    Thanks for another clear and straight forward video. Do you know if the F4 finder is very different to the F3? My F4 is a little dusty.

      I need to take a look at a F4 finder before telling you for sure. Cheers.

      @@diyextravaganzaHello again, what about if I send you my F4 viewfinder so you can make a video and clean the lens which has a spot from the interior face, where do you live?

    I have saved this in case I will need it. have one issue with my 3: When I open the door to the film department, a little pin should pop out in the upper left corner - then when you close the door it resets the frame counter.
    Mine doesn't come out so it doesn't reset. I have to remember how many shots I have taken.
    Do you know about this problem?

      Hello, honestly I don't. You should ask in the learn camera repair group on Facebook. Someone will know for sure there. Cheers.

    Hello, does anybody know the size of the 4 small screws that secure the top plate to the unit?

      @diyextravaganza  Год назад

      I don't have a finder around so cannot measure, but my bet is either M1.6 or M2. Cheers.

    How would you take out the bumps on the top cover?

    • @diyextravaganza
      @diyextravaganza  Год назад

      I'll take a small piece of hard wood (like a stick) and a small hammer and I'll start hitting from behind. Cheers

    What if the mirror is dusty? Im scared to touch mine :(

    • @diyextravaganza
      @diyextravaganza  Год назад +1

      mirrors are tricky because very delicate. Try blowing, or a very soft microfiber cloth. cheers.

      @@diyextravaganza thanks for the reply. I read somewhere there could be some kind of surface coating applied, I was unsure of ruining it. The layer of grime on it though is making the image in the viewfinder very dull. Even less so than my FM2, which is a much smaller magnification with less light coming through. My F3 is mint condition otherwise, so I'll play it safe and just keep it as is. lol They don't make em like they used to.

    • @diyextravaganza
      @diyextravaganza  Год назад +1

      @@reddevil211287 yeah, the silver or aluminum coatings in mirrors is very delicate. One approach is to wash it with a mix of distillated water and isopropyl alcohol and remove the grit gently with your fingers. Then rince with distillated water. Distillated water is essential so not to leave traces on the surface once it dries. Cheers.
