Todrick Hall is genius. This was his production and he asked PTX to bring his vision to life. He attended the same highschool as the original trio, although a bit older. They were not in attendance at the same time. What a full circle moment for all of their musical theatre teachers from Tyler, TX. I want Todrick to take this on Broadway as a full production. Just fabulous
A little fun fact in case you didn’t know, Todrick Hall is from my hometown of Plainview, TX and I’m pretty sure he regularly gives back to the community. Great guy from what I know.
I love what they did with this, it's so masterful. The only thing that always makes me sad is that I don't feel like Kevin was given his deserved prominence. He was such an adorable Toto and the camera was always too quick to pan away from him!
Kirstin was born with a cleft palette and the side mouth singing is from nerve damage from surgery as an infant. She has since had that fixed and doesnt do the side mouth as often. Too bad, really, I find it charming.
I knew she had an issue and a scar on her upper lip, and always wondered if it was due to a cleft palate type of situation. Thank you for confirming my suspicions!
This was actually Todrick's idea & baby & he directed the whole video (you should watch the short behind the scenes video) as part of his Straight Outta Oz album. I would check out Water Guns with Jordan Sparks & Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels. He's definitely got a channel! He's won awards for his work with Taylor Swift (one of his besties) & is a huge voice for the LGBTQ+ community. Loved your reaction to this! Also, Kirstie, Mitch, & Scott are featured on his song Black & White! Thanks, J!
Straight Outta Oz is absolute genius and I would totally love to see a reaction to that whole visual album. Also 90s Disney by Todrick, and Low, and so many more!
You're one of my favorite PTX reactors. I'd love it if you'd put Where Are U Now on your list of PTX songs to potentially react to. I think it'd be up your ally and not many people actually do it.
Hey, Kirsti's lopsided smile, does she ever lose it, or could it be from a medical condition, like mild stroke, (left side effective)? I love her all the same and think she is the best, just wanting to know, and you seem to know everything about them. 😁😁😎
Oh, yeah, Todrick has a channel - keeps as busy as PTX does, which is saying something! You would enjoy the collab he did with Superfruit (Scott and Mitch) and Kirstin called "Black and White" - one hell of a bop, great video, great message :-) (Really enjoy your "nerding out" - my dad was a jazz musician and it gives my heart warm fuzziness- so keep it up, lol)
I love your appreciation of Kirsty's quirk with her side grin while she sings. Apparently she got a lot of grief from singing teachers about how that would totally ruin her singing, but obviously they were wrong. There's nothing wrong with her singing.
Great reaction. Thank you. I learn a lot when I watch your reactions. Todrick is a genius. His productions are always stellar. Todrick grew up in the same area of Texas as Kirstie, Scott and Mitch and knew each other through local theater. Christmas is coming soon, please react to Pentatonix version of "Silent Night". It is an older video. They were on tour in Europe and decided to record the video in an old church for the acoustics. It's amazing!!!
Thank you for calling Avi's " I wanna go home" beautiful! It's one of my favorite parts and I've never heard a reactor comment on it before! This video is amazing, great reaction!
I love how much you appreciate the workmanship that went into this production! 2:18 That is one of the things I find most attractive about her. I don't know why it makes me so happy to see it but its uniquely her and I love it.
I love when you get nerdy about the cord structure!! Haha great reaction! Can’t wait for more! Also, loved you playing at the end to demonstrate for us plebs! That was really helpful.
Just discovered you today! This will forever be one of my favorite early Pentatonix videos! This mashup made me fall for them second to their Rather Be cover. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video too!
Just found you today. I'm watching all your PTX reactions. And so thrilled to see this one. I'm hoping I'll find or you will so Someone I used to know and Sing. Those are 2 of my favs from PTX. SIUTK was the very first PTX song I ever heard. Keep up your AMAZING reactions and energy.
I read that a vocal coach tried to get KIRstin (not Kristan) to stop the side mouth thing. Finally decided it was just an affectation and didn't change her voice.
You sure this wasn’t a Broadway musical bro? I have appreciated this group’s vocal control in the past, but wasn’t really sold until today ~~ with your reaction! Love watching your mind work as you catch all the different harmonies!
Todrick Hall is a Broadway performer. He absolutely LOVES the wizard of oz...his dog's name is Toto. He created his own visual album with the same theme. I hope he can take this to Broadway. He asked PTX to provide the vocals because they (original trio) attended the same highschool, although at different times.
