My son was 4 when he discovered Hendrix and SRV live sets on my RUclips playlist and just about had smoke coming out of his ears he was so mind blown. There is hope after all for his generation. Lol
My Dad and Aunt went to school with SRV at Skyline Highschool in DALLAS TEXAS. A little known fact is that Dallas teenagers in the 50s and 60s often went well.. and still do meet up in the black entertainment district in Dallas called Deep Ellum, SRV frequented the local Dallas Blues scene along with my family listening to the GREATEST bluesmen that ever lived. Here in Dallas, we are serious about our BLUES!!! We eat BBQ and listen to the BLUES! My Dad said he was a nice guy, always shared his weed and all the girls had crushes on him because he would perform for them! Who wouldn't LOVE SRV? He was an amazing guitarist and he is OUR HERO here in DALLAS! We miss him every day, we erected several statues and memorials for our lost brother. I am really glad that you like him, that is such a compliment that you feel the same way we do about him!!!! RIP SRV
Having no words but wow while trying to take in the enormity of this man's talent is understandable because you need to pick your jaw up first! The man meshes, melds, and surrenders to the River of music and just lets it flow where it wants to take him. He had said if he thinks about it he gets in his own way and it doesn't work. He allows us to witness this sweet surrender and we are captured along with him. 🎶🎶. Great reaction‼️
You have just seen a bonafide legend - I saw him live twice back in the day and ill never forget it his talent and passion just blows your mind. RIP SRV.
THE GOAT - no one played with more passion - you could feel his soul -- God given gift? maybe, but he worked hard at his craft to get where he was- he was born to play that Strat- he totally dominated his guitar
One may not think this matters. I beg to differ. What gage strings did they play? Not taking anything away from any guitarist, but a guitarist that can play like Stevie and bend 13 gage strings a full fret and still break them... Everyone has their opinion, and I respect that...this is mine.
We have to give credit where it’s due he was the greatest guitar player that ever lived even even a Jimi Hendrix looked up to him he was the only white guy that was ever inducted in the blues Hall of Fame he died in a crash in 19 August 28, 1990 on his way to see his brother he was the greatest and we can look at them today and his music is still wonderful so I hope that we do give him the credit and really you know playing songs and appreciate them Liz the queen
All the telephone lines are down, and A lot of people put there guitars down, and said fuck it, after hearing and watching Stevie play !!! Than they cried at how good he was !
LOL.... she said "WOW" way before the video got to the "really, real WOW part"... I was saying to myself... "Just wait young lady! Here comes the WOW in just a minute!" .... then came the part where he plays ... behind his back! That's the BIG WOW! ... LOL! I saw this way back in the mid 80's.... when I bought the VHS tape of Stevie Ray Vaughan LIVE AT THE EL MACOMBO! I showed played that vhs tape for all my friends... and the were totally "Blown away " when it came to the part where he plays that last verse... "Behind His Back"... like I told them ... Stevie Ray Vaughan is the G.O.A.T. !! R.I.P. STEVIE... you are dearly missed... but you will never be forgotten my bro! We love you Stevie!
Just when you don't think it can't get any better it does. I like to watch people react to SRV for the first time. It's pretty much the same reaction EVERY time. It never takes long to realize you are witnessing greatness.
He died 20 miles from where I lived, and I cried like a damn baby. And to think he couldn't even read music. He tried to learn, but quit and just simply played from his heart and soul. RIP Stevie.
New subscriber here in the south we call it being taken to church because its truly a religious experience, thank you for such kind words about my hero and the true greatest of all time of guitars SRV. As great as he was ,he was equally as great as a man . ✌
You know it’s good if you are totally vibing to the guitar and the singing jumps in waaaay later....AND YOU DON’T CARE❤️ I love the fact that he totally got clean from drugs and alcohol and was so supportive to people that wanted to get sober. If a fan said they wanted to get sober at one of his concerts, he would personally take them to an AA meeting and stay there with them. I still remember the day he died. 💔 I was lucky enough to have seen him in concert at Austin City Limits (you can find it on YT).
It's a lot of FUN for a guy that listened and followed SRV DECADES ago to watch the reaction of youngsters today.... You look just like we did so very long ago...ENJOY...The GREATEST guitar player we will ever see! Imagine where he'd be today if he wasn't taken at such a young age????
wow is good enough -- if you notice stevie gives the stankie face too while he is playing -- it effects us all that way -- thanks for the reaction smiles and love to you
Love your reactions, considered me subbed. As far as Stevie Ray goes, he was one of the most percussive, powerful and passionate guitarists that God ever put a breath into, taken from us way too soon Rest in Peace Brother Stevie, we miss you!
I seen him 3 times and had tickets to see him on tour they were on that foggy night in August of 1090 when his helicopter flew into a mountain on the way to the hotel from a show it was a massive blow to music
Dont worry about having no words lol...thats the reaction most people have..just when you think youve seen it all he gives even more! There is no one like The Cat in the Hat With a Strat!! Suggest...Tin Pan Alley live with Johnny Copeland or live in Japan or Aint Gon Give up on Love live at the Capitol Theatre!💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
