WoW so helpful this video ! I’m always getting lost when I search something on Amazon. I get to see so many supplies that it’s overwhelming to shop. I’m now only buying the supplies I’m using and that are almost gone. The luminance are by far the best pencils, but I buy them at local shops. Don’t trust to buy those at Amazon & here in Belgium cheaper :)
Hi Mira (or anyone else reading this), could you please recommend your favorite pencil sharpener? Your pencils are sharpened so neatly, I need that too in my life🤣😂❤️
Mitsubishi Pencil Sharpener. I actually had a segment about it in this video and deleted it before I posted it because I couldn't find it on Amazon anymore. :( it's such a good sharpener though!
I hope you don't mind me saying this, but you are positively radiant hun!. I think motherhood suits you. Thank you for a very laidback video. You are so peaceful and watching you always makes me relax, so thank you for that. God bless you and Dorv and the twinnies.
My hubby got me the same Prismacolour set for Christmas too! I had the 72 set before hand. My favourite thing to paint on lately are wooden canvases. Or better yet, just the panel!
I love your videos, especially the ones you use what you love. I also had a love hate relationship with Prismas and lately I've gone back to loving them.
Thank you for sharing! You totally cracked me up when you shook the Posca - lol! I’d love to also see what you love that is NOT available on Amazon. 1) I’ll be less likely to spend money if they are hard to buy and 2) I just really enjoy looking at art supplies. Have a great day!
Hi Mira thank you for the lovely video today , it was very interesting and great to be recommended different art supplies . I love the way you show something you have created with each product aswell. You are always very inspiring. You have a beautiful day too.
I was watching some of her old videos ( my favorite ones) I really like how she just randomly sees a person and is able to draw them. I don't know how so many people can do that. I can draw a simple easy portrait that I find on youtube and stuff. Would love to see a video on how you draw portraits seeing people in real life. I might not be able to do it but, can give it a shot.
I always get excited, when you upload a video. You are always so inspiring no matter what you do in your videos. The way you talk about art and art products and creating… it just helps me remember how much I love to create and it motivates me even when I am so down. Thank you ❤️
One thing recently I bought were the wooden ornaments cuz you and Chloe Rose had both painted on them recently. I have a whole wishlist of art supplies on Amazon for when I have alil extra that i can buy them. These are some good products i hope to try one day. Adding to wishlist now. Another product I've been wanting to try is that exact set of jelly guache cuz they look so smooth and can be both watercolor and acrylic.
Love vine charcoal. The professor in my first college painting class made us buy it and I cannot start a painting without it. And I really need to try the jelly guache!
I love the Claybord for mixed media. I go to town with sandpaper and metal pads to get distressed layers. I have found, though all my research of different stores that Blick has by far the best price on all the Ampersand bord products. And if you use that site that gives cash back for purchases, Blick has 2% back. My biggest advice is to shop around. In the US the best sites I have found are Blick, Micheal's, Jerry's Artarama, Cheap Joe's and Jackson's Art Supply (UK based company, won't ship everything to the US but their shipping options are extremely reasonable and quite often a lot faster than FedEx within the US). I totally understand about fatigue. I am dealing with a chronic illness and due to an insurance screw up, I had to cancel my last treatment so I've been struggling! Focus is hard to come by and pain and stiffness has increased. I work when I can and try not to let it get me down. Good luck with the little ones! They'll be here so soon!
@@MiraByler Mine too! I have to be careful on the website and am lucky that the nearest store is tough for me to get to. I'll have to try the Gessobord for my acrylic paintings but I have wood rounds to use up first.
Awesome video with great art supplies 🙌 I hope this doesnt come out negative, but ugh Amazon, I hope people that can (I get that I might be more privileged then others) will buy their art supplies from local art stores instead of supporting Amazon! Thanks for the fun video Mira ❤️😊
Totally understand where you’re coming from! I get a majority of mine from Blick’s. 💜💜 The reason why I chose Amazon for this video is because many of my viewers are from other countries, and don’t have the opportunity to get certain brands of supplies from their local art stores. I just hope this helps them!
