Stevie was definitely a one-of-a-kind. Without a doubt, he was "touched" by something otherworldly at a young age. He was a conduit of music straight from God to our ears. This concert was recorded in late July, which accounts for some of the sweat pouring off of him. Stevie also put every bit of himself into every performance. And there is a high possibility that he was "sky high" at the time. His catalog is deep and wide. I recommend his cover of "Voodoo Chil' " and for a totally different perspective on just how deep his chops ran, "Riviera Paradise."
He doesn't unplug, or the sound would stop.....He removes the strap - swings it behind him - reattaches the strap - and continues to prove why he is GOAT - all in the middle of a riff, without loosing a beat, AND without muffling the sound.
Watch him play...life without you.....he has to change guitar cause the string breaks, he drops his pick, he has to adjust the sound and he losses a tooth, but through it all he never stkps playing, a true pro. And he stops to give a beautiful message to everyone, he was an amazing performer and a good person. Every performance is special and he gives it his all, every time
I'm a guitar & piano teacher, and the best part of my job is watching someone your age hear something you've never heard before. I can just sit back and watch the faces of my students just light up and all sorts of emotions go across their faces. That's what I just watched on your face. Explore more genres of music, watch live performances. You will find so much that will stick with you that you will love. There is so much music out there. It was fun watching you watch this.
We lost him too soon. He's a legend and beloved as a human being. He and that guitar were one. ❤ Great and highly appropriate reaction. Check out his performance of Hendrix's Voo doo Child. The black out fit.
Okay, Austin, Texas, 1981. 6th Street live music scene. Steamboat Willie's Stevie Ray played it seemed like weekly. Less than $5 cover and cheap beers. And Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, before Reece arrived with the keyboards. A small dance floor in front of the stage, tables, and the rap-around balcony tables surveying the whole scene. Bar at the back. It was still socially okay to dance alone. And I did. I danced to SRV so much it feels like home. He worked the feedback with the big old speakers and we cheered and danced on. Pure connection.
It's blues, straight up. He is arguably the greatest guitar player of all time or at least in the top 3 depending on who you talk to. I appreciate you delving into other genres, it's wise to expand your mind. That said, there is 100 years of great music, pre-2000 that your generation needs to check out and embrace.
He really played like that. I saw it. I’ve never seen anything else like it. He grew up in Oak Cliff, just outside of Dallas. He played guitar all day every day, took it to school with him, … He was just starting to get famous when he was killed in a helicopter crash age 35. That was a terrible day I’ll never forget. He never played a song exactly the same way twice. It came straight out of his head and through his fingers, not memorized. Check out, also from the same El Mocambo show, his cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing”. At the end he adjusts all his amps and gets a sound out of his guitar that sounds like dinosaurs roaring. Unbelievable
a true guitar god and legend in his own time, and a super nice guy, just incredible...his brother jams heavy as well...check out Stevie Ray doin Hendrix covers...RIP
I love your reaction! I saw him back in the 80’s. I had never heard of him but that man made my jaw drop in astonishment and I’m still trying to pick it back up. I’ve loved him ever since.
I had the pleasure of seeing him live twelve times including his second to last show at alpine valley. Eric clapton was on stage playing with him. Eric stopped playing his guitar and just stood there and watched. SRV play. Back then we used to go to buddy guys. Legends and I had the pleasure of talking to Buddy guy one night. Buddy Guy called SRV the greatest Guitar player he had ever seen. SRV is #1 in my opinion.
@@JonahReactions yeah bro, half the joy of Stevie's music is watching him play it. ...btw, Stevie was on fire that night at the El Mocambo so any track from that show would be worth reacting to and 'Lenny' in particular because it shows what a true artist he was.
I just subbed for more SRV. I agree with suggestions of checking out Life Without You live from The Capitol Theater. In addition to everything that has been said that happens, he takes time in his solo to speak on loving everyone as ourselves. The speech also refers to the Apartheid that was going on in Africa in those days. He truly believed everyone should be treated with love and respect. Then watch when he turns to grin at his crew off stage and mouths Lost my tooth!!! Grins again and mouths It’s gone !!! But then finishes the song in true Stevie Ray style of perfection. It’s just amazing!!!!!
You just experienced one the BEST guitarist to ever live!!!! Watch any of his song videos, because everything he plays is amazing. Just make sure to watch his live videos.
