Speed Building on Guitar

This is my starting point following ‎@Bernthguitar speed building exercise. I have always felt that my electric guitar speed is lagging. I am beginning this guitar exercise to build speed over time.
This guitar exercise follows the chromatic scale to work all fingers across the neck.

Try and clean up your pick grip a little bit. You see how it's sorta bouncing away from the strings? Try and get rid if that, so its just a side to side movement. I had that problem for months and once I fixed it my top speed shot up from 100 bpm 16th notes to like 140 bpm

*picking motion, not pick grip, sorry. I suppose you might benefit from changing your pick grip, but that's a little less objective