This is a transcendental performance as he takes us along for the ride - fast, slow, powerful, and ultimately audacious. By the way, when I see pop-tarts dancin' and prancin' around the stage, believing they need 'showmanship' to capture their audience's attention, I just think of THIS performance by SRV.
You need to put a copyright fare use memo in your description. Texas Flood. I am so glad you get to hear and see some more greatness of Stevie. He's the G.O.A.T. 👍❤ Tin Pan Alley with Johnny Copeland Montreaux 1985 Stevie was a very humble man. Sweet. Funny. Always gave credit to those before him and ALWAYS gave them the respect that they deserved. He was offended when they put B.B. King as his opener. He just didn't feel that was respectful to B.B. P.S. this is how great he was on drink and coke. He was even better when he got clean from late 86 to 90. R.I.P. Stevie. We will always love you ❤ P.S.S. he was that great because he practiced his ass of and strived to get better. God given talent that he worked at and it shows.
I am So Very Glad, Understatement of Forever! That there are young peeps that get this! And I am blessed to be able to see You react to this, Thank You so much! I am 430 min into your react and I know what's coming, can barely wait to see You get Amazed...
You need to check out the sound check video of SRV, he literally wakes up,gets ready, and shows up on stage for a sound check, and that's all I'm going to tell you.Check it out!!
The Texas flood shown in this vid is the one pouring off of SRV onto his guitar -- he puts so much energy into his playing, he works up a heavy sweat. What a showman!
Happy to see black people enjoying this. They say he's really a black man by soul and heart. To hear him for the first time is shocking then the guitar. He's the ultimate blues man for me. Granted he was influenced and taught by some of the greatest in history, they all respected and saw his talent. His influence came from poverty, experience from the hard dirty south. He may be white but he's connected us all. Some back to our roots . If you're black please listen to some of this ,explore it, it's not for everyone
Thanks for this - it's always a pleasure to see others discover the genius of SRV -- I was late to the game myself! But I never tire of seeing people react to the switch behind the back - myself it was, "WHAAAT" - :)
When he came along the blues was dying and he single handily revived the genre by introducing a younger generation to it. I was so lucky to have seen him TWICE! His older brother Jimmie is also fantastic but his is a more traditional blues. Saw him in concert and met him also!
You should listen to sister Roseanna Thorpe Sister Rosetta Tharpe (March 20, 1915 - October 9, 1973) was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and recording artist. She attained popularity in the 1930s and 1940s with her gospel recordings, characterized by a unique mixture of spiritual lyrics and rhythmic accompaniment that was a precursor of rock and roll. She was the first great recording star of gospel music and among the first gospel musicians to appeal to rhythm-and-blues and rock-and-roll audiences, later being referred to as "the original soul sister" and "the Godmother of rock and roll".[1][2][3][4] She influenced early rock-and-roll musicians, including Little Richard, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis.[5][6][7] Tharpe was a pioneer in her guitar technique; she was among the first popular recording artists to use heavy distortion on her electric guitar, presaging the rise of electric blues. Her guitar playing technique had a profound influence on the development of British blues in the 1960s; in particular a European tour with Muddy Waters in 1964 with a stop in Manchester on 7 May is cited by prominent British guitarists such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Keith Richards.[8] Willing to cross the line between sacred and secular by performing her music of "light" in the "darkness" of nightclubs and concert halls with big bands behind her, Tharpe pushed spiritual music into the mainstream and helped pioneer the rise of pop-gospel, beginning in 1938 with the recording "Rock Me" and with her 1939 hit "This Train".[1][5] Her unique music left a lasting mark on more conventional gospel artists such as Ira Tucker, Sr., of the Dixie Hummingbirds. While she offended some conservative churchgoers with her forays into the pop world, she never left gospel music. Tharpe's 1944 release "Down by the Riverside" was selected for the National Recording Registry of the U.S. Library of Congress in 2004, which noted that it "captures her spirited guitar playing and unique vocal style, demonstrating clearly her influence on early rhythm-and-blues performers" and cited her influence on "many gospel, jazz, and rock artists".[9] ("Down by the Riverside" was recorded by Tharpe on December 2, 1948, in New York City, and issued as Decca single 48106.[10]) Her 1945 hit "Strange Things Happening Every Day", recorded in late 1944, featured Tharpe's vocals and electric guitar, with Sammy Price (piano), bass and drums. It was the first gospel record to cross over, hitting no. 2 on the Billboard "race records" chart, the term then used for what later became the R&B chart, in April 1945.[1][11] The recording has been cited as a precursor of rock and roll.[6] On December 13, 2017, Tharpe was chosen for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as an Early Influence.
SRV was a magician with that guitar, some say he was from another planet. Bottom line is that he did things that were impossible for the average guitarist to try... hell he plays better behind his back than 90% of the rest of us playing normally.

