I haven’t seen a single one of these where he hasn’t impressed his guest with at least one question. There’s always this look of surprise and this little moment where they’re remembering something they’re fond of.
His style of research is so thorough which makes the interview a mix of one two punches from the sauce, but also a very wholesome almost nostalgic series of questions. Did you know he looks up newspapers from the hometown of the guests growing up? If that isnt dedication to the craft, I dunno what is.
don’t give him too much credit, he’s literally just trying to be like nardwar. even JT said “that was some nardwar shit wow”. give credit where it’s due. easy to follow, not easy to lead. props to nard
Hot Take: Sean Evans studied and practiced social psychology. He does a whole lot to make the guest more comfortable or like him more. He mirrors their words and movements, affirms their ideas, and he swears (very sparsely). In the end, he’s such a GREAT interviewer.
S well I don’t think it’d be too hard to learn a few simple techniques and practice them to get good at his actual job. He probably wouldn’t be able to teach social psych. But I think it’s like being a talented guitar player without actually being a professional musician.
Yeah, liked that moment too. One can only imagine how dull a press tour must be for a star like JT. Suddenly there is this guy who eats spicy chicken wings for a living who tells him: "Of course I know who you are, but I will not treat you anything more or less than a human being faced with these insanely hot wings. We are both professionals. Cool?". That must mean a lot when otherwise confronted with so many hacks. Sean Evan's achievement as an interviewer can not be understated.

I always respect a guest who cleans wings deep into the interview. Watching him continue to take bites of the 9th wing while answering questions, then loading up the last dab....respect.
Yeah, I feel like if you calculated capsaicin consumed, the amount put on that last one might bump JT above all the 'dab every wing' folk, probably forgetting something though
i applaud people like that but genuinely feel worried, they didnt have to do that eating hot wing is challenged enough. just be there and be real and get comfortable is enough for me.
I really like the way hot ones interview the guests. It never feels like they are attacking them with awful questions. Everyone just enjoying themselves and hot wings 😂
Sean is hands down the best interviewer I have ever seen. He makes each person who comes on feel like a friend he's known for years. It gives the audience a unique look into lesser known stories. Keep at it Sean! I cant wait to see where your career goes!
He's utterly engaged; he's prepared, every time, to a degree few interviewers ever bother to be; and he's one of the most genereous I've ever seen. The "shared pain" setting helps I think on the guest's part, but Sean makes the whole thing work. HUge bonus points that it makes me interested to listen to a hundred celebs I honestly have zero interest in otherwise... and enjoy their conversation. Top marks.
Woody Harrelson is lowkey one of the great living actors. He's not a showboater, he just puts in the damn workand he's always always convincing. I used to laugh at him too for that Rampart IAMA, but really he just didn't understand wth was happening y'know? Like, on the junket you talk about the movie you're pushing and he figured it was just more of that. Not that my fuckin opinion matters but I forgive him lol.
Wow. Justin crushed that. One of the most respectable runs. Big bites, no water / milk, not cocky, never fell apart or got mean, gave good answers. Respect.
I really love how Sean makes everyone so comfortable by the end of it even as their discomfort levels increase. He connects on a real, human, and personable level. A+!

Just wait until the new Bill and Ted movie releases. They will have to do their press rounds and hopefully this is be on the tour. I can almost guarantee it.
3:11 Underrated moment in this interview: When Sean talks Justin Timberlake into relaxing by convincing the guest that the interview is an honor and an achievement for the interviewer, not a gotcha-seeking vehicle exploiting the guest. And it's dope because you can see the moment both of them look each other in the eye and get on the same page about the experience.
Yeah i guess for some celebs they are always worried the interviewer is trying to start drama or get dirt or stir up controversy meanwhile Sean is just a bro making good content via some of if not the best interviewing questions.
Sean is by far the best celebrity interviewer around. The hot ones team does an unparalleled amount of research on their guests. He's the new "gold standard" for the industry imo. I hope this show goes on until Sean physically can't continue it.
@@JSp4wN nardwuar's research is deeper and imo better (and visibly freaks guests out in s way that sean doesn't). Sean's likeability and chemistry with guests is much better though.

