    Tony the Panel-Beater! A nice session there with the old persuading device & the extra bit of trim on the number plate is a nice touch 👍

      Thanks Martin. I enjoyed that part of the build as it is quite rewarding when it turns out so well.

    Interesting to see how you’re making the kit parts transform into something more detailed through the addition of relatively small and simple additions. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us.

    Great film Tony - it is the small details which make a model stand out - and which will make your Landie different to any other.

    Next when bending brass strips . Cold chisel with end trimmed flat makes it easier when hitting with hammer.

    Steady away as ever Tony,you have the patience of a saint....Bit surprised your not putting a period RAF reg on the model, might be worth considering.👌

      Thanks Alan. The plate which comes with the kit is for a standard green Series 1. I agree and may still look at doing that. My first thoughts were to get the plates looking more accurate to what would have been on these. I will do some research and before the kit is complete may still go on to try and develop that idea. Thanks for watching and your continued support. Have a great weekend.

    The detailing will transform the kit wonderfully. Agreed the number plate registration not accurate but not that it matters much still looks fabulous. These are parts of the build often left out, so awesome you are showing how you’ve achieved the end product. Looking forward to the next upload, it’s really taking shape and looking the part.

      Thank you. I do worry some times, that perhaps I show too much, but then I think it's important to show how these stages are achieved...well, how I achieve them at least and hope that I help others who may want to build one of these. Thanks for your continued support and have a great weekend.

    Attention is in the detail 👍keep up the good work. My kit arrived yesterday, already sorted out a tow hitch for it. Also been working on some 1/6 flimsy cans for petrol & water. More detail is good 🤣

      Hi Tim and thank you. Hope my build videos are of some help when you get started. Tow hitch..good idea...I managed to get some 3d printed flimsy cans, which I need to paint up and also some 1/6 scale crates, boxes and other various bits for adding detail. I love how this kit in particular provides plenty of possible variants on finishing and detailing. Have a great weekend and enjoy your build.

    Hey Tony, really good "jig" for bending the cappings, if there are any tiny hammer marks after painting it'll be a great little detail as they get battered when stuff is chucked in the back or people hop over the sides, the edging on the numberplate is a nice touch, really finishes it off.

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks Russ. That is exactly what I thought and actually, now they are painted, you dont really see the hammer marks. I felt I had to do something on the number plate and although not accurate, like you I feel that it finishes it off.
      Thanks for your continued support Russ and hope you have a great weekend.

    hi tony, all is looking great. i find painting the most difficult part of modelling, i am rarely happy with the final result, particularly on large body parts. practice, practice,practice i suppose. cheers

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  2 месяца назад

      Thanks Trevor. It is just practice. Like you I was always unhappy with results, but now built a technique that works for me. I like using the spray cans, but they must be shaken for at least 2 mins, then I use a piece of kitchen roll to continuously wipe the nozzle to prevent build up and spotting and then just nice, slow build up of paint layers. I now get great results.

    Morning Tony, excellent video ,can still hear the tapping 😂😂 if your doing a RAF land-rover, I believe the reg you have is wrong.in the army we had 2 numbers followed by 2 letters followed by 2 numbers ie, 34kd65 and I think the RAF was the same .and the tyre pressure was always stencilled on each wheel arch .

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  2 месяца назад +1

      Morning Steve...yeh...sorry about that.😬 hope you had the volume turned down😀 You are of course correct on the number plate, but I decided to keep what was supplied and just try and enhance it, hoping nobody would notice😬😂. I have a stencil which I purchased for that reason. I'm going for TP25 over each wheel arch...that would be correct wouldn't it? Have a great weekend mate.

    When you first showed the number plate my brain told me it was the wrong way round, i.e. landscape and should be portrait. But after a quick google it seems my brain is wrong. Maybe it's another of these "Mandela Effects"? Or does anyone else recall Landie plates being portrait?

    • @tonys_workshop
      @tonys_workshop  2 месяца назад

      Hi Thomas, I have just Googled that myself and can only find landscape. Maybe on some variants of this perhaps? Thank you for watching and commenting.