Love your reaction! What an imaginative arrangement of all the different songs & how they were used to tell the story of The Wizard of Oz. This was a stunning production from all aspects, right down to costumes, locations, backgrounds, etc. Thanks for reacting to it.
Thanks to Todrick Hall. I hope he makes it a full length show and takes it to Broadway. Todrick was on American Idol. Worked on RuPaul's show. Played in 'Kinky Boots' on Broadway. Has a McDonald's commercial. He's uber talented. He was also on the Masked Singer.
DUDE! It says "by Todrick Hall featuring Pentatonix. This is Todricks production where PTX helped out. Todrick has done other similar projects with other musicians. Todrick deserves credit for his creation.
He's got credit lol check the description and titles. These videos get sent to me and I react blindly so I may say the wrong thing because I don't know. I make sure I post the correct thing in the titles as well as description !
Kirstie (Like Thirsty) She has been working on correcting or hiding that pretty much most of her career. I always thought it was so Cool. Nerd out my man nerd out!! Love this every time I hear it!
I just love your reactions!! They are so insightful and fun to watch!!! Thanks for the awesome job you do for PTX and the other acapella groups on RUclips!! They don't get the credit they deserve!!!
I freakin appreciate/love when you make the face when they make those lil changes and nuances in they arrangements it shows me how much you listen and can appreciate they work that the artists have put into what they love and I just wanted to Say how incredibly talented you are to be able to hear and understand those things so THANK YOU AND KEEP ON REACTING if you haven’t already will you react to some of Yebba’s tiny desk concert I think you would like that! Ok bye ✌️
Jarvis, I love your reactions. I know you are an accomplished musician, which gives your opinions more weight, but when you were discussing the last chord and trying to demonstrate it on a keyboard.....wow! Impressive. Thank you for reacting to PTX. I look forward to more reactions of PTX material.
Todrick does have a video channel. This video was his brain child. He makes amazing videos esp. Disney parody videos, bit you should check out his 4 series. I suggest four 90s, four disney or four Beyonce.
Hey Jarvis, don't know if you'll get this since it's been awhile but if you get the chance, watch or react to Todrick Hall's video Queen-it was filmed in Ukraine just weeks before the war started! It's an amazingly beautiful song about being your authentic self & not just going along with what's not right & fighting for freedom! It's kind of different but it's a bop plus has a great message. You might also like Water Guns & Painting in the Rain! Mwah🥰
Did anyone catch what character Kevin played? Most people miss it. But he is Toto. Check out the dog ears on his hat. Nice touch. Hope and joy to you. Pass it on. =^;^=
Love this one because it's souch fun and I love Todrick too. Ok next up is their (PTX) latest, The Prayer (ok it's on my list for you). I can't wait to see your reaction to it.
I don't know what she did but I am with you I love her little crooked smile. But she no longer has it. And I miss it so much because that made her different. Not that she's not different. I just miss her Crooked Smile😢
I once again will beg you to rewind to whatever part you are explaining to those of us who wish they were music nerds but aren't. Great reaction though for sure. The backing harmonies are Pentatonix signature I think.
lol sorry! I always feel like people will get annoyed with me rewinding. Feel free to rewind and check it out. I tried to at least play it this time what I was talking about 😊😊😊😊
If I remember correctly, this was made right before Avi chose to leave the group. So when he sings as the Cowardly Lion, wanting to go home, I can't help but wonder if he was struggling with the decision while making this. It's amazing!!!
I LOVE when someone reacts to this one and has a musical background! A lot of people don’t appreciate what they did here lol
Agree!!!
Yes. I agree. There was one reactor who had no idea and I was frustrated
I completely agree! The Charismatic Voice is another trained musician that can really dissect all the different aspects and layers.
Todrick Hall featuring PTX. This is all his creativity, his production.
A little fun fact in case you didn’t know, Todrick Hall is from my hometown of Plainview, TX and I’m pretty sure he regularly gives back to the community. Great guy from what I know.
That half of her smile is for you. The rest of it is for someone special, and we ain't the one.
I love what they did with this, it's so masterful. The only thing that always makes me sad is that I don't feel like Kevin was given his deserved prominence. He was such an adorable Toto and the camera was always too quick to pan away from him!
ahhhh yes!!! agreed soooo good though!
Kirstin was born with a cleft palette and the side mouth singing is from nerve damage from surgery as an infant. She has since had that fixed and doesnt do the side mouth as often. Too bad, really, I find it charming.