Thank you for sharing your favorite art supplies. I come in the proverbial back door when it comes to painting. I do love watercolor paintings, but mine, well look very amateurish.😥 I have much better results using Ink, Inktense and Neocolor ii Caran D’Ache pastels. You might like to try them. Lindsay Weirich has a couple of videos on them. I love your paintings and Golden is one I would use. Take care, rest as much as you can. Do enjoy your pregnancy! It’s such a wonderful blessing and miracle. You, your husband, doctor and your babies are in my thoughts, prayers and heart ❤️. Fran
Thank-you for this video! I enjoyed it! Straight to the point. Great information and gor-jus art work! Ive subscribed! You are such a pleasant personality its refreshing! Im 58..newly retired and exploring what I loved to do but kinda laid down. Congrats on new life!! Thanks again!!🇨🇦
I have the 72 set of Prismacolor sitting in my art room waiting for me to use them 😅 my Momma got them for me years ago and I was so grateful ❤️ I have turned into a somewhat digital artist at the moment so I guess that's what I'm enjoying most! But that's largely due to time (as I don't have a lot of it !) So time finding art supplies and setting them up is time I'm creating instead 😅
I have the 150 Prismacolors, Love them. 🙂 The box is pretty too. Got them when they are on sale. They have so many pretty colors. My mom always used Prismacolored Pencil. She says that's all you need. I beg to differ. 😁 I wanna try the Posca pens.
My sweet brother got me oil paints for my birthday this year since I expressed interest in trying oil painting. Unfortunately I am pregnant as well! Saving them for over the summer when I am no longer pregnant and can paint outside. :)
I really tried to love prisma color pencils they keep breaking. I even have the Prisma watercolor pencils and they break too. My go to color pencils are Faber Castell polychromos I got the 120 set to me that was the best investment I’ve made. I loveeee them! I do want to try Carandache 😬 like you said pretty pricey.
I just buy the cheap art supplies. The most expensive art supply I have, I only got yesterday and that is the Faber Castell polychromos. They are so good.
Have you tried water mixable oil paint? I just got it a subscription box and I'm very confused and intrigued by it lol. I've never used traditional oil because I have been terrified of catching something on fire lol
I prefer traditional oils, but I know a lot of people who like water soluble oils. That is an understandable fear! I try to avoid as many solvents as I can and stick with just the oil paints and walnut oil when possible, and that gives me some peace of mind!
@@MiraByler good to know! Thank you. The water soluble ones have a texture that I really like so maybe I'll work up to traditional so I can play with that more 😊💜
@@MiraByler hihi I’m the same ! Currently I’m obsessed with working with charcoal combined with acrylic medium and acrylic paint … but could be something different next month :) That’s the beauty of art !
Hey Mira, could you possibly give me the price of the 150 set of prisma color colored pencils? And if you can’t I will totally understand. Love your videos!
Himi is only good for sketchbook. They fade out sometimes. sarah burns studio made a test on lightfastness. There are some that fading to zero. Be aware😊.
Please don't recommend Prismacolor to someone who whants to get pro. If they sell pictures drawn with these they basically betray their customers. Prismas are not lightfast, produce a wax bloom so fast and are prone to breakage. But the first reason is the most important because it means that the picture won't last long hanging in a room with daylight. And that ruins the whole point of selling art.
I understand you have a different opinion, but I encourage you to look up a lightfastness chart for these pencils. Just like any other art supply, each color has a different lightfast rating, and many are actually rated between excellent and good. Few have a poor rating, and the ones that do tend to be neon colors. www.dick-blick.com/pdfs/20508color.pdf I've never had bad experiences with a picture created with Prismacolor Premier pencils not lasting long. I know plenty of professional artists who use Prismacolors and sell their work too, and have not had bad experiences. If a piece is hung out of direct sunlight, not in a humid environment, and cared for properly, then it should be fine. It's not really going to fade in our lifetime anyway. But again, I hear you and if you don't want to use them that's totally fine! Each artist is different, and that's totally okay!
@@MiraByler 65 of them have no lightfastness at all and only 85 of them are on level 1 or 2, with the highest being 3. They don't have a single one on the highest level and 65 with none at all - that are more than a few. Maybe the standards in Europe are higher, but here Prismas are also way more expensive and almost as much as Polychromos, especially in Germany. 🤷♀️
I love videos where you just talk about art supplies, this is MY KIND OF STUFF. It's exciting seeing what art supplies dif artists enjoy ^__^
