no shit right. the whole time I'm sitting here thinking which of my neighbor's low riders I should take but then I'm like wait why do that I'll just go buy my 2 year old son a cheap power wheel knock off and let him do it, and the cheap ones just like the four wheeler one I got him has one wheel drive.
I know he could and he walk up to the people in the Chevy afterwards with the plastic keys and drop them and say "owned" then walk away with a strut. He's kind of a little smartass with his daddy's attitude. Not to mention ahead of most kids his age. I've had people ask me if I lie about his how old he is.
That will be my next truck! I had planned to buy out my leased Colorado in a few months as it's been totally trouble free, tows extremely well with great mileage and power! But the ZR2 is just awesome!
danthebig__Z :v only if the diesel becomes available in the Ext Cab model would I consider it. Cause I feel the gas engine is very good to begin with! Plus the newer gas engine has more power and eight speed trans now. TFL has a video of a comparison of a gas vs. diesel Colorado, the gas was faster going up the Ike Gauntlet and had plenty of power, but the diesel did get better mileage and seems to be more relaxed and at lower rpm than the gas, on a long trip that is helpful. But we plan on doing a lot of traveling with our travel trailer in the near future. Even though the tow rating on the ZR2 is lower than the reg truck, my trailer still is no where near the limits at 4,000 lbs. We will be going to places that having the extra off road capability will be great, even though the Z71 has always brought us through! I just like the look, plus I'm sure a ZR2 will ride better in every circumstance. The only equipment I see that come with the ZR2, that is not conducive to a lot of hyw travel are the tires! I might need to get another set of wheels and tires with a more friendly hyw tread for comfort, quiet and over the road traction, for the long haul.
Oh I have a real fine truck! That goes, does and brings me when, where and how I want to go. With room for the wife and dogs, while towing our travel trailer anywhere we want to go. After a year and 16,00 trouble free miles, I know I have a real truck!
A year and 16,000 miles is nothing. 5 years and 60,000 miles is what you want to be saying like you get with the new diesel trucks. And for the price of the ZR2 you can get a 3/4 ton truck that can do you way more than a little colorado
locker vs lcd .. of course locker is the best because both differential both lock , lsd is only limited slip so any situation like a serious offroad it will stuck
It's a Chevy meaning the 5% who have not had a major breakdown will defend their piles of trash. Meanwhile the other 95% will scroll right past it and live in denial.
Such a well built truck 2 years later and it is still on top. Check out the new car and driver article. Jeep gladiator vs Ford ranger vs Tacoma vs ridge line. No spoilers here but all I'm gonna say such a well built truck.
Wow! I have no dog in the hunt, my pickup is a Ford. It s funny to see all the haters (I'm guessing toy fans since it s a midsize truck) losing their mind that a Chevy is doing better than their Toyotas. Why do people narcissistically have to believe what they have s better? Right now, objectively the zr2 is better than trd.
The slip rollers are placed in specific positions due to this vehicles dimensions, I'm an avid off road driver and enthusiast and trust me the terrain in real life is much harsher than that BS
Chevy needs to make a dedicated Colorado test vehicle because they looked like they did not want to brake it so they need one that can go as fast as possible
Give us back the S10 ZR2. Manual 6 cyl. Don't even change much about the exterior looks, just update the interior and make brand new ones just like that.
Who cares about the fullsuze market when you can have a light nearly 400hp truck with fantastic suspension. It would be so much fun. That's the only reason I would buy one, is with a 5.3
got a 30 year old truck bought for 500$ did just a little bit of work built it myself could wreck the hell out of this course. how much does this truck cost again? :P
If there still making this truck 5 to 7 years from now I will be the first to apologize and say I was wrong and may give this truck a hard look at buying
That suspension is absolutely amazing. DSSV dampers for the win.
Ford have better
No one knows how special DSSV are multimatic makes them in Canada 🇨🇦 used on ford GT
memeguel I’m a ford man and ford has nothin. Near the DSSV those are bad boys man fx4 has rancho shocks nothing compared to DSSV
@@louisbarningham ranger has Garbo suspension

Those aren't struts there shocks and leafs but idk might be the same thing🤔🤔🤔
My 87 year old father could navigate that course in his Pride Mobility Scooter.