Ill check out the behind the scenes for sure! thanks 😊😊😊
Water Guns by Toddrick Hall is a tearjerker. Definitely worth it!!
Enjoyed the reaction. Kirstie's little side smile is adorable. I highly recommend Mitch Grassi's cover of Billie Eilish's Your Power. It's stunning.
Love Mitch's song!
Yes!
It really is so beautiful. I know you will love it!
It's Kirstin (Maldonado)
@@peanutbooandcody Not really sure who you're talking to, but if you're talking to me, I know her full name is Kirstin but they call her Kirstie.
You're one of my favorite PTX reactors. I'd love it if you'd put Where Are U Now on your list of PTX songs to potentially react to. I think it'd be up your ally and not many people actually do it.

LOVE that you did this one!!! Your enthusiasm, your joy, your respect for the artists is so apparent!!! Thankyou thankyou thankyou!!!
Love your reactions! Let’s kick the beat up a notch with PTX’s New Rules/Are You That Somebody. Those beats, that bass, and SING!!!! 🔥🔥
Great reaction. Thank you. I learn a lot when I watch your reactions. Todrick is a genius. His productions are always stellar. It wouldn’t be Kirstin without the side smile. I believe the fans love it.
Recommend their Rather Be, Sound Of Silence, and Amazing Grace.
yup!!! Love it !
I love this Todrick is sooooo creative you’ve gotta checkout his other stuff omg!
Another with Todrick is Black and white is very cool.
Just discovered you today! This will forever be one of my favorite early Pentatonix videos! This mashup made me fall for them second to their Rather Be cover. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video too!
I would love to see your reaction to Pentatonix (sing)! You are the best!
That little smirk Kirstin does singing I think is so fing cute! I love watching her sing just to see that smirk🥰
I read that a vocal coach tried to get KIRstin (not Kristan) to stop the side mouth thing. Finally decided it was just an affectation and didn't change her voice.
Kirstie's "smile singing" was actually due to a strange condition she was suffering that she's since had fixed.
ahhh good info! I love that about her it gives her a very distinctive sound!
Listen to Mitch Your Power. Haunting and perfection!!!!
You sure this wasn’t a Broadway musical bro? I have appreciated this group’s vocal control in the past, but wasn’t really sold until today ~~ with your reaction! Love watching your mind work as you catch all the different harmonies!

Found you thru Pentatonix … and you have a new subscriber. Well done, I like the reaction.
Awesome! Thank you! and welcome to the JB Crew!
Love your reaction! What an imaginative arrangement of all the different songs & how they were used to tell the story of The Wizard of Oz. This was a stunning production from all aspects, right down to costumes, locations, backgrounds, etc. Thanks for reacting to it.

Todrick was on American Idol. Worked on RuPaul's show. Played in 'Kinky Boots' on Broadway. Has a McDonald's commercial. He's uber talented. He was also on the Masked Singer.
Loved your reaction as always! Please continue to get nerdy...your musical background adds so much to your reaction and we learn a bit too.
Thank you so much!!

