Well, like any gun, there's no such thing as pointless. It's mostly about the fun for the one using it. If you mean useful in combat situations, however, this is one of the most impractical things ever devised. No surprise it only found fame because of a show. And I'm saying that as someone that'd love to own it! Just don't pretend it's useful.
Paul Jennings What'd you mean? This is a section 1 firearm in the UK. Granted the legislation did not specifically prohibit pistols, but it did ban "short cartridge firearms".
i just bout one yesterday and disappointed to say it is defective... it will not put a round in the chamber. it jams them up in the corner of the breach and then the gun has to be dismantled to safely get the now messed up round out. and i did buy a henry golden-boy and out of the factory as well it also was defective. it was key stoning the bullets. so the barrel was not working. they took that one back and destroyed it. so this is my second henry. i dont think i will be buying any of there product soon. :( so yes the mares leg is going back next week. and i wanted that gun for over 3 years now. my rossi ranch hand .44 mag. mares leg is awsome though.
Why is the guy in the range shooting like that? He manages to make a cool gun look lame shooting one handed, then trying to switch hands to use the lever. Its a rifle body, so why not use it as designed so we can see why lever guns are cool?
I just ordered one and I know the front sight height might be a problem. When I stop the video at 2:00 and look at the front sight it looks like you could stick a credit card under it. I hope my front sight doesn't fit like that.
The Henry "rifle" version of this "handgun" is SUCH a great firearm, why'd you EVER want one of these? I get the feeling the guy demonstrating was the very same thing ...
It looks cool but it has no practical use and here's why let's say you put six rounds in the tube in Holes you pull the trigger you got a cocktail lover it's hard cocks and lever with one hand we can get nothing to hold it with now a pistol you're fired you're fired you pull the hammer back cylinder terms every time you pull the hammer back to seller and returns you can do that with one hand
Guy doesn't seem to be having much fun shooting it... lol
+Pres. Comacho Because this is 22 cal. replica ...
22 cal. = boring experience
Well he is shooting the least impressive caliber
Because it's a .22....
Pres. Comacho Cuz he's murican, sh0otin' guns is everyday routine.
@@mihaildimitrov3870 not true at all .22 is one of the funnest mainly because it's so cheap.
i love the way that gun looks
I also, want one
They say this gun is pointless but to be honest if used properly like any pistol it can be very useful
+Carlo Cevallos it is a hand gun...

agreed. but if you can turn the lever and shoot with your one arm that will be awesome.
I have never seen someone work a lever gun like that
The Mare's Leg is simply a fun gun to shoot. Nothing else like 'em.
I need one of these for open carry on a hip holster
Ironically, this is legal in the UK because its NOT a pistol.

Paul Jennings 30cm barrel, 62 cm overall length, I believe these do meet that requirement. I've certainly seen them for sale in gun shops.
Paul Jennings Erm, what do you mean? I think we're having two different conversations here.
same for canada
Nox Aternum California and New York too.
"WANTED, DEAD OR ALIVE"👍🏻😎
Can someone tell the guy shooting that its ok for him to crack a smile?
Lol thats some poker face xD
You got that right.
Josh Randall would be proud!
want one
From the screenshot shown it seems that they completely removed the barrel so there is only about an inch of external barrel
How much
Why would you fire it one-handed but not spincock it?
Are these side or angle eject?

Love the Henry's.... All of them
I've been a leather toilet, egg etcher... .. Guess it's time to etch a rifle!
There are always bad apples in a barrel, but not all are.... Try again...
I hate spell check... Leather tooler .... It almost did it again
In Canada, it's a rifle. In the U.S. it's a handgun.
How comfortable is it to shouldering that thing?
From who I’ve talked to, not super uncomfortable but not stable, mostly I wouldn’t shoulder it but when necessary it’s not bad
Just bought one in Canada. Non restricted. Not a pistol.
This actually works with a Winchester 1873
Want

I'll just take my Rossi ranch hand for half the price
The gun's smallness is accentuated by this man's big, doughy hands

Can you carie the hand gun
I wanna see him flip it
Sounds like an Ash from the end of Army Of Darkness movie reference
Seems to have little kickback

Who cycles a lever action like that?
Weird
Do people actually use the lever like that?
Shoulda used the higher caliber version, of course a .22 is gonna be lame
Ok
I don't like the way the guy is shooting it with one hand. like, that is a way you could use it, but the way he reloads it kind of annoys me.
bf4
As much as these things sell for, you might as well get an actual lever action rifle.
Tommy TwoGun I found it on a sight for $370
You miss the point. It’s the look of it that is attractive.
Couldn’t get past the stupid music. Sons of the Pioneers would have been better

This video shows this as a ridiculous looking gun to shoot in .22 cal. What a waste.
does not seem very useful just a novelty
.
Victor Lockhoff the Henry pistols are fun I own one they are great the flyer check one out by 1 you'll see
get it in a 44 mag or a 45/70 as a guide gun
Piss poor video. The technical advantages of such a gun especially for self defense 100% absent. Instead a brief lecture more about a TV show
