No way! I always struggle to create tables and this feature is awesome. You are correct. This saves a lot of time. Can we also link an excel table to word, cause that would be awesome.
I wanna link my Teeth and Kevin's Cookies. They are so tasty! Well, this is so similar to my reaction to having one of your cookies. It's gonna get in before you can think. "But wait, the magic is about to happen", got so curious...If there's something I want to learn from you it's everything. But then your storytelling is the next level. All excel videos I see are *boring* you make it so interesting. I'm loving this Kevin! More RUclips videos? Yaaay! Let's do this!!!
These instructions are very clear. There is only one problem. When you follow them, they don''t work. In case it's not clear. 'don't work' means you can follow the instructions exactly but changes to excel do not show up in ppt. The smiles and upbeat attitude are nice but it would be even nicer of the product worked with way MS says it's supposed to. Does anyone, smiley or not, have suggstions on how to make this work?
Kevin this is by far the best channel on RUclips I love all this new stuff! I wouldn't even know to ask for half of it as I didn't know it existed. Thank you and keep the knowledge flowing :-)
I felt this tutorial very useful to update the scores of teams after each round by entering into an excel sheet and linking into the powerpoint of the quiz. thanks a lot.
Impossible Kevin!😱 My teacher was telling me about this on Saturday and I asked him if it would Auto-update, but he said he was not sure (no joke, I actually wanted to know a few days back)🤔. And you uploaded a tutorial on it immediately🔥🔥! We all have to admit that Kevin has a 6th sense of reading minds🧠🔥! Thanks a LOAD and please continue making such helpful tutorials and you will soon reach THE BIG GUY (1 Million)🙏 Whoever thinks Kevin will get 1Million subs by September 15th 👇 (I definitely think he will!)
Nice Kevin. Using this, I wonder if the dashboard you showed in previous videos should be stored in a linked ppt instead of a dedicated sheet of the xls where all the data are, simply for the global look of this dashboard you may set up with all powerpoint assets. You didn't tell us about the xls location: I suppose this file cannot be moved cause you would break the link right? Does it work while in fullscreen presentation mode? This would allow you to bring another kind of animation of your presentation! Also, does this work with Word?
Thank you for the work is greatly appreciated! I am trying to start using MS Project with Planner and Share point... Knowing how those all interacted between them, will be amazing! Thanks again and keep up the great energy!
Wow, that's great feature! Thanks for sharing + your thumbnail is too looking awesome. Well, when you are going to post a video on how to make attractive looking thumbnail?
Hi Kevin, From what I noticed, when the PowerPoint slides are closed and everything needs to be "refreshed" by clicking on edit data, any way to ensure that even the PowerPoint slides are re-opened the data still can auto-update? Else I have to keep my data open for both excel and ppt to ensure the synchronization exists.
Hey Brother, I need help regarding this. I think you have seen some Top 10 type video where graph moves dynamically like 2010, 2011, 2012 what was the data. Is it possible to do same in Powerpoint?
Great video Kevin as usual. You are on you way to 1 million subscribers!!! Go Kevin go!!! You are my #1 virtual PROFESSOR @ RUclips University regarding expanding my productivity skills with software. Cheers, Mario from Costa Rica.
Thank you bro for the Tips....already subscibe and will support the channel..Hope god will give you the rewards coz of this tutorial realy helps a lots..
I followed your instructions for inserting data from Excel into Powerpoint and it works as expected UNTIL I actually present the Powerpoint. Once in presenter mode, changing the Excel data dies nothing in Powerpoint. Help please.
Hi Kevin, thanks for this very useful tutorial! A question I'd like to ask, let's say I have a very long table to load to ppt and it requires 2-3 sheets for this long table, how to put this long table on those ppt sheets and can this table still connected to one another page on ppt? Thanks!
Thanks Kevin. The whole “Excel to PowerPoint” path still feels a bit inelegant to me. What would be really helpful is having a “template link” so I could save and retain monthly iterations of Excel and PowerPoint links and keep them independent of one another. I would simply reuse the template to creat another month. Make sense? This has been a thorn in my side for a long time. Creating decks for upper management from our source workbooks takes way too much time. Any thoughts?
Hi Kevin, do we have option to link Excel in cloud or web to PowerPoint. So when someone makes any changes to Excel, table/chart in PowerPoint also gets updated
I have the problem that I can only link one table not two, as soon as I want to paste another table the excel crashes. and also if I update the excel data it does not update in powerpoint. only if I double click on the table in powerpoint it opens another excel file that seemes to be embedded and here it does update. please help :)
Hi Kevin Thank you for all you Videos, really helpful. I love Pivot Charts because I could use different filters. Can I place Pivot Charts in PPt and use the filters?
I have a MAC and I don't see the link options you show at 4:12 "Keep Source Formatting & Link Data" - Is there a work around for this for MAC Powerpoint? I have been able to copy/paste my Excel charts but they do not stay linked when I email the Ppt to my team. Help.
Hi Kevin, thanks for sharing these tips. Problem with Pasting Link is that the formatting is not that good although data is auto updated once excel data is updated. Problem with second option is that if a ppt has tons of charts then one has to refresh all the charts one by one, which makes it unfeasible. Although the chart looks great if we go for this option.
Serious comment this time : what you explain is only half the equation, how to save time when building the presentation, which is great and useful. But now I want to share an instance of the presentation that is locked in time, and I also need to archive it as auditable evidence. What’s the best way to do so ? How to avoid slides from previous quarters to be updated automatically when I look at them in the future ?
Kevin what if I had created a text box within the graph which shows the sum of values.. these remain still and doesn't change according to the change in excel values. Can you please suggest a fix for that 🥺 Many thanks! You rock!🤘
Hello, Thank you for the video. Its very helpful. I have one question. If I email the powerpoint as an attachment, do I have to include the excel or will powerpoint remember the last time data was updated?

Have a question. It worked great for files on desktop but did not for files on sharepoint / onedrive. Any pointers? Thanks

On Mac there seems to be no option for paste link. The powerpoint does not update when the excel changes. Any ideas?
Bump- same question for mac users
Yes, buy a windows machine.

Is it possible to go to 'edit links' and break the link for the quarterly file that you want to keep static?
