. He had his life back in order and was sober for several years as well. I wish he was still here to grace us with his pure talent. There will never be another Stevie Ray!!! He also did another song called Life Without You. Such a beautiful song and when he plays his solos in it, he makes his guitar sing. I kid you not. Take the time to listen to it as well. You wont be disappointed, I promise you. Having said that I don't think there is any songs that he did that were not fuc^&*g incredible. Keep doing your reactions. You are a breath of fresh air... Cheers from Canada🥂🥂
SRV's older brother has said that Stevie would practice guitar until the callouses tore off of his fingers, then he would superglue them back on and keep practicing.
Hey Shon, thank you for doing this one. It's an incredible performance. The reason it can flood down in Texas is oddly enough because it's so dry. If it rains an all out storm like everyone gets sometimes, lakes and rivers rise and the ground in Texas can't drink it in fast enough so there is major run off causing the flooding. Love to you and the channel, have a wonderful day.
I lived in Dallas quite a few years and yes it does flood. The rain does not soak into that hard Texas clay and many streets get water sunning over them. People get swept away.
If you want to hear him sing more I suggest Life Without You at The Capital, he sings it beautifully and Tin Pan Alley with Johnny Copeland where is voice is more gritty. These are two of my favorites but they all are great!!!
So happy to see you do Stevie. Hr was a true Texas legend and this is Texas blues at its finest. I had the honor of meeting him on a couple if occasion. He was s very humble man. He is truly missed. Eric Clapton said he was the only one that could make him hang up his guitar for good. This was definitely one his best performances. So glad you enjoyed this❤ much love ❤ Yes Texas can flood big time in certain areas. Btw Stevie is from Dallas lol. Stevie and guitar were one entity.
I grew up in Austin, TX and Stevie is a staple in that town. I grew up hearing all different kinds of music from all different genres. It was awesome. Great song choice! Listen to his rendition of Voodoo Child..it will blow your mind.
His wonderful voice...and a face peeling solo...is best showcased on his song 'Ain't Gonna N' Give Up on Love' live at the Capital Theatre. His voice goes thru soft, sensitive tones to a soulful growl of passion that his writing was made for. Grown folks music....without the ' tricks' that alot of people get distracted by. Just straight Texas Blues by a Texas bluesman, defining authentic.
Stevie had a fantastic voice ❤ Elvis & Stevie i never tire of watching live...altho pigeon holed as rock & roll legend and blues legend respectively...both crossed genres, at their best live, mesmerising & very humble guys...distinctive dress styles & totally commited to their artform but as Elvis was also a natural actor..Stevie was a natural singer...both forgotten due to their otherworldly performances in their respective known talents. Both gone way too soon! Love Stevie & his band Double Trouble...they were tight esp when Reece joined on keyboards ❤ Great reaction...more Stevie plzz...'eyes closed & away he goes'!! 🙏❣🙏 "LIFE WITHOUT YOU" LIVE at Capitol Theatre he sings more..a song he wrote for a friend who died. Stevie was self taught & like Elvis didnt read music....allows for a more creative flow imo ❤
And I say this as a guitar player, but yeah man it's difficult not to just abscess on watching his left hand, but you definitely got to check out everything he's doing with his right hand too.
Yeah my man anytime you see bands live and that's🎉 pretty much any band you see not just Stevie Ray but the lights the spotlights that's on them, them lights put off heat and you got a stage full of them and they're all pointed at you yes it gets hot and sweaty you feel me PS- check out "CROSSFIRE" "THE HOUSE IS A ROCKIN" "THE SKY IS CRYING" "PRIDE AND JOY" Just to name a few Keep up the good work
STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN WAS TO THE GUITAR, WHAT ELVIS WAS TO ROCK AND ROLL!!!! AND HE HAS AN UNREAL VOICE! THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER LIKE HIM ON PLANET EARTH!!!!...ENJOY!!!!!
Subbed in support of your declaration. Enjoy the process. Music is the ultimate vacation/therapy and to be able to tell your own story, through instrumentation, is everything. Just dont kick yourself if you never become Stevie. lol
BB King said most guitarists play words, he said himself BB played sentences but Stevie played paragraphs, Eric Clapton said Stevie makes people want to play the guitar and he made people that played guitars stop playing guitars.
