I am impressed how they can actually make BOTH versions run like rarely below 30 fps. It just shows how they're not being lazy, porting and recycling engines like activision does with call of duty, but instead, doing your best to make both version enjoyable.
bad company 2 on ps3 was the funnest ive ever had with the game because it was social, could sit around with mates smoking cones and doing rails drinking beer and throw the controller round
Running 100 cars down a 2 lane sand drive way and then a 4 lane asphalt driveway 100meters apart all diverging at some point to meet at a certain point results in less cars reaching the destination as opposed to running 100 cars down a 10 lane driveway going straight to a point.
@core6198 but don't forget that the developers don't make the games for a specific pc configuration, so they will always develop their games according to the top hardware specifications for the pc. And the consoles are made only for gaming so the games will run more or less well. In a very short period of time, a pc can get old.
@core6198 yeah i know what you mean,but for example, to run bad company 2 on pc,you dont really need a 2000 bucks computer,any decnt gaming pc could run it on max settings with no problem, except that a better pc could run it with more fps.but even if you had 2 gtx 560 cards(one of the most powerful cards right now)the graphics would of still look the same than a single card cause every game had its top limit and like i said, this game doesnt require that much.
İ've played BC2 and BF 3 in 2023. İ can say, if frame rate is important for you, you need to play BC2. İt has perfect frame rate. On the other hand, BF 3 has optimized but low fps. But still has realistic game mechanics and graphics. Both of them enjoyable and my favorite BF games for PS3

The PS3 does a terrible job with anti-aliasing making textures look less smooth as a result of slightly jagged edges Questions?

@wwfww when the consoles where released 6 years ago you could buy a 8800gt which had twice the gpu power of a ps3/xbox360. Today in 2011 that graphics cards is still twice as powerful and still performs twice as well.(you can buy one for about £60 btw) People only upgrade them every once in a while because they want to lol

Microsoft designed the processor with gaming in mind and built it with ATI from the ground up, Sony admitted the GPU is crappier than the Xbox's GPU
Will Zhang Yet developers learnt and optimized their games to run on that inferior GPU and actually look better than any game x360 had. Uncharted 3, GoW, TLoU etc..

Most games are developed for the Xbox 360 then ported to the PS3 as the Xbox utilizes a very similar processor architecture to the PC. In porting down, the PS3 would only use about 4 of the available SPEs restricting the ability to run at full power. PS3 will beat the Xbox in Exclusives only

Bad company 2 seems to run a lot smoother than BF3. Movement in BF3 just feels like everything is laggy and choppy. I thought it might be the frame rate but they seem to both be 30 fps. Maybe its just the design, ot increased server lag. BC2 is a better game as well, they ruined bf3 hardcore by putting in a minimap amongst many other things.
@wwfww 2000 bucks to run the game properly? no way dude, with a pc like that you would be able to run future games with no problem. is more of a 500-800 bucks to run today games on good and average fps. which is around 40 to 50 fps and sometimes a lil higher with the settings on high and vsync and AA off. so why 2000 bucks???

PS3 uses OpenGL while Xbox uses direct x 8 or the crappiest version of dx 9 (which was made in 2002)
