Hi! I’m a professional nail tech, and just wanted to say that how you do your nails at home is great! The only thing I can recommend for you, to help with the evenness of the dip.. is to slowly work the base coat up to your cuticle! By that I mean: apply base coat to the bottom/free edge of your nail, dip in powder, apply base coat to the middle portion of your nail, dip again, then apply base coat closer to your cuticle, dip again, THEN apply base coat to the whole nail and dip again. Then just take the drill over any uneven spots like usual. Doing it like that may save you some time! Also I’ve found that cutting off the corners of the nail before filing into almond, stiletto, oval, etc makes the filing process go by a little faster! Hope that may help! ♥️✨💅🏼
the reason why your nails pop off sometimes is because you don’t have an apex, you gotta build the apex by just adding a line down the middle with the base & focus the application in the middle of the nail first! Without the apex your nails aren’t strong enough to hold the length that you do. Hope that helps !
@@kaylaeasterbrook1970 Building the apex with polish is not the best idea cause that can make the polish to not dry completely under the light, is always better to build it with either acrylic, base gel, polygel, builder gel, etc :)
@@kaylaeasterbrook1970 you only need to worry about the apex if the nails are long. I would say the length the lady in the video went is the max to do without building an apex. But your nails will feel much stronger with a good apex, but if they're short, its not needed as much.
@@kaylaeasterbrook1970 I wouldn’t recommend building an apex with nail polish. It won’t dry unless it’s a builder gel! Building an apex can be done with dip powder, polygel, acrylic etc. Anything that’ll dry in a hard material
@@weoweo9 Even with short nails an apex is needed if you don’t want your nails to crack or the nail to split. The apex is an important part of a nail structure with any length.
Loved watching this, Kayli! You did an awesome job! As a nail tech, I would very much recommend lightly filing over the curve of the nail extension, on the side that you're going to attach to your nails, BEFORE you glue them to your nails. I hope that made sense 😅 that way, you don't have to file over your entire nails to make the extension flush and risk overfilling/causing unnecessary damage to your natural nail beds! And second tip, I would start by applying the liquid dip base along the seam of the nail extension to the tip and dip that area first, then apply dip base a hairline away from cuticle to tip and dip, then coat entire nail with the base and dip to help the product lay a lot more flush/blend the extension and strengthen the nails a bit better. Hope this helps 💜
Oh my gawd OK I have a number of things I want to say here: I love your style, you are so cool, and I am subscribing to your channel right now! I really like how you broke that down so simply. I’ve been researching nail techniques now for almost 2 years and I have yet to try any of them, but now, after watching this I’m inspired-I think this is method is gonna be the perfect combination for what I’m going for-I really like how they’re thin like natural nails and how you didn’t add that ugly bump!! I love the shape you picked out and I absolutely love the paint So freaking cute!!! And I love the music you used! 😍
Hi kayliii I’m not a professional nail tech either! Lol but when shaping the nails and doing coffin shape, almond, squoval you can take straight edge nail clippers and cut the excess nail tip off to shorten the filing time!!:)) but I loveeee your nail vids so much they are so calminggg🖤💜🖤💜🖤
soak the dip nails in acetone for about 10 minutes. everything will come off with no - small damage on your nail beds. You can add oil ( like coconut ) into the acetone to help not dry your hands out too much, but i just rub lotion in after and my hands look great! - for soaking I just put acetone in a zip lock bag ( gallon ) and will throw a folded paper towel in there to speed up the process ( rub your nails on the towel lmao ). I also but the zip lock bag inside a bowl with hot - warm water ( heats the water up making it even faster ). :)
for dip removal i recommend filling a bowl with hot water, and then filling a bag with acetone and a paper towel at the bottom, then putting the bag into the bowl and soaking the nails for 10 minutes and rubbing your nails on the paper towel. it’s super easy and the dip comes off amazing!
Fun fact 🤩 You can buy pre-shaped gel nail tips! I get the medium almond tips from Kiara Sky, and I love them! They don’t come pre-etched though, you have to do it yourself
I was inspired by your video! I bought all the same items and tried for the first time last night.....they turned out pretty freaking good for my first time!! I too, always have a fudged middle finger lol and even did it to myself so maybe my finger is just effed. I'm soooo glad to have watched your video and so excited to try this on all my friends and family!
I feel like such an idiot I've been putting fake nails on my whole nail no wonder they don't last longer than a week. I so needed to watch this thank you. I love these nail designs so pretty
Thank you for this video!! So easy to watch and love the flare of your personality 😊 going to buy my supplies and start doing my own nails thanks to you!
I, really really really love your contennnnttt!! I watched one video of you and I thought that was it. Then this video was on my recommendations and ugh I immediately subscribed!!!
Now that you're using clear tips, you could attach tips with base gel polish since the UV light can go through the nail tip. This is like an apres dupe method. With protein bond under base gel polish, this method lasts FOREVER.
that used to happen to me too !! using the rubbing alcohol before applying the dip has helped me with that a lot. because it makes the dip hold to your nail better and longer
Girl same! I usually don't do acrilic, I just do builder gel but it happened to me as well! 😊 I fixed it by doing the prep better. I used to use a buffer to get rid of the shine but I've switched to a e-file and let me tell you it's life changing! Anything that removes the natural oils or shine will work wonders 😊 also, this polish brand is amazing but I'd also recommend kastiny, they're both on amazon and they're both affordable and last to up 3 weeks maybe more
file off the shine, clean with alcohol, and probably use a non acid primer, that helps a lot. (if your nails are really thick you can use a normal acid primer)
I think you should be a nail tech. Like work at a nail salon shop! Or own your own business. Like have a nail shop at you4 house! Those nails turned out amazingly great!! ❤️ 😊
i also do my nails at home and almond nails have a choke hold on me LOL i found that trimming the tip with a nail cutter into a more coffin-like shape before filing saves me a lot of time!!
yessss i love this. i was up for 5 hours last night attempted to almond my first time but with ibd gel and it came out nice i hope it last if not i’m trying this
PLEASE DO MORE NAIL VIDEOS! I'm buying everything that you have and recommend in a week from amazon and I'm going to start doing my nails because of your videos lol. I can't wait to start doing my nails soon so please make more nail videos and tutorials. I can't wait to replicate the green Squidward nails you did back in May lol. :)
After your cuticles care rough up your natural nail bed before you clean them with rubbing alcohol. That makes your nails last longer. You do your nails just like I do 🤩. I get comments non stop on them. I'm not a fan of acrylic it's a pain in the butt. They are absolutely 😍. Be safe and have a wonderful weekend love you 💕 Edit: you can use baking soda for dip it's alot cheaper just use nail glue before you dip
Hey kayli i lobe your videos and your personality. You are so pretty and talented. ❤️❤️🔥💖This Mails are also sooo pretty. Sorry im there are some errors🥺😬🤭
Hey! Just started doing my nails at home too! Do you think you could do a video explaining what you use each on your file tips for? I kind of just use whichever lol.
so if i wanted to get this same style at the actual salon what exactly should i ask for? i just want colored french tips and i’ve never gotten my nails done before but i love the way yours turned out 😩😩
I always use nail cutters to snip of the sides at an angle towards the middle of the nail to start the almond shape then I’ll file the rest it always comes out perfect. And less filing!
I just did mine for the first time and they keep popping off and when I’m done they smell bad and are super sticky and collect a lot of dirt. I’m using all the products you are expect for the rubbing alcohol (which I know I should use) but I don’t understand why they pop off. Not to mention they’re so hard to do! But the out condos worth it they’re so pretty. I’m going to keep practicing until I’m better at it!