Great reaction! This is one of my all time favorites. Truly an unbelievable performance. This song, "Little Wing", and his cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child" all super tough. RIP SRV🙏
The sweat comes mostly from the stage lights and warm bodies in the club. The stage is higher and the heat from the crowd rises to the stage. It also takes a lot of energy, mental and physical.
Eric Clapton said something like, Stevie Ray makes people who never played the guitar want to play the guitar and people who have always played the guitar quit playing. It has been said that when SRV got done playing his guitar, his guitar needed to have a cigarette. I don't always listen to Stevie Ray, but when I do, my neighbors do too. If you dig his singing, check out Pride and Joy, Crossfire, and/or Tightrope. If you dig his talent on the guitar, check out Life Without You 9/21/1985 Capital Theatre Passaic NJ. He broke a string and had a guitar change at the start of the song. His new guitar was not tuned right and and had to fix that on the fly, dropped, his pick, and even chipped a tooth in this video. If you watch, you will see how he chipped his tooth. But consider all that and you will still give a standing O at the end of the song. Also, for some really far out guitar work, you will want to see Third Stone From the Sun (any performance), but I do know that Third Stone Live at El Mocambo was a true work of art that is out of this world. I sure would have liked to been at the El Mocambo concert. May Stevie Ray Vaughan Rest In Peace.
I am sorry that I left off Cold Shot, Voodoo Child, Look At Little Sister, Tin Pan Alley with Johnny Copeland and all the rest of Stevie's music. It's all great stuff to me.
El Mocambo is the right version 👍 When big storm systems including hurricanes come through, it can flood in the hill country and coastal areas. I lost two family members in a flood in the 70s
I really love this reaction!!! So much fun to watch people react to his greatness. I live Life By The Drop it shows his voice more and I believe was one of the last songs he recorded before he died.
Those faces that SRV is making, that's known as "stank face". You know a guitar player is really feeling the note, squeezing it out of the instrument with full emotion when they make their "stank face". (So named because it looks like the player smelled something that stank so bad, they twisted up their face.) You'll even see empathetic musicians make the stank face even when another guitarist is really playing from the depths of their soul. Although audiences and onlookers might think it looks odd, some of the uninitiated might even mock it, a true musician can play the "stankiest" riff with that face and it comes off cool as hell. (One of the reasons I love watching live performances.)
I was fortunate enough to see Stevie & Double Trouble live 3 times during my time living in the Dallas area in the '80s and he certainly is the GOAT, IMO. Good stuff Shon!
SRV's catalogue is vast, deep and wide. One of the best ever. talk about playing with feeling!!!! by the by "sound check"....SRV is waking up, yawns, picks a boog and shreds !!!! Looking like a G Damn pimp too !!! Totally rocks it!
Check out his songs "life without you" Live @ Caputal theater & "Tin Pan Alley" with Johnny Copeland LIVE I know You've been blown about away by what you've seen from him so far, well man get ready when you watch these 2 you're gonna be on the floor or the ceiling one.
Yes it floods in Texas, especially in the Houston area because Houston sits in kind of a bowl. I was there several times as a Red Cross Volunteer when it floods
Dude! Just started watching your reactions and it's right on, for sure. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard on the radio Stevie died in a helicopter crash. Sad, sad day. SUBD by the way.
I don't know, Shon. SRV doesn't inspire me to play guitar. He depresses me to the point I don't ever want to play again! His talent is insane. You're born with that gift; you don't learn it.
SRV RIP I've read where others said what I would have said. So... The stage lights back then were extremely hot and they focused all their heat as well as their light. One reason why many musicians were shirtless and had large fans blowing on them. SRV played with the likes of BB King, Albert King, Albert Collins just to name a few. He's also plays on one of David Bowie's albums. SRV was killed in a helicopter crash with some of Eric Clapton's crew. Eric Clapton and him were very good friends. And was with him the night of the crash, just not on that flight. I recommend look at little sister. 🤠🏞️🐂
The little stuff that you're talking about in playing an instrument, especially in a live setting, and I'm glad you noticed him reach up to the tuning peg and do a slight adjustment on that high E, but this is true of almost any instrument. It's just part of playing music and part of playing an instrument. And of course it's a mistake to think of an electric guitar like that as a standalone because every effects pedal you're playing through and your combination of amps and speakers and just so many things also deserve attention and shape your overall sound and allow you to play what you really want to play. So there is just so much that goes into it. I'm a lifelong musician and band guy and recording studio guy in that kind of thing, but I absolutely think you should get an instrument and take a few lessons and anymore now and RUclips you can go a long ways as well. There's just something so gratifying about it. And I believe a lot about being an athlete transfers over to it.
