MSRP is $474 and the Heritage website says they’re shipping now! I want one
😂😂 just buy a real one! Henry quality is so far above taurus
You can get them south of $370
It's great to see Allen again. Thank you for the fascinating history of the Mare's Leg!
Amazing ! another choice when It comes to the Mares Leg
I got the henry, i dont get why the mares leg costs more than the rifle version.
Unique and functional. I have a feeling it will be popular for plinkers and folks who might want a compact firearm to tote around on a SXS.
Several months ago, I was trying to decide between a Ruger single action revolver, or a Heritage single action. I went with the Ruger ONLY because of name recognition. It was fine, plastic grips, but it worked. But it sure did NOT have that old-fasioned cowboy look. But then I also got the Heritage as well. Oh man. MUCH better. And it LOOKED like an old cowboy gun. So I sold the Ruger, and got another Heritage revolver. And as soon as I can afford it, I'm getting one of these Mares as well.
Saw this video 2/9/24. Walked into a gun store 2/10/24 & they had one on display. Needless to say it was purchased. I really like the rustic look. Any suggestions on a possible holster? I’ve read comments that is nothing like a Henry (I have a Henry Axe) & I get that but every gun is unique in its own way. Really enjoy the videos !!
I need it all black with black stock, a silencer and in 22 MAG
Mare's Leg is for fun. For use if you put a laser on the front it can be hip fired.
I've found that if you place the "little stock" on your cheek, you can hit like you're shooting a rifle. I have 2 Henry's (22LR & 357 Mag). They're a blast!
Great Video 💯💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
that "color case hardening" is rough. I know they are doing this on the cheap chemically but I would have rather seen just standard bluing instead. otherwise overall fit and finish looks really good, especially the wood finish is surprisingly good. saw the wood on the new rossi trapper and that is rough (both owned by Taurus Holdings Inc.). they need one with a side loading gate. personally, I prefer a lever gun in a heavy hitting pistol caliber like .44 magnum or .357 magnum (or maybe even .327 magnum to a lesser extent) in a carbine or rifle configuration to pair with a revolver but I guess if you are into a mare's leg in .22 this could fit the bill. good review as always. Allen is always a pleasure to watch talking about guns.
Yes please in 223
Not too many tube magazine guns running spitzer cartridges, for good reason. Henry Long Ranger is your only real option as far as I know.
How's the quality compared to the Henry mares leg?
Do you even have to ask? It's from taurus it's worthless!
@@nunya1328
That's a very bias opinion.
I've owned several Taurus firearms that were decent and reliable.
Unless you have real world experience with this firearm...
It's just an opinion.
Stay safe and healthy.
Peace
@redzone1019 I have and have owned several, more than I ever should have. Taurus is worthless! Their quality control is worthless, their gunsmiths are worthless, they ruin every company they get their hands on .... so, from real life experiences ... Taurus is worthless.
@@nunya1328 I found the gun snob! 😂
It looks much better than Henry 22lr Mares Leg.
Interesting.
Anyone have advice on best way to clean this mares leg? I’m new to guns. Want to make sure I’m doing it correctly. Thanks
Best way is to check your owners manual. They usually tell you step by step.
@@dbc1dc Appreciate the reply. I got a Bore Boss & that worked great. Thanks Again
Looks good except the orange receiver is rather strange.
22 mag coming ?
Bigger cal. please !!!
I want a rancher carbine in something bigger😔
About $450
It's not like I wouldn't have one, but at $485 MSRP... no thanks. I got my Henry Mare's Leg 22LR at a cheaper price (brand new, of course). I thought it would be worth buying another one due to a typical Heritage price point. Guess I was wrong.
That’s msrp. Gunbroker has them priced the same as the Henry 22 mares leg. The quality probably isn’t the same but we will just have to wait until more people get their hands on them to know for sure. I get the impression Heritage is trying to step into that mid-tier gun market with these. I have a rough rider with adjustable sights. Even though it’s priced as a budget gun, the quality would be acceptable for a mid-tier gun so I think they are capable.
They are 370 local in Montana
And looks much better than Henry.
Looks an offal like my rossi lever action. And they are both owned by Taurus.
Only a fool would pay $500 for that.
Can't argue with you on THAT!
You're right because they are $360 or so on gunbroker
