I tried the liquitex acrylic gouache first and I did not like it. I did some research on gouache and found out why. I then tried the Holbein acrylic gouache. It’s actual gouache but dries permanent. This is the first video of yours I’ve seen and I loved it! Can’t wait to watch more! Your channel is binge worthy!
Thank you so much for watching and the sweet comment, Jill 💕 a lot of people have recommended the Holbein gouache! I’m going to add it to my list for my next haul 😊 Have a beautiful day!
Nice haul. I love those detail brushes and the watercolour pad. I would like to try the acrylic gouache some day. Have fun playing with your new supplies.
Great video thank you. We are on the same page with our supplies. I love the molotow One4All markers. I believe they are re-fillable and they don't seem to pill the paper as much. Can't wait to see all your new products in use. Have a great week.
The Amsterdams are fine! They are kind of the Dutch Liquitex:) They have the Expert Series also that are artist grade heavy body. Thank you for the great haul and best wishes to you and your loved ones😊🍀🌸
Ahhh a Fiona vid! Yay! I visited my first Blicks today (Florida vacay). It was fun, but definitely smaller scale than their online selection. My urge to buy was satiated by treating my daughter to a few things. So hard to resist all the pretties!
Beautiful haul ! NeoColor 2 are my favorites, but also use a lot of the NeoColor 1 In-N-Out mixed media pieces with charcoal and acrylics. I love the texture of them to finish pieces are the just on sketchbook work to scribble and doodle around :) Guess I’m the only one … but I always break my neocolors on purpose with the first use, same as my charcoal pieces. I bought charcoal today but one piece fell on the ground. The story manager wanted to give a new piece, of give the piece for free … but just told her that I break them when I come home :) and still payed for it !
You’re a art store manager’s dream saying you’ll buy it broken 😂 That’s really cool though! I’m still going to use it obviously - like the idea of breaking on purpose to get different marks :) I’m definitely going to try neocolor 2 next time! Thank you so much for watching 💕
Hello Fiona from another Fiona! I am definitely intending on trying out the molotov markers. I hadn't realised they were made in Germany so I will finally get on to getting some. You'd think that living in Germany I might get good deals on them but Germany seems to be very suspicious of sales so I would guarantee you have got them at a far better price than I can ever find here. 😂 I absolutely need a trip to the USA to get some good deals on art materials!
I loved the video! I saw that you used very transparant colors from the Amsterdam acrylics range (you can see that in the little square on the front of the tube). It would stay more dense with water if you used colord that are classified as more opaque.
Oh and about the Caran d'ache neocolors: try the neoPASTELS instead from them, they're expensive, but I'm sure you'll like them (I think that was the type you initially were going for)
Thanks for watching and the informative comment, pink cloud! 💗 I’ll look at the front of the tube next time :) I will also add neopastels to my future haul list - I think you’re right that it’s what I expected!
I love your videos, the fact that you go art supply shopping and it's a bussiness purchase is pretty cool😂 I think non artists don't know how hard it is to find a GOOD tiny brush,I still don't have the perfect one for watercolor paintings/acrylic paintings💀
Thank for watching, Alina! 😊 While it’s a business expense…it’s still EXPENSIVE 😂 And people wonder why artwork costs so much?! Lol And yeah, the hunt for the perfect brush is a life journey lolll
I’ve been eyeing the neocolors but they looked drier than I expected might try out the ii instead someday, btw your vid’s are so cozy and I appreciate how the swatches look very high quality! 😊
Thank you so much for watching and the sweet comment 💕 glad i tried it so you don’t have to 😂 Although folks say here that if you add water it gives more of an oil pastel feel. I think I’ll try the ii sometime also.
Try the Caran D'ache Neocolor II . They are the best!! Great watercolor crayons.........give them a try. Hint: get the big set, you'll feel bad that you didn't.❤ Sorry your Neo broke you may want to try holding the crayon closer to the base.
The R and F oil sticks are SO expensive in the U.K.! I was given a pack from Creative Mark brushes years ago and I love them - I still use them everyday - though they are taped up because the dog had a chewing fest one day!
They are pretty dang expensive here too unfortunately:( speaking of dogs, mine got into my last R&F stick 🤦🏻♀️ Her face and paws were all blue after lollll cheeky rascals!
@@FionaCArt I dropped a full pan of paint yesterday - she chewed that up! With dogs chewing and cats tippy toeing on my paints on the table - and the HAIRS! AAARGH! Helen x
Comment 2 lol-(don’t feel a need to respond). I have that same set of Neocolor I. I like them for mark making or resist with watercolors. But I have a ton of the twos; they are softer, blend great dry and are so fun when wet. And breaking them is the juiciness of being an artist! I have a container of broken pieces and keep them on my desk because I like how they look lol
Id like to see a painting you do with the liquitex gauche set,...im kinda interested in the winsor newton pro art watercolor marker set...im thinking of adding that to my xmas list...thanks for this review it was interesting i also like the oddly shape water pad too...wish i wasnt on a no buy art supply due to husband and fur family member both going to hospital....what is the odds for two whopping medicals vistits within a week of each other ....thank goodness nothing very serious but stil medical we have to pay the pricey bills its okay atleast we had a small savings in reserve but its empty now, and theres so many art supplies id like to purschase along with art pieces...xmas wait is hard when you see art stores doing christmas in july sales....but i did have fun with your primeday shopping, did you do a review video of those products you received??? I will try to show some footage of me working with the set in a video :) you can’t go wrong with Winsor and Newton watercolors IMO! I’m sorry about the medical expenses - I really do feel your pain. 😔 but I am glad everyone is ok. Yes, I did the prime day haul! It’s on my channel now :) stay well and stay inspired!
Neo color 2 feel more like oil I have a set they feel so smooth when laying down, them if you add water wow..I also have fabrell markers I like them also... if you dont want line showing thru I use a cutting board and scribble on it with the marker I really like the liquitex blue wow...then pick up with my watercolor brush omgoddess I love love the watercolor pad shape....I do to like that shape..you might like the derwent graphitint watersolutble set in pans they are very earthy grandulation looking colors I have them..and not sure if you have any but derwent inktense blocks are good for layering....mikelle art mom👩🎨🎨✍
Thank you for watching as always :) I’m definitely going to try water with the neocolor 1 set, but the 2 sounds good too :) I’ll also add derwent inktense block to my list! Hope you are well :)
Hi Fiona i am a huge posca fan too, and i have also tried The Molotow markers because I like that they are refillable and have more colours to choose from then Posca. But i have one problem with them….the paint dry out on the tip and in the part where the colour goes into the tip, if you don’t use them for a while…
Thanks for watching, Hanne! I’ll have to keep an eye out for that happening with mine since I’m still new to them. That’s a bummer they dry out :/ I do really like the colour range and I’m excited to get more to play with. Hopefully in more sizes too! Have a lovely weekend :)
I tend to use gravity in my favor so I work flat instead of on an easel so it flows more to the tip. If you’re working upright that can definitely happen.

