New to your channel from a search for summer knitting and found this topic particularly helpful. I’m contemplating knitting my first summer tee. It’s especially valuable to see the knitted items “in action” on the knitter and how they have worked out in the wardrobe. I also have also seen included on other videos a frank discussion of materials costs which I think is a very important factor for most makers. So yes, I would love to see more of this type in a series, and yes to baby knits too:)

The seam along the side of the Soho Top, and that amazing curved hem on the Miles Tee are two things just looking at photos I wouldn't have noticed, but entice me to buy the patterns now. Super great podcast with super cute knits. I love how your mom sends you picture of her wearing your knits. So adorable... I'd never really knit summer knits for myself before this year. I had been looking for a cotton-ish simple white cardigan for years to replace one that is nearing the end of its cottony life. And nothing... So, the heck with it, "I'm going to make it myself" she said... So I'm knitting a modified same same cardigan by Ankestrick (no pleats) in Sandnes Garn Line. I'm gently approaching the separation for sleeves... almost there... but 3.5 mm needles are a small gauge to be knitting a cardigan I think. I'm an elementary school teacher, so my time and energy are usually absorbed by "adorable" 4th and 5th graders (I usually feel like a toothpaste tube that is being pressed empty...). Here's hoping I will be wearing this cardi before Summer 2025!!

@Therapy By Craft yes! The fingering weight one-it's so cozy. I've also made them and taken some of the stitches out of the circumference and it still works well-just makes less of a drop shoulder.

Thanks Eunice for the tried and true recommendations! Yes, I’ve knitted the Coloring Book Raglan by Aimee Sher in a solid color! I knitted it in Queensland Merino yak, posing yarn chicken because it was a discontinued wool. I was able to scoured and locate one online! It stretched a bit, unfortunately. I’m planning to make another with the color stripes as well as the tee at some point. Thanks for sharing and the knitting company! ❤❤

Great video idea! I would be interested in it being a series. My favorite summer tee would be the Mangrove Tee. I will make that again. First time around I made it too cropped. Also, made the anker summer tee in a linen which needs a few more wears until I add that to a make again list. I have the cumulus tee and ranunculus in my queue. I’ve made the cumulus blouse and wear that a ton.
Ooohh I love all of those!! I've never made the Mangrove Tee but I have been eying it since last year. Thank you for bringing my attention back to it! I've also made the Anker tee, but I'm curious - how did you find the fit? Since there was no short-row shaping, I found it to be a bit uncomfortable around the collar. Do you find it to be okay? And that's good to know about the cumulus blouse! maybe I'll make one of those later this year as a Fall transitional garment. :) Thanks for all your feedback!
@@therapybycraft mangrove tee fits really well. Just be careful on length. I made the long version and it was still too cropped. Difficult to realize as it is bottom up. Anker tee made with Sandnes Garn line is really good bc that linen drapes super good. My anker sweater made with Sunday is another story. Can’t stand the lack of short rows!! Is there anyway to add them after the ribbed neckline? It’s so unfortunate.

I also am a big fan of Aimee Sher and have knit the Coloring Book Raglan (worsted weight but I've done it in DK too) in three different ways and am on my third version of the Coloring Book Tee (fingering weight) - so many ways to mix and match the views and really personalize the fit and look. I've knit the Ranunculus multiple times as well - I think I'm on my third...? I also find the yoke to be very engaging and the overall project being at a looser gauge that can be easily adapted makes it versatile for so many yarn weights! Welcome welcome! I'm so glad you're here. :) Oooh that's a great question! I'd love to see a striped version of it. If you do try it out, there's a couple of things I'd probably keep in mind. 1. You will probably want to change colors on a row where you knit (instead of a purl row) to keep the color change clean. 2. the side seam may not completely "match" the striping because slip stitches are involved. If you're cool with attempting it and making a striped version, I say go for it! Sabina (of Caidree, the designer) is also really great, so I wonder if she'd have suggestions if you plan to make a striped one. :)
Ive recently made the soho top and the pattern was great to follow for a beginner. Problem though it doesnt explain what to do with the provisional cast on or how to join the shoulders before doing the i cord. So its sat in the draw until i figure it out.
Ooohh good point. I totally forgot about that! I think I did the straps without doing the provisional cast on, so I avoided that problem. But you're right - there is a bit of kitchenering that I totally forgot about!
I'll be honest. I've only made two garments for myself (one was a cover-up I don't like the yarn, and it looks awful on me) and the other one is a tank-top that the straps were too long and the body is too tight and it just never fit right. I've been thinking about ordering yarn to make myself a tee, but I can't really imagine anything being flattering on my particular body type. And I don't want to invest that amount of time and money on something I won't wear.
I definitely hear that. I took me a long time to muster up the energy to tackle a garment for myself. I hope you are able to find something that works for you and what brings you joy - garments or otherwise! Thanks for tuning in again and taking the time to comment, Lyn. :)

You will probably want to change colors on a row where you knit (instead of a purl row) to keep the color change clean. 2. the side seam may not completely "match" the striping because slip stitches are involved.
If you're cool with attempting it and making a striped version, I say go for it! Sabina (of Caidree, the designer) is also really great, so I wonder if she'd have suggestions if you plan to make a striped one. :)
Ive recently made the soho top and the pattern was great to follow for a beginner. Problem though it doesnt explain what to do with the provisional cast on or how to join the shoulders before doing the i cord. So its sat in the draw until i figure it out.
Ooohh good point. I totally forgot about that! I think I did the straps without doing the provisional cast on, so I avoided that problem. But you're right - there is a bit of kitchenering that I totally forgot about!
I'll be honest. I've only made two garments for myself (one was a cover-up I don't like the yarn, and it looks awful on me) and the other one is a tank-top that the straps were too long and the body is too tight and it just never fit right.
I've been thinking about ordering yarn to make myself a tee, but I can't really imagine anything being flattering on my particular body type. And I don't want to invest that amount of time and money on something I won't wear.