@@puffdaddy69 very true.. and he also has to let guest know exactly what the question is... they can't move on until they answer ... it's also a form of mind warfare if you will. That's part of what makes these Hot Ones videos so entertaining
I think I've found my new favorite interview. Sean carries himself with such class and realism. I love a good realist. And JT is always such a fucking treat. Amazing episode!
I credit Sean. He keeps these guys at ease, asks them real questions, gets them to talk about their passions, and they seem like real human beings instead of mythical asshole creatures. And the wings knocking them down a peg helps. 😂
Actually got to meet JT and Jessica Biel at random in NY back when he was touring 2020 experience. It surprised me how super genuine he was on a human level while at the time clearly displaying signs of being burdened by fame. I still look fondly back on that memory as a sort of breaking the fourth wall when it comes to celebrity status. They are all people at the end of the day.
Sean on a first date: Sean: "how's life?" Date: "Oh my aunt made food and it was nasty" Sean: "yeah, do you mean Lauren's meatloaf or Rachel's spaghetti and meatballs" Date: "how do you know that?? Who told you?" Sean: *smiles*
Justin Timberlake: yea yea yea yea sure sure sure yea yea yea sure sure sure yea yea yea Me in my head Andy Samberg style: cool cool co co co cool cool cool
My favorite thing in Hot Ones is when they get to the “dab”. Sean always says, “You don’t have to” and just about every single person gets that look, like “Oh no bro, it’s on now”. Love it!
The mans a warrior. Until the end of the video I was like “damn, he can’t really handle spice” and then he said “no water bitches” and that’s when I realized he’s stronger than me haha
This guy has been constantly entertaining me since I was a little kid and NSync came out. Shouts to him and hot ones for dropping and episode with all the chaos right now!
Also at the end when he asked JT if he wanted to come back on the show, his answer was so honest. Sean you have changed interviews completely. People go not just for publicity but for something genuine.
The show description should be "celebrities answer questions that they weren't asked" because I feel like the further down the hot sauce line they go, the more off topic their answers become as they struggle to think through a response. J wasn't too bad, but some of these interviews can be really funny as you watch them to try answer while they mouth is on fire and after talking for a couple of minutes they never really end up answering the question they were asked. Great interviews though, Sean is so fantastic at interviewing!
"you get another opportunity you get another opportunity and now I'm sitting in front of Justin Timberlake shootin' the shit over wings. what am I suppose to do? run away from that?"that's why you're so powerful. bless you Sean you deserve it