He wrote a beautiful song to his friend that died suddenly who made his beautiful white guitar called Charlie, made by Charlie, called LIFE WITHOUT YOU 1985 CAPITOL THEATER.
I grew up in Central Florida. Hubby grew up in the mid-South. I introduced him to Prince while he introduced me to SRV. Both genius guitarists, and both gone way too soon. RIP Prince & Stevie. Blues as they are supposed to be. Our home office has only 2 posters - the Under The Cherry Moon movie poster (Prince) and a painting of Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Stevie Ray Vaughan was born to play the guitar. He could not have been anything else but what he was. A true Texas Tornado. Try to always react to live versions where he lets loose on those solos. Have you done 'Tin Pan Alley's (with Johnny Copeland)? The strumming in that will drop your jaw. I love Stevie's voice, like honey poured over gravel, it's been said. "Couldn't Stand the Weather", incredible. "Change It", from 'Live Alive", the singing and guitar here, perfection. "Cold Shot" and "Look at little Sister" both from El Macombo, clean playing. The looks on his face? He's someplace else, maybe Stevie Ray Vaughan Land. ☮️to all. RIP, King SRV.
SRV-- youust react to LIVE performances only!! Try his Change It, and his Austin City Limits concert in 89- Mary Had a Little Lamb, Tightrope, Crossfire etc.... Also his "Dirty Pool" live. It wil blow you away.
I’ve herd when srv was doing collars with bb king. Bb said this boy good and srv he didn’t wanna be a singer and bb said you just gotta find the song your soul wants to sing when you play. And def srv has some major influences from Hendrix and some. But he makes them all go yes that’s what I wanted to play watch some bb king srv collars and srv and Jeff healey collars amazing what they all did with a guitar.
I believe the studio cuts are going to be a better Avenue for hearing his voice more because they don't always have the extended solos that the live shows did although certain songs were built for that anyway, but he's got so many great ones for singing. Love-struck Baby and Mary Had a Little Lamb would be a couple of great ones to start with.
There’s two I can recommend if you want to hear him singing more. Life Without You Live from the Capitol Theater, and Life by the Drop. I think the studio version is the only one that exists. But there may be a live version as well.
Brother, you want songs where he singss more, I recommend dirty pool, tin pan Alley with Jonny copeland, life without you, ain't gonna give up on love, and change it. R.I.P SRV!
I'm from the NYC area. SRV was one of the only great musicians in the 80's. I had the honor of seeing him three times. Once in the great Radio City Music Hall. His opening act were The Honeydrippers (and I am a die hard Led Zeppelin fan). Imagine Robert Plant's band having to open for SRV It was as if the audience didn't exist (in a great way). RCMH is a small venue, so you saw the artist up close, and the acoustics are fantastic. If you like to read, pick up "Texas Flood" it's SRV's biography, it isn't written like an ordinary biography. There are testimonials from industry greats regarding Stevie. He was the GOAT in every way, R.I.P. Stevie!
Check out “life without you” from Passaic New Jersey 1985 he seems a lot and that’s on or there’s also one I think it’s from a 1985 concert in Austin Texas called “leave my girl alone” I think you’ll like it!🔥🎸
The G.O.A.T.,He Was and Is the Best,Ever !! Everyone is In Second Place,God needed Stevie is Heaven to be with others to have a Blues and Rock Band 😇R.I.P. my Brother
Thanks, kid! SRV the blues GOAT... and the best "stank face" evah! lol (also that you noted his "tuning" - he was amazing.. you should also watch videos where he breaks strings.. and you can't even TELL)
The absolute GREATEST OF ALL TIME. 🐐 Also,in regard to sweating, this was 83. He didn't get clean and sober until Oct 86, so the drugs had a lot to do with the perspiration, as well as the lights.
I wasn't going to say it. He was passed out just a hour before the concert and they finally managed to get him up. Thats what i heard anyway. He still managed to pull this off which was amazing.
@@claranielsen3382 The whole Macombo show he was in top form. If he was on drugs it was the perfect amount. I saw him 7 times. I would make a point to see him every time he came to New York.
When guitars fall asleep at night they dream Stevie is playing them. Miss you Stevie.

And Voodoo Child in Nashville. If you can play Jimi Hendrix behind your back with your eyes closed, you are a GOAT!!!