If you want to see two of the greatest Texas Blues guitarists from two separate generations on one stage, watch Stevie Ray Vaughan and Johnny Copeland do Tin Pan Alley!
Thank You, JT! Stevie was killed in a helicopter crash in I think 1990- 91? He had a few years earlier stopped drugging and drinking, which made him so much better... RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan!
Greatest blues guitar performance ever recorded - and thank God it was.
This band is so tight. Mutual love and respect. They got each other.......
SRV + Double Trouble = 1 of the "Top 5" 3-man combos in blues/rock'n'roll history.
True musical genius. RIP
SRV...still blowing minds thirty years after he was taken from us.

SRV played better behind his back than most players could play in front. simply amazing artist!! great job keep up the good work.
It makes me so excited to see people discover SRV.... always brings a smile to my face.
I love watching people react to this song. All over the world it is the same...Jaws open in disbelief.
Awesome talent he was.
Saw him live twice back in the day, never seen anyone play blues with the passion and elaborate detail that SRV did, hes a guitar legend.
This guy still gives me goosebumps when i listen to him. Man he was incredible. Miss ya SRV

Stevie Ray Vaughan evokes two feelings in me a serious hatred of all Aviation and a taste for Famous Dave's barbecue. Incredible guitar player.
You have just seen a bonafide legend - I saw him live twice back in the day and ill never forget it his talent and passion just blows your mind. RIP SRV.

Gary Moore was better. SRV is overrated.
Thebo Montellano nah Gary is a different musician. You just like him better.
I love Hendrix better

SRV could've made a song where he sings the phone book and I would've been like "You tell 'em Stevie!"
I seen him 3 times and had tickets to see him on tour they were on that foggy night in August of 1090 when his helicopter flew into a mountain on the way to the hotel from a show it was a massive blow to music

Every one of his songs is great he is the GOAT, try to play them all
Good reaction
I like your taste in music. SRV ain’t worried bout no copyright, he wants you to listen!!!
That night when he put his guitar behind his back, it wasn't planned. He just did it.

And it's not only playing behind his back... he switches back and forth without missing a single beat. It's incredible.
you did nail it, he hit the holy ghost! that man was in another dimension, great reaction!
True singer. True musicians working live together. Not that crappy nowadays pop music with to meat around the bone.
Greatest guitar performance ever recorded
GOAT..SRV
final word..goat
Pulls out ear bud to see better, Love me some Stevie Ray! Thank you great reaction!
Stevie Ray Vaughn is still the greatest ever was and alway's will be. There is no one greater.