Yeah to bad he wouldn’t make it probably die at the top
Finally a test track that a chevy can do that my Mazda 6 cant. I've waiting 10 years for this
2:33 behind the fence you can see what looks like the all new trailblazer or equinox.
The big test, can you handle a yard of topsoil?

Front Diff Lock? RIP Tacoma, RIP.
tacoma has Atrac? which is better than a locker or lsd
The best Colorado it has Front and rear locker than tacoma ,tacoma had a Limited slip differential but it comes to a mudd oh dead
locker vs lcd .. of course locker is the best because both differential both lock , lsd is only limited slip so any situation like a serious offroad it will stuck
Tacoma airbags dont just randomly go off..so there is that.
@@jak3est Uh no lol.
Wow, a truck doing truck stuff.
haters say its fake

Oh it's real....just nothing real special. They need to let me borrow that truck, i'll do things in it that they wouldn't.

My Road Tours and prove What?
insane man. the mini trucks are the size of full size pickups from just a few years ago. trucks are too dam big now.
Impressively driving over parking lot humps. Nice
The hood on the zr2 is sick. Lucky, it bolts right up to a stock (in my case) z71.
chevy is stepping up their game now
no they're not
Totally because my subaru forester totally can't do that
themechanic1887 red Not without aftermarket parts it can’t 😂
Yeah I agree. The American cars have gotten a lot better recently. They are still kinda crappy on the interior but they actually drive well
@@donovanmccary7430 all you need is a new pair of tires and you could easily get up there
I wish they'd put 60k real miles on them first so you can see how they perform when used
They perform good as new cause they are Chevys
2 years later, they're holding strong!
I drive one for work, 38k miles (yes its a fleet maintained) but it still runs flawless
Edit: 40k now, still holding up

Chevy nailed it with their midsized truck, I wish dodge would step up their game
Chevy makes the best Light duty pickups, toyota a close second
Roman Hamm || that thing is half a ton...
Clorox Bleach Its still considered light duty. Not hating bro I own a Colorado. Heavy duty is reserved for full size trucks. Have I seen you before?
maybe you've seen me but id say with the raptor ford would take that. #1 spot.
Clorox Bleach Oh for sure. Those raptors have really made a name for themselves over the years. I dont compare midsize trucks to fullsize.
Roman Hamm || oh yea, raptor is a Baja truck anyways, would love to own one. heard the new ones are gonna have some power
Wow an Offroad course made specifically for the zr2.
Nice, how did they get that chevy to run through the whole demo or did they edit out all the mechanical breakdowns?
Such a well built truck 2 years later and it is still on top. Check out the new car and driver article. Jeep gladiator vs Ford ranger vs Tacoma vs ridge line. No spoilers here but all I'm gonna say such a well built truck.
Actually a bit impressed but you can see that independent front just not talking to the ground. Still pretty good for a small truck in 4 doors.
Why did the camera go inside on the fast run weak