A legend. Rest in peace. He played with some of the biggest strings avaiable You should check out when he played a doubleneclk with his brother. You also dont want to miss when he breaks a string during a song and his tech helps sort him out
Stevie Ray Vaughan!!!!!!! The only guitarist ever! To do the impossible on that guitar. Saw him twice live! Couldn’t believe what I witnessed the first time I went to see his live performance
What an amazing first reaction. Definitely keep checking more SRV. He's on of my favorites and such an awesome musician. His live shows are unmatched when it comes to musical talent. You should check out "Mary had a little lamb" by SRV live at Austin in 1989. Also, for a different blues/rock flavor, you should react to the band Free. Check out their live performance of "Alright Now" at Granada in 1970. Free's lead singer Paul Rodgers is arguably one of the best blues/rock singers of all time. He later was in another band called Bad Company which is also an amazing listen!
Stevie ray is the goat on guitar..... He does the cover of Jimmie Hendricks ....voodoo child..Jimmie played it great, but Stevie perfected it...check it out
The guitar mans guitar man. I challenge you to find a single missed note on any of his live performances. I'll wait. The epitome of mind, body and soul one with his instrument, speaking to the world like no other.
Vocals in "Ain't Gone 'n' Give Up On Love" (Capitol Theater) and "Leave My Girl Alone" (Austin 1989), "Pride And Joy" (Montreux 1983). His live performances are next level, but you and the viewers will love the official music videos, too, that Stevie and the members of his band Double Trouble did. For example, "Couldn't Stand The Weather" (drenched!), "Superstition" (clever), the hilarious "Cold Shot," and "If The House Is Rockin'" (where everyone parties down). Also check out his Sound Check where someone captured footage of SRV after he just woke up, and he rockets into a mini concert at jet-fueled speed! He's a GOAT, especially of the blues, but did rock, blues-rock, even jazz. Aggressive style. Never learned to read music. Amazing guitar skills, a great voice, and a soul connected to another world. So into both the music and the moment, with a heart so revealing in everything he expressed. But you couldn't find someone more humble. Stevie Ray Vaughan was fire in so many ways. He was a funny, kind, and loving human being. Massive respect! 🎸♥️🎶🙏🥰🌟🌹

Since you said that you are into all genres of music, I have a suggestion that you must watch. It is the GOAT of rock drummers, Neil Peart, from the band RUSH. The video of his drum solo from the RUSH concert in Frankfurt, Germany will absolutely blow your mind. I promise you that you will not be disappointed, and I can't wait to see your reaction. It is EPIC and will make you thankful more than you can imagine. I implore you to take the time as you will be stunned!
you started with a good one-considered by some to be the greatest guitar performance ever. last name pronounced "vawn" like lawn-one syllable. think vince vaughn etc.
Definitely react to Dire Straits- "Sultans Of Swing" (Alchemy Live). It is a performance not to be missed! 🎉Mark Knopfler is another GOAT of the guitar, and the organic energy and feeling captured in that song on the Alchemy Live tour are off the charts! You'll soon discover that Mark is an incredible, INCREDIBLE songwriter, storyteller, and musician, with a style that is astonishing. And so chill, with both his playing and his vocal delivery.
This is the Blues! Led Zepellin has a lot of blues influence. Joe Bonamassa is a prodigy of the great masters. Beth and Joe's live collaberations are Masterclass worthy.
I think SRV was the musical love child of Buddy Guy, BB King and Jimmy Hendrix. tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in 1990… Eric Clapton was supposed to be in his place🎸🎸🎸
Try the band Chicago playing "25 or 6 to 4" live at Tanglewood. It's another epic guitar solo in a unique band with a brass section. It's about writing a song at 25 or 26 minutes to 4am, and trying to stay awake.
IMO the best ever. Played Texas blues and covered Jimi Hendrix better than Jimi could cover Jimi Henrix. Could not read music. Started playing when he was 7 or 8. Got mad respect from all the greats. John Lee Hooker, BB King, Albert King, all of the old blues greats. He was killed in a helicopter crash in 1990 shortly before his 35th birthday. There will never be another SRV

I can listen to Buddy Guy , John lee Hooker,B.B King, Megadeath, Pantera,Cannibal Corpse or Jimi Hendrix all day and the devil went down to Georgia by CDB is an amazing song but SRV is unarguably the best blues guitar player ever. You don't have to believe me. Ask BB King .
It's hard to believe that you are quiet during Stevie Ray Vaughan singing but while one of the best guitarists on the planet is playing his wicked solos you talk all the way through that...less talk more rock man 😮
Vaughan like lawn, pawn, dawn, - the gh are silent. He unfastened his guitar strap. He didn't unplug the cord. You did good considering that you listen mostly to Rap and not music.