I love that they used Blown Away by CarrieUnderwood, that's my favorite song. Interesting how they made such a dark song so cheerful
You have the best reactions! The joy in your face is awesome!
The line 21st Century Schizoid man comes from King Crimson. You should listen to that one.
I love Toderick Hall
yessss!
Kirstie (Like Thirsty) She has been working on correcting or hiding that pretty much most of her career. I always thought it was so Cool. Nerd out my man nerd out!! Love this every time I hear it!
yooo! yes I love it too! and appreciate you enjoying my nerd moments 🤣🤣🤣
I have noticed Kirsten's lip curl, really noticeable in Mad, Mad World!
Austin Brown from Home Free makes the same side mouth formation in Man of Constant Sorrow. Figured it is some sort of singer thing.
Its a great way to add your own flair. Sometimes a style/genre choice sometimes just a personal choice either way It's great 😊🙌🏽
The pure genius that is Todrick Hall and the amazing PTX, this is a masterpiece! Live your reactions!
Wow, thank you!
I just love your reactions!! They are so insightful and fun to watch!!! Thanks for the awesome job you do for PTX and the other acapella groups on RUclips!! They don't get the credit they deserve!!!

Great reaction
I think this is a totally dope arrangement and every part was perfection PLEASE react to The Sound of Silence by Pentatonix 🙏
I knew the piece was amazing. Your reaction was one of the best!! You have a new subscriber!!
Love, love your reactions!!!
Great reaction! Love your appreciation for the technical aspect of their songs, as well as their pure talent!
Superb reaction. Thank you!
🌟 I LOVE your PENTATONIX reactions!! You give GREAT insight I love how you explain things and I LOVE how you enjoy them!!!😀😀😀
Just curious, have you ever seen The Wizard of Oz? the choices of the songs for each part is genius!!
How nice to see the old gang! Thanks for sharing Jarvis!
yessss! Thanks 😊
This was great to see, though Ive watched it many times.Liked your reaction, thanks.
Todrick does have a video channel. This video was his brain child. He makes amazing videos esp. Disney parody videos, bit you should check out his 4 series. I suggest four 90s, four disney or four Beyonce.
Great reaction! Love all the information!

3:42 am I the only one hearing "A tomato flew around my room"?
💛
Did anyone catch what character Kevin played?
Most people miss it. But he is Toto. Check out the dog ears on his hat.
Nice touch.
Hope and joy to you.
Pass it on. =^;^=
I saw that immediately and wondered why more people didn’t see it.
Love this one because it's souch fun and I love Todrick too. Ok next up is their (PTX) latest, The Prayer (ok it's on my list for you). I can't wait to see your reaction to it.
You need to react to Amazing Grace by ptx. You'll love it.
soooon 😊😊😊😊
I hope you get to react to The Prayer soon 🙏🏽
Has someone ever told you you sound like the youtuber Swoozie? Your voices are almost identical😯 great reaction btw!
You should check out Voice Play Friends on the other side…it’s amazing especially the background and it’s perfect for halloween!
FYI Kirsti was born with a cleft lip and that may have contributed to the side smile
She uses a lot of vocal techniques that Sweet Adelines use. I understand she has that in her background.
I really love your analysis!! I’m a fan… react to more PTX!!
I love your videos! Please react to more PTX!!
I don't know what she did but I am with you I love her little crooked smile. But she no longer has it. And I miss it so much because that made her different. Not that she's not different. I just miss her Crooked Smile😢
This cover was back when Vine was huge 😭
What will put Pentatonix the prayer next on your reactions list?! Can It jump the line?
Her name is Kirsten or Kirsty (Thirsty)
I once again will beg you to rewind to whatever part you are explaining to those of us who wish they were music nerds but aren't. Great reaction though for sure. The backing harmonies are Pentatonix signature I think.
lol sorry! I always feel like people will get annoyed with me rewinding. Feel free to rewind and check it out. I tried to at least play it this time what I was talking about 😊😊😊😊

this video is from 2013, Avi left in 2017, so you are mistaken
Kirstin had a scar from a dog bite at her mouth. She's got it fixed later. You won't see it anymore. It's a bit pitty, but I understand it.
I love the tone and texture it provides! 🙌🏽
How about less talking? That would be so much better.
