You're correct, at first the doctor thought his death was from an overdose of pain killers because he had some in his blood, but he was prescribed those for how much pain his heart caused him.
Same with me this and Fiction still tear my heart apart, but even though it's hard to listen to it's still in my Top 5 favorite Avenged Sevenfold songs
Since he was a child he had an enlarged heart, the doctor said that he won't able to live until 30 and he died at 28, he always enduring the pain until finally a few days after Matt Shadow's wedding he took pain killers but themedicine reacted with the alcohol he had previously drunk, causing a reaction in his body and unexpected death, the doctor thought that he died because of drugs and alcohol but it turn out to be his enlared heart causing his death. Before he died he wrote a song called Fiction you can check on it, And there's a song called brompton cocktail that talks about the pain he's been through.
This was one of the last songs that my mom heard before she passed of cancer a month ago. Even though I have that memory connected to this song, I still love it. R.I.P. Mom and the Rev.
This song is one of the most powerful of the generation. Many years later, and this video still makes me emotional. The REV was truly a class of his own, and along with many other artists that left us too soon, music as a whole would be in a much different place if he were still with us. Before his death, many of the most iconic riffs came from this man. In fact, Synyster Gates once claimed Jimmy to be the best guitar player in the band. I encourage you to dive into their older stuff, and watch how they grew until Nightmare. They were alive, and they were insanely different. Their orchestration was intricate, tasteful, and deeply thought out. Jimmy was the one responsible for that. With his natural feel for flowing beats, and Synyster's knowledge of musical theory; the only trajectory was upwards for them. Since then, Synyster has grown to great heights as a guitar player. If Jimmy were still with him and growing along with him; the output would be subtle and complex; and truly an impactful experience. Somewhere in a perfect world, they can hear what this sounds like. I envy that possibility every day
RIP REV!!!🙏🙏🙏 Definitely one of my all time favorite songs!!!👏👏👏 I absolutely love the guitar solo!!!👍👍👍 And the drums are solid!!!❤️❤️❤️ Love the reaction!!!😍😍😍
The thing about this song is you feel the pain in M. Shadows' voice But you can also feel it in Synister Gates' guitar playing. As I believe Gates and the Rev were closer to being best friends than the rest but I could be wrong. Still 😔
Loved the analysis from you all. I spent all my allowance to get Nightmare with the music videos on iTunes when it came out and I was so hurt when I learned Jimmy had passed. A7X has continued to represent his legacy proudly since Nightmare and this reaction was fantastic too.
I've been a fan of a7x since 2012 and one thing I have to say, listening to A7X brings back good memories! Thank you Avenged Sevenfold, and forever miss the greatest drummer of all time, Big REV! "It Wasn't Just a Fiction"
Watching you console your wife. Was awesome. Too many marriages don't have that anymore. That was really cool. Jimmy also had a heart condition if I'm not mistaken
Yeah and the leading theory about his death is even sadder. He had a terminal illness…an enlarged heart. Doctors told him he won’t live much passed 30 yrs old. Well, in his 28th year the “end” approaching become evident and obvious to him. He was always in pain so the leading idea is that he more or less committed suicide by that specific combination of meds/alcohol. There are a couple songs by teem that kind of enforce this idea.
@@petalsofdesireTrue, even if he said when he was young that he would become a rock star and not live past 30, I have never found anything mentioning medical reasons, until after death when they could not state cause of death because his enlarged heart. Feels like people mixing up things.
I still think you guys woolf love Nemophila. They are an all-female Japanese metal band. They will blow your minds lol. Check out either "Dissension" (the original non-USA version" or "Rise." Or you can even check out their live video for "Oiran" they put out a little over a month ago.

I dont think this is true. Don’t believe anyone knew he had an enlarged heart. Believe it was discovered during autopsy.
Yeah, this wasn't discovered until the autopsy. Brian mentioned that Jimmy probably hadn't gone to the doctor in years.