Hoops1330 defo a pimento moment.. "yeah yeah sure sure sure"
Was thinking the same thing haha
He's good friends with Andy Samberg maybe that's why
Thank God! I came to the comments section looking for this especific comment!
I always respect a guest who cleans wings deep into the interview. Watching him continue to take bites of the 9th wing while answering questions, then loading up the last dab....respect.
this
Well some of them probably can’t Handle the spice so how are they gonna keep biting 😂
Easily the most respectable thing
I bet he regretted it
AND without touching the water too. Mad respect.
growing up to JT's music, I loved this interview and the way he behaves and talks it still feels like he's in his mid 20's, absolute legend that guy.
@Jayzen same! And I love this interview for the fact that u can tell JT was guarded at first but then he opened up.
he is the mN YO
He has never changed!
Justin Timberlake: national treasure. Didn't take a sip of water and put an insane amount of Last Dab on the final wing. RESPECT!
Yeah, I feel like if you calculated capsaicin consumed, the amount put on that last one might bump JT above all the 'dab every wing' folk, probably forgetting something though
Couldnt believe that either. No water or milk..and he ate alot of each wing. 10 outta 10. Nice work Justin.
This and Efron we’re back to back powerhouse episodes, super entertaining
Yessssss
Big sean was fun too
Right? I thought about that. They were cool af during the interviews.
Hot Ones got me respecting some people more than I expected.
A A baaaack to back
JT joins the "no water, no milk" crew, impressive.
Samuel Prince #MEW I noticed this too! Haven’t seen many other comments that recognized this!!
i applaud people like that but genuinely feel worried, they didnt have to do that eating hot wing is challenged enough.
just be there and be real and get comfortable is enough for me.
Tennessee Palate. And I'm from Michigan, but I'm not surprised and I'm not ignorant to how spicy food can get there, mayne.
He's from Memphis so...
At 3:07 you can hear his glass get put down as Sean asks a question.
Ummmmmmmm
I really like the way hot ones interview the guests. It never feels like they are attacking them with awful questions. Everyone just enjoying themselves and hot wings 😂
Sean is hands down the best interviewer I have ever seen. He makes each person who comes on feel like a friend he's known for years. It gives the audience a unique look into lesser known stories. Keep at it Sean! I cant wait to see where your career goes!
Keep in mind he's also got some great writers and researchers... It takes a team. But yes, he's a legend.
Sean is a national treasure.
Sean is insane, such a talented dude and he has won the respect of some pretty heavy names.
He’ll have a late night show in a few years time. Mark my words.
Sean is great but Nardguar is the best imo
Let’s take the time to appreciate how good of a host Sean Evans is.
86mdwolfie Watch the compilation videos of Sean receiving props from guests. It’s awesome seeing him get the recognition he deserves.
I watch these videos more for Sean than the celebrities
Which one of them is Sean?
Nico1428 tan jacket
Nico1428 boi you actually asked that 😂
Honestly if Hot ones ends someday, Sean needs to teach interviewing in college.
FACTS!!!
he needs to TA for nardwuar
And Nardwuar
he wasn't this good until he interviewed eddie huang. see that hot one video with him and you'll see
He's utterly engaged; he's prepared, every time, to a degree few interviewers ever bother to be; and he's one of the most genereous I've ever seen.
The "shared pain" setting helps I think on the guest's part, but Sean makes the whole thing work. HUge bonus points that it makes me interested to listen to a hundred celebs I honestly have zero interest in otherwise... and enjoy their conversation.
Top marks.
Wow he finessed this challenge. No drink & a hard dab. He a hall of famer for that. I have a deeper respect for him now.
JT: "Have you ever met Woody?"
Sean : "No, Never. I want him on the show so bad."
So do we Sean, So. Do. We.
But he can only ask him questions about Rampart
Sergio Leal u yung n bout this paperrrr.
ruclips.net/video/AGcXbqO9nFg/видео.html
Woody Harrelson is lowkey one of the great living actors. He's not a showboater, he just puts in the damn workand he's always always convincing.
I used to laugh at him too for that Rampart IAMA, but really he just didn't understand wth was happening y'know? Like, on the junket you talk about the movie you're pushing and he figured it was just more of that. Not that my fuckin opinion matters but I forgive him lol.
ruclips.net/video/hnjkqQLDQ0k/видео.html
Wow. Justin crushed that. One of the most respectable runs. Big bites, no water / milk, not cocky, never fell apart or got mean, gave good answers. Respect.
He did say fuck you Sean I'm pretty sure
he looked very trained in spicy foods
I really love how Sean makes everyone so comfortable by the end of it even as their discomfort levels increase. He connects on a real, human, and personable level. A+!
You have the same name as my sister
I'm guessing this was made before Corona... "go see Trolls April 10th"...
:|
Its for this reason that i think hes the greatest interviewer ive seen. Anyone else that tries to do the same , like the late night talk show hosts, just come off as fake.
Its for this reason that i think hes the greatest interviewer ive seen. Anyone else that tries to do the same , like the late night talk show hosts, just come off as fake.
Sean is everyones homie.
Dude is a straight savage for not even drinking water. Biggest respect to him! JT the real Justin, not JB.
"I'm human, I'm human."-exactly what an Android would say after eating the wings of death with no flinch.

@@Ena48145 stfu u lame
the fact that andy samberg has never been on hot ones is borderline criminal
They need Andy right now
Yuppppp
Wonder if Clint Eastwood could handle it
@@douglasvilledarling2935 I’d LOVE to see Clint do this.
Unfortunately I think Cllint Eastwood is too old now. Like the last couple movies I’ve thought, there’s no way he directed that whole movie!
He’s chiller and cooler than I thought he’d be
And this was the chillest reaction I’ve seen so far on the show from Da Bomb 💣
If I remember correctly, Gary Vee had a good reaction to Da Bomb also.
See David Blaine. Who didn’t react at ALL!
People ain’t even talking about how ya boy went no water without making a big deal about it except one mention at the very end.
yea i didnt even notice somehow! n then he said it n i was like daaamn boy
I know right!
"yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah sure sure sure sure sure" is Justin's version of "cool cool cool cool cool no doubt no doubt"
The dream meme team I mean they are friends in real life
My thoughts exactly 😂
Always hit em with the yeah yeah yeah yeah no doubt no doubt
Is it a possibility that this is JT's thing and Andy just picked it up as a running joke in B99
You can see how humbled and honor JT was by Sean's explanation for why he does hot ones 🥰
@@JSp4wN nardwuar's research is deeper and imo better (and visibly freaks guests out in s way that sean doesn't). Sean's likeability and chemistry with guests is much better though.
In other words manipulation
Wow Justin handled that like a pro. Prolly one of the best ones I’ve seen.
We really need Ryan Reynolds on here. And now that Justin Timberlake mentioned him, we REALLY need Woody Harrelson on here too.
At what part
@@Abdul_-wr8yt @11:08, they are talking about when JT filmed Friends With Benefits with Mila Kunis where Woody Harrelson played JT's boss in the movie.
@@nathanflannery3031 thx
Agree
Woody cares too much about his colon to ever guest on here
The face Sean makes after JT asks "Do you have good legal?" says it all.
Sean: “What am I supposed to do run away from that”
*Justin Timberlakes gaze of respect* “alright bro” *fist bump*😂😂😂
Love hearing Justin all the time. I just love him. So down to earth.
An underrated performance by JT here. No milk. No water. Took more than one bite on each wing. Solid 9/10 performance and top 5 overall.
Plus the almost Coolio level last dab.
id give that a ten out of ten man !
@@jord4z same! Love jt