The front locker sealed the deal
Hi Greg thing is the Ford might just have some extra gears ( or (lady ) gears that is a secret until it's not a secret and the rest will be history
I'm a MOPAR guy but that's a sweet truck!
1:50 who else thought this truck looked cute, skipping through the course
Is this the truck that suffers from bent frames with light loads?
So, this is bigger that a 90's Silverado... why is everything getting so big? I'd love a new S10 / Ranger sized truck (they got 29mpg BTW)
I just saw a lowered 90's silverado and it looks more like a mini truck compared to today's trucks
29mpg i wish i get 15 in my ranget
Because americans keep getting bigger
Why isn't the test on dirt?
esta vendría a ser la S10 en Argentina verdad?
Where do I sign up for that job ?!
Thanks for the footage! Been looking for black crew cab zr2 video for a while now
Ever heard of a Ford Raptor?
My front struts and shocks went after three years of just hiway driving 😢
I got to ride in the cars when they do these test at the Houston car show!
Does it come 6speed manual
Cool, could you guys put that package on a Silverado Trail Boss please? That's all we're asking GM. ZR2 package... Silverado Trail Boss.
Can you put a stock Taco and Rubi on that and see how they all do?
Not as good as the chevy.
what's the engine size?
So is this the Bunny slopes? I'm gonna need those ramps raise a bit before I even consider taking my Raptor on that course.
Your raptor would not climb that unless you put an aftermarket locker in the front stupid.
They should put out a version where they do this same test with load in the bed
I just thought the wheels are small for this machine!
Similar presentation to the Camp Jeep exhibitions they do at car shows
813Productions yep. I agree. I was in one at the Minneapolis Auto show a few years ago. It was fun even though I don't really like jeeps.
I'd love a gn version with a trail boss, at4 and this
Its a neat little truck. I just hope they put this drive train under the new blazer and make that a good modern offroad crossover
it broke down at the end of the video
Wrong
Not tested in New Mexico reservation roads or back roads.
I like these Chives...America Vehicles, go GM, we love u, keep America great 🌟🌟🌟
My chevy colorado says made in Mexico!!!
gm is made in mexico fool
That's it?
And here I am driving to H-E-B to get groceries in my Zr2 😬
I would get the 3.6 liter V6 instead of the Duramax inline 4
Now do the track again with the BDS 5.5" coilover lift on it. Then we're talkin!
S-10 monstruosa?
I love Chevy trucks!
1:51 is it just me or does that test make you think of a dog prancing through a field?
i have yet to see it do something i haven't done in a 1998 honda crv
Let me take it thro the mountians and really test it love the zr2 but gonna go thro some real terrain
Seriously you took the S10 out of the zr2. For Colorado? Glass I ent to jeep. I had a 2000 zr2. I loved that truck. It's is the only Zr2 I recognize.
When is this gonna be recalled? Btw, I could do this full throttle in my 04 Forester no problem. Or any WRC car from any year.
Coming to a mall near your soon!
Sean Ashcraft that’s a Jeep
Jer C Cherokee is a joke these days the old manual straight 6 are true jeeps

Reece Chevy cares a lot about the full size market lol those Silverados are expensiveee a lot of profit
Gm put the 5. 3 in the 1st gen. Trucks aren't the same anymore. I have a 2004 colorado i5 crew cab, it's light as hell.
I know I’m way late but I’ve dropped a magnuson sc in my 2019 and it makes 440bhp. Great little truck!
But can it do that going 100?
No but nothing else can either
Something about the proportions is very off to my eyes
They should put the 5.3 in this
UPstater5.9 Downgrade in hp with worse fuel mileage
Daywalker_27 lol the 5.3 has more than the v6....
UPstater5.9 What does the 5.3 have?
Daywalker_27 it's the Silverado v8, more than this v6. Idk the exact numbers but I know it's more
UPstater5.9 3.6 currently has the most hp in the mid size class.

i might consider buying one if GM did not make most of it in china.
Cool looking truck, raptor still better however, the new Silverados are badass looking in black and the Zh2 thing looks to be amazing
Yo Boi the raptor literally costs twice as much. i would sure hope it'd be better
Dylan S the raptor starts at 50k, the zr2 starts at 40k, that's not double the price
Finding one under 70k is basically impossible with the markup, so it might as well be twice as much.
real impressive.... traversing a course designed for itself
at this rate of upgrading chevy might start making cars that fly. ford should copy them
Don't we already have boing to crash?

The Rado is superior to the Toy in every aspect. That's why I bought one.