It's at Austin City Limits and he breaks a string. When you talk true professional, he switches out guitars and never misses a note and it doesn't phase him in the least. Have a great day!
Battery cables!!! 😂😂😂
@@sophistpig the man was absolutely nuts! Apparently he was only 5'5", but his hands were huge. He was destined to be a guitar player. Lol!
I think he must have had some pretty strong hands. My favorite all time!! ❤❤❤
I couldn't even plug the cord into the guitar behind my back. He did that effortlessly as well.
I've just tried that I think I've dislocated my shoulder 😅
He lived it he felt it and played. He sweats and speaks with the guitar
Yes nephew. I see you. Thanks, this is classic SRV. 🖤🖤🖤🤎🤎🤎
One of the greatest guitarists of all time. A true legend
I lived in Dallas quite a few years and yes it does flood. The rain does not soak into that hard Texas clay and many streets get water sunning over them. People get swept away.
My favorite song of his is The Sky id Crying///BTW the genre is blues
Also, I don't think Stevie ever played a song the same way twice. Constantly improvising. Such a talent, RIP.
Oh yea.Leave my girl alone live at Austin City Limits is a must!! He sings alot
If you want to hear him sing more I suggest Life Without You at The Capital, he sings it beautifully and Tin Pan Alley with Johnny Copeland where is voice is more gritty. These are two of my favorites but they all are great!!!
Absolutely, I love that concert, Montreax 86, and he’s having SO much fun with Johnny Copeland up on stage with them.
Life without you. Great vocals
Oh Pride and Joy is a great song to check out.
I grew up in Austin, TX and Stevie is a staple in that town. I grew up hearing all different kinds of music from all different genres. It was awesome. Great song choice! Listen to his rendition of Voodoo Child..it will blow your mind.
You have to check out Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan - Born Under A Bad Sign (In Session ).
Try "Tin Pan Alley". SRV and Johnny Copeland
You can listen to any song of his and never be disappointed and see something new each time ♡ Great reaction ♡♡
His song "life without you" his voice is beautiful!
That is not sweat. That is pure soul coming out of every pore of his body
Pride and joy
Stevie had a fantastic voice ❤
Elvis & Stevie i never tire of watching live...altho pigeon holed as rock & roll legend and blues legend respectively...both crossed genres, at their best live, mesmerising & very humble guys...distinctive dress styles & totally commited to their artform but as Elvis was also a natural actor..Stevie was a natural singer...both forgotten due to their otherworldly performances in their respective known talents. Both gone way too soon!
Love Stevie & his band Double Trouble...they were tight esp when Reece joined on keyboards ❤
Great reaction...more Stevie plzz...'eyes closed & away he goes'!! 🙏❣🙏
"LIFE WITHOUT YOU" LIVE at Capitol Theatre he sings more..a song he wrote for a friend who died. Stevie was self taught & like Elvis didnt read music....allows for a more creative flow imo ❤
And I say this as a guitar player, but yeah man it's difficult not to just abscess on watching his left hand, but you definitely got to check out everything he's doing with his right hand too.
The crowd was probably rocking back and forth, grooving to the music and most of their eyes are on Stevie Ray.
He has been playing almost his whole life ♡ He is the Guitar 🎸 ♡♡♡♡
He's tuning it. Amazing. I don't think I've seen anyone do this. His ear for tune was obviously on point!
Yeah my man anytime you see bands live and that's🎉 pretty much any band you see not just Stevie Ray but the lights the spotlights that's on them, them lights put off heat and you got a stage full of them and they're all pointed at you yes it gets hot and sweaty you feel me
PS- check out
"CROSSFIRE"
"THE HOUSE IS A ROCKIN"
"THE SKY IS CRYING"
"PRIDE AND JOY"
Just to name a few
Keep up the good work
STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN WAS TO THE GUITAR, WHAT ELVIS WAS TO ROCK AND ROLL!!!! AND HE HAS AN UNREAL VOICE! THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER LIKE HIM ON PLANET EARTH!!!!...ENJOY!!!!!
SRV was and is the G.O.A.T., you should watch the entire concert, he was already several songs in and with those lights it's hot as fk.
SRV THE GREATEST Guitar player ever, BB king called him that
Subbed in support of your declaration.
RIP SRV🙏
The guitar lit up a cigarette after what Stevie did to it!
The sweat comes mostly from the stage lights and warm bodies in the club. The stage is higher and the heat from the crowd rises to the stage. It also takes a lot of energy, mental and physical.
