    Hi Tony. The paint looks great 👍. You're aware I'm sure that you're picking up an average of 8,000 subs a week! Outstanding! Congratulations! I'm very happy to see how successful your channel is becoming. As I said in a past comment, I'm looking forward to seeing the body on. I'm enjoying this build very much. Have a great weekend! Cheers!

      Hi Michael and thank you. Really happy with the finish I am getting on these parts, but it is very much down to the base prep as I am sure you know. My subs, continue to blow my mind and I am still pinching myself over it. The 'Play button award" is now official and just waiting to see it arrive from the states...I still can not believe this has happened to my humble channel, but it down to guys like you who support what I am trying to do, so thank you also for your amazing support. Body starts going on next week...Have a great weekend yourself, and hope the sun makes an appearance somewhere.

    Great film again Tony. The returns which you have added to your arches look just right. Images I have of the real thing look just like that and your headlights will look far better now you've painted them chrome. Keep up the good work.

    Tony - you’ve destroyed my weekend viewing! I so look forward to Saturday mornings; breakfast and a great video, but it’s now twice that my space time continuum has been wobbled😂 Is today Saturday and I’ve lost a day or is something more insidious creeping into to your carefully woven plan? Whatever the cause though I’ve really been enthralled by this video and your continuing demonstration of your skills and enthusiasm. RAF blue was indeed a sound way to go and the extra attention to the rolled inner wings really is going to pay off! Of course, there is the possibility that they’ll be two videos this weekend, so that my breakfast tomorrow won’t be ruined, but surely you can’t be that determined? 🤔 Keep up the great work while I try to work out what day of the week it is 👍🏼👍🏼

    Hi Tony, I wonder if a coat or two of either Matt or gloss varnish would protect your paint finish!
    Loving the progress, and the mods have just added to the project. Looking forward already to the next episode.
    Just a suggestion for episode production, perhaps invest in a monitor and set it up camera front, it will greatly assist you in framing your shots.

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  2 месяца назад +1

      Thank you. I am using car body paint, so it should be fairly robust. I think the chassis having undergone a lot of work and with lots of sharp edges will be prone to damage, but the main body panels should hold up, but time will tell. I may well still opt to do that.
      Love the suggestion of a monitor front facing....I will ask Ben what he thinks, but do you have a monitor which you would recommend...I guess it doesn't need to be a large size? I use the DJI Pocket 2 camera. Thank you for your continued support and helpful ideas, they are always welcomed.

      @@tonys_workshop you wouldn’t need anything elaborate, something like a Portkeys PT5 II Camera Monitor 5 Inch would be more than sufficient. It’s big enough for you to frame your shots, has more than enough functions for production needs and at £125 reasonable price. Personally we use Atomos and small HD but the portkey monitor has rave reviews and at a significant fraction of the cost.

      I use the Viltrox DC-550 Field Monitor for video production on my Nikon Z9 and at around £150, with a 5.5” screen and 1200 nits of brightness, it should be perfect for use either on camera or for you to use as a large monitor 👍🏼

    I think that when you are installing things like hinges, I would install them but not locktite until both sides of the hinge is attached. Then, after any adjustments are made if needed, then remove screws one at a time and locktite them.

I always try and think ahead so I have everything ready. Hope you do manage to track some down as it is brilliant stuff. Have a great weekend mate.

    Hi Tony, this chrome paint isn't that expensive when you consider how little you need. I have this paint myself. You wouldn't believe how many things you can think of that you can paint with it. Be it buttons on a uniform, small switches... Oh, I can think of a thousand things.😀

    • @tonys_workshop

      Hi Jan, I love this paint and as you say, you really don't need a lot. I purchased this to do the mirrors(when I get to that stage) but already found a good use for it. I will also re-visit the steering wheel spokes with this paint. Thank you for watching and commenting, very much appreciated.

    Cracking idea with the arches👍 Those sausage fingers are working well🤣 do you lacquer the body parts to give extra protection and give a gloss or satin finish? If I remember correctly the RAF station landys were a shiny finish. Ours were in camo IR paint as we used them in the field. 👏👏👏

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks Aus. Yes, I was not happy with just the skin and using this method does add to the realism of it I think... The paint I am using is a car body satin finish, so hoping it is durable. I went for the satin finish, as I think this provides that 'exposed to the sun' look...(I hope) I was tempted with a camo scheme, but really happy with this RAF choice...I have been hunting for some really cool 1/6 accessories to add to this and have found some amazing things...really looking forward to getting to that stage and sharing my ideas on that as well. Thank you for your continued amazing support mate, it is very much appreciated.