right whos the other 4?
”That’s some Nardwuar shit”
That’s such good compliment, I respect that!
That's a huge compliment. Nardwuar is a living legend.
Real ones know
I love how Sean says the entire question when it's obvious the guest is getting fucked up in the brain, then he just repeats it lol.
One of his many talents. Not many interviewers have the patience to read questions multiple times
@@puffdaddy69 very true.. and he also has to let guest know exactly what the question is... they can't move on until they answer ... it's also a form of mind warfare if you will. That's part of what makes these Hot Ones videos so entertaining
I love your profile pic lmao 🤣😁😭
Sean the interview ninja and then there’s brass knuckles randy
I think I've found my new favorite interview. Sean carries himself with such class and realism. I love a good realist. And JT is always such a fucking treat. Amazing episode!
It's like a bald Justin Timberlake is interviewing Justin Timberlake with hair
LMAO
Lol.. They have the same chill vibe.. just like the Sean and Big Sean interview.. lol
😂
I thought they were brothers lol
It's so weird to see Sean Evans interviewing himself.
I was looking for this comment....thank u
Yessssss lmao
You mean the younger version of himself.
Hahaha I've always thought this. JT if he was follicly challenged
Now we need him to be in a music video with Jt
These interviews are always so genuine. Even if I'm not a fan of the celebrity, I always love them by the end of the video.
Some I didn't even knew, then got me thinking... WOW this person is great I have to become a fan!
I credit Sean. He keeps these guys at ease, asks them real questions, gets them to talk about their passions, and they seem like real human beings instead of mythical asshole creatures. And the wings knocking them down a peg helps. 😂
Can’t fake it when you got more then a million scoville inside you
Well not with dj khalid he sucks
Same, except for Shea LaDouche.
Sean on a first date:
Sean: "how's life?"
Date: "Oh my aunt made food and it was nasty"
Sean: "yeah, do you mean Lauren's meatloaf or Rachel's spaghetti and meatballs"
Date: "how do you know that?? Who told you?"
Sean: *smiles*
Is it wierd that I pictured that scenario? 😂😂
Very coincidental
That date would be a male in Sean and Justin Timberlake's cases.
😂😂😂
Lmao
8:54 "Did you ever consider that this whole thing is like a health hazard?" That statement definitely hits differently now than when they filmed it

My favorite thing in Hot Ones is when they get to the “dab”. Sean always says, “You don’t have to” and just about every single person gets that look, like “Oh no bro, it’s on now”. Love it!
Lisa CJ you tell someone they shouldn’t or don’t have too. And most of the time they will do it
The mans a warrior. Until the end of the video I was like “damn, he can’t really handle spice” and then he said “no water bitches” and that’s when I realized he’s stronger than me haha
I'm gonna keep saying it till I see him on the show: *RYAN REYNOLDS*

Also at the end when he asked JT if he wanted to come back on the show, his answer was so honest. Sean you have changed interviews completely. People go not just for publicity but for something genuine.
Probably the episode I went in with the lowest expectations and came out with the most profound respect for the guest for their professional skills

Nardwuar would win.

Yoo for real, he's creeping up to that level of skill now it would be dope to see them in a room together
OMG THIS IS BRILLIANT
Spy vs Spy
The way he said “I was supposed to go to a premiere to support my wife, but I think she’s gonna have to support me” 😂😂😂😂
The show description should be "celebrities answer questions that they weren't asked" because I feel like the further down the hot sauce line they go, the more off topic their answers become as they struggle to think through a response.