.. and cocaine, don't forget the cocaine
Stevie inspired those who never held a guitar to pick one up and those who have played a lifetime to put theirs away. ~Eric Clapton
He NEVER STALLED!
Yes, His low notes have a sort of Shiver to them.
El Mocambo is the right version 👍
When big storm systems including hurricanes come through, it can flood in the hill country and coastal areas. I lost two family members in a flood in the 70s
I really love this reaction!!! So much fun to watch people react to his greatness. I live Life By The Drop it shows his voice more and I believe was one of the last songs he recorded before he died.
LIFE BY THE DROP is one of his best and was played at his funeral. RIP SRV🎸
Thank You for explaining that.
I was fortunate enough to see Stevie & Double Trouble live 3 times during my time living in the Dallas area in the '80s and he certainly is the GOAT, IMO. Good stuff Shon!
Rest in peace, Stevie Ray! I loved catching you in DC way back in the day!
Tin Pan Alley Live at Montreaux with Johnny Copeland 1985. You really hear his voice
SRV's catalogue is vast, deep and wide. One of the best ever. talk about playing with feeling!!!!
by the by
"sound check"....SRV is waking up, yawns, picks a boog and shreds !!!! Looking like a G Damn pimp too !!! Totally rocks it!
Check out his songs "life without you" Live @ Caputal theater & "Tin Pan Alley" with Johnny Copeland LIVE
I know You've been blown about away by what you've seen from him so far, well man get ready when you watch these 2 you're gonna be on the floor or the ceiling one.
Life without you at the capital theater. He sings quite a bit on that one
Pride N Joy! A must listen!
The GOAT. I'll argue with anyone on that. Jimi was a god for sure but SRV was without peer.
Yes it floods in Texas, especially in the Houston area because Houston sits in kind of a bowl. I was there several times as a Red Cross Volunteer when it floods
Life without you, you will love his voice on that one!!!
SRV RIP
I've read where others said what I would have said.
The GOAT♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
A guitar God taken to heaven too soon for us mortals. 🎉
Literally subscribed to see if you keep your promise to get a guitar at 100k subscribers. Love the reactions bro. Keep it up.
If you want another great SRV reaction do little wing live at the El mocambo same concert it's just like this song , greatness
RIP SV, the GOAT
There’s two I can recommend if you want to hear him singing more. Life Without You Live from the Capitol Theater, and Life by the Drop. I think the studio version is the only one that exists. But there may be a live version as well.
Absolutely
He sings a lot on a song called pride and joy, it's a great song
Brother, you want songs where he singss more, I recommend dirty pool, tin pan Alley with Jonny copeland, life without you, ain't gonna give up on love, and change it.
R.I.P SRV!
He never put that guitar down. Look at all the paint off it. He played that guitar every waking moment.
Stevie started playing guitar at age 7. He perfected it! NO ONE will EVER come close to him.
Just fyi - The El Mocambo is a bar in Toronto. The Rolling Stones played there also.
Stevie!
Check out “life without you” from Passaic New Jersey 1985 he seems a lot and that’s on or there’s also one I think it’s from a 1985 concert in Austin Texas called “leave my girl alone” I think you’ll like it!🔥🎸
*Sings
Stage lights are hot, man. Sweat just happens.
Yeahhh i figured, or maybe their music just so fire it makes them sweat😂
Also...cocaine? It was the 80s
The G.O.A.T.,He Was and Is the Best,Ever !! Everyone is In Second Place,God needed Stevie is Heaven to be with others to have a Blues and Rock Band 😇R.I.P. my Brother
He sings more in ain't gone n give up on love from capital theater
Thanks, kid! SRV the blues GOAT... and the best "stank face" evah! lol (also that you noted his "tuning" - he was amazing.. you should also watch videos where he breaks strings.. and you can't even TELL)
Pride and Joy (Live with Albert King) by Stevie Ray Vaughn. Sings more
SRV didn't play the guitar, he attacked it. 😎
Stevie Ray is the GOAT!
SRV was REAL. I recommend "Lenny" live. Same venue, I think. All soul. Thanks for the react!
The absolute GREATEST OF ALL TIME. 🐐
Also,in regard to sweating, this was 83.
@@claranielsen3382
The whole Macombo show he was in top form. If he was on drugs it was the perfect amount.
I saw him 7 times. I would make a point to see him every time he came to New York.