😂 Ain’t that the truth!! It’s addictive!

I felt called out too - it’s ok 😂

😂
I love your cardigan!!! Didn’t even think of Presidents’ Day sales on art supplies!
Seemed to mostly be online honestly, but it was worth a shot and I did get some discounts 😊 Thank you for watching, Emee!

Thank you for watching, Kathleen 💕 I hope you get to try acrylic gouache sometime too. Have a lovely weekend!
Neopastels by Caran d'Ache are the oil pastels. Neocolor II are the same as the Neocolor I except they are watersoluble. I love all 3
Oh boy - I’m gonna have to try more! 😂 thanks for watching :)

i have that same oddly shaped fabriano pad as well lol
Do you love it?! :)
What were those tubes of color at the beginning and you held a green one? Is it pigment powders? Really like the door of the store 😊
Wasn’t the door so cute?! 🥰 Those are R&F oil sticks.

Add water to those neo color 2. Just a little will create an oil paint like consistancy , more water a water color consistancy.
I’m definitely going to try that :) thanks for watching!
What is the color nr/name of that blue liquitex soft body acrylic? The shade of blue looks so pretty and would be a perfect blue for my collection :)
It’s so good right?! It’s called “phthalocyanine blue (green shade)”
Do you ever find that the tiny brushes push the paint to the edges of the brush onto the surface? Does that make sense? Am I using them wrong?
I tend to use gravity in my favor so I work flat instead of on an easel so it flows more to the tip. If you’re working upright that can definitely happen.
Once you add water to the pastels the magic happens 😃
I know what I’m up to this weekend 😃 Thanks for watching!!

Some folks are saying just add water to create an oil texture so I know what I’ll be trying this weekend 😊
Sweet music!
I liked this song too! :) thanks for watching 😊

I’m sorry but almost 2,500 dollars for some paint…well excuse me????
If I pay 2,500 for paint, there better be a painter attached to it creating a piece for me 😂

Canson watercolor paper for the swatches 😊
