I love that you talk about the suggested needle sizes, yarn and used techiques. I saw a lot of videos, where they only showed a picture of the pattern for a couple of seconds and only talked about sizing. There I had to look up the pattern and look for the needle sizes and techniques. Yours is all in one with all the information I need. Thank you for this ❤

I knit the Chrysler Top by Knitting for Olive. I used a discontinued Berrocco silk yarn I bought at my LYS. Next, I plan on knitting Dropps River Trails Top with Holst Garn Tides.

that cool cropped top from lovecrafts has been in my library of saved patterns for ages, and your video just reminded me 😅 maybe i'll knit that this summer! i'm currently crocheting the camaro crop top from toni lipsey/tl yarn crafts. i've never crocheted any wearables! i'm using 100% pima cotton and am imagining it to be perfect to throw over a swimsuit when going to the beach or something light to bring to the movies. ❤ love your content!

i think wearing merino in the summer is all about the climate. I live in Turkey and merino in the summer is just out of the question 😄

I started the cool cropped top and i found the patten pretty difficult to understand after i reached the half way point - the front was super easy but the back was definitely a challenge. You bad to put a lot of stitches on hold and the reasoning why was unclear until you had finished knitting that section. The pattern would benefit from some diagrams, i had to continually look up the picture of the back of the shirt to try and understand what i was doing. Cool pattern, but i would not consider it a good beginner pattern.
I didn’t finish it after doing the front and back because i didn’t like the yarn i was using for it anymore.

I agree with you about not using pure merino yarns for summer tops. The summers here are very hot, so I try to find cotton or bamboo blends. Pure cotton and bamboo are super hard to work with, but blended with merino or elastic, they are not too bad. I'm currently knitting the Pineapple Top by Yeon Hwa Lee and then most likely I will knit Thea Tank by Tamera L.

Don’t be scared of wool for summer tops! I’m in Southern California where we are very hot all summer and my favorite knitted tanks are all wool. Give it a try and you might be surprised at how well it does in the heat.

Oof, I knew MFTK was not size inclusive, but max 114 cm on the first, max 116 on the next, that's ... oof. Not even an XL, so not even all standard sizes 😱ETA just to be sure, this is definitely about the designers, not about you. I just never bothered to look at her patterns as a definitely plus sized person, and I was surprised because I don't expect to fit every pattern, but I didn't expect a big designer to not even cover those sizes 😅

I totally get what you’re saying… what I don’t understand when it comes to bigger designers such as PetiteKnit, MFTK… they have so many resources or even a bigger team behind them and they don’t take the time to expand their size ranges but instead publish a new pattern every couple weeks 🫣

This summer, I would love to make the Monoi top by Marzena Kołaczek! I'm just trying to find the perfect yarn for it still.

Hi! What's the name of the yarn shop in Nuremberg, please? I will probably visit Nuremberg next month to see a friend, and always enjoy making a bee line for a nice yarn shop :D
I have to say I struggle with summer knits, I have probably about 10 summer knit WIPs that just languish in their boxes and bags, because I lose patience when they seem to progress sooo slowly. Funnily enough I have no issues knitting a sweater on 3mm needles, as long as it's not pure stockinette.
My other issue is that a lot of the current patterns have high necklines, and I prefer deep necklines (being a medium chunky sort of body type and using cleveage to draw attention away from other areas I like less). But I have lots of lovely summer yarns and want to make a good use of them :)

@@catblues8645 it’s called „Tolle Wolle“. You’re gonna love it! 🌟I feel the same about knitting sweaters on tiny needles compared to summer tops haha
