That livery is so much nicer than the purple. It's not often you see a Bulleid Pacific in Southern Railway colours these days, although I'm pretty sure they weren't rebuilt until the BR era.
She looks really impressive. Now all thats needed is for some Southern railways coaches behind her. Which we don't have (the ones at Bridgenorth are sleepers painted in southern railways green on one side)
The locomotive looks great! However, does your recent overhaul plans apply to Taw Valley, as the plan was already for her to be withdrawn at the end of 2023, and return late 2024 or early 2025 after a fast overhaul? Is this still happening or will she be sidelined for a little while first? Thank you =)
She is planned to be withdrawn at the end of 2023 for maintenance hence why the group have been having a bit of fun with liveries before she goes in for maintenance. Other good news is the railway is getting its two Manor class locomotives back and hopefully Hagley Hall will have its setting fire to the countryside problem solved which will give the railway three large locomotives to manage the bigger passenger trains.
When you painted taw valley back in BR lined green livery with red taw valley nameplates like in the 1980s and 1990s please can taw valley go on permanent static display in the engine house at Highley station
A 'WC' rebuilt by BR after Bulleid's departure, painted in pre-nationalisation colours with Bulleid's wheel notation? I am reminded how daft Flying Scotsman looked in it late BR guise but but in LNER apple green. Obviously the owners can 'tar it all over' (a quote from Dugald Drummond) if they like.
Bulleids should normally be green, malachite or BR. Obviously a ‘bogus’ livery, ‘southern’ on a rebuilt but it looks absolutely stupendous. Brilliant. Well done.
Do not know where my comments have gone, but if you want it was pink in your eyes but i can assure you it was a shade of purple chosen for the queens Jubilee.
Looks awesome, however, the glossed smokebox door looks utterly woeful alongside the matt black smokebox. What a shame the front let’s the engine down!
Almost as ridiculous as the purple livery. Taw Valley was built in 1946 - when the Southern Ralway had barely a year left. Almost everyone who remembers her running saw her in BR livery. If you want people visiting the railway paint it green.
It would be pointless giving it a lovely Lined Green paint job with only months left on it's ticket, so it's been painted black to be a bit different and to also save money. It will be back in green after it's next overhaul
You would think that, being a rather large and long-standing preserved railway with the knowledge that should bring, they would be able to explain the numbering correctly! What did he say, something to the extent of two driving axles etc…what rubbish! 2 as in the unpowered leading axles, 1 unpowered trailing axle and C for the three driving axles. 21C = 4-6-2. Really SVR, must do better! 🤦🏼♂
O V S Bullied would turn in his grave, 34027 “Taw Valley” never ever ran in freight locomotive black livery. It was built in 1946 by the Southern Railway and was painted when new in Bullied Malachite Green livery. In 1957 it was rebuilt by British Railways and was painted in BR passenger locomotive Brunswick Green livery. When British Railways painted their freight locomotives black, they at least lined them out in red and grey at the same time. It’s an insult to paint a passenger locomotive in British Railways freight locomotive plain unlined black paint, or will the Seven Valley Railway be painting all its other steam locomotives black to match? The Seven Valley Railway has an obligation to preserve the history and colour of the locomotives in its care accurately.
It will be once it's had it's next overhaul which is due end of the year I think. No point painting it properly if it's going to be stripped down in less than a year.
@@bobingram6912 Then again, it's nice to see something a bit different, especially when we have 34028, 34046, 34051, 34067, 34070, 34072, 35006, 35018, 35028, and 35029 all in brunswick

Looks great! Really looking forward to seeing her at the Spring Steam Gala!
Good to see it back in a decent steam loco colour which suits it well.

Will look fabulous in steam Great livery
I know the purists don't like it, but I think it looks fantastic.

Paul bowler spoke amazing words and has encouraged me to like trains more
I like it, I always think though a Bulleid Pacific doesn't look quite right without a smokebox numberplate
I’m looking forward to see taw valley once again in disguise
Fantastic achievement.
Hi very good camera work cracking video well done please can you tell me which train is running tomorrow please reply quickly bye for now Philip

Main manifold shut off valve

Looks good but unreal was rebuilt in 1950s so in wartime Black very odd and not prototypical.
Iv just come back from the gala and saw it just with itself no tender her boiler ticket has ran out its sad
This is amazing
Why do I all of a sudden miss the purple livery? It gave it a Hogwarts express/ old gentleman’s pannier level of unique.
