I had no idea they were owned by Taurus. Gives me a bit more confidence actually!

Rough Rider and Barkeep owner here. Love them - from the quality, to the customizations, the authenticity, performance, and really important to me, is the friendliness of the platform for new shooters, along with seasoned shooters. Don't mean to sound cornball, but this is really how I feel. I've got grandkids and I like these more than my other guns for their intro to shooting.

Just wish they'd get rid of that silly safety.

Rough Riders are great revolvers, but, the plastic on the ejector rod needs to be replaced with metal.

Explain to me why a single action revolver needs a safety. Sounds like Alec Baldwin saying that he didn’t pull the trigger.

This IS NOT a video about how the Heritage revolver is made. No. This is a Taurus commercial.

I recently bought a Rough Rider combo, but the WMR cylinder was grossly defective; it never could have passed a simple visual inspection. Then, I bought the Taurus Tracker 992. The transfer bar broke after only a few dozen rounds fired. Repair will take over 8 weeks. It took nearly 3 months for Heritage to replace the WMR cylinder. Poor quality control, slow customer service and unreliable manufacturing processes. I think I'll go with S&W on my next gun purchase. Two out of two is not a good failure ratio. 😢

If I could change one thing about the heritage it would be a safty less model.

I am almost 79 years old and recently bought my first revolver. I was going buy several years ago but one of my renters talked be into semi autos. My first revolver, a Heritage Rough Rider with a 4.75" barrel and I love it. The grips came pre-scuffed, so now I wish I would have bought the other one the gun shop had with the wooden grips, I can always re-do wooden grips.

The customization of these guns with interchangeable cylinders, grips, and even bird's head grip frames, is pretty dang cool! Really love my Barkeep. Looking forward to seeing the line expanded with more larger caliber options.

The first modification I did to mine was remove that safety. Not needed with a half cock function. The second mod was to fix a nub on the hammer, preventing a solid striking surface and causing impact marks on the receiver. And the third mod was to increase tension on the hammer spring to fix light primer strikes. For $150, I'm not complaining too much, but for a gun that misfired 2/3 shots and a $60 shipping fee, it simply was not worth sending back to the company and the mods were easy enough to do with a dremel, a shim and a screwdriver.

I got one several years ago and it's awesome. There's literally tons of handle options too. I was hesitant to get one at first but it was such a good deal that I took a chance and it worked out.

I have 2 with long rifle and magnum cylinders. I've put hundreds of founds through them with No issues at all. No way can you find a better revolver for the price . Love them.

I have the Heritage revolver 22lr - 22mag, also have the TAURUS JUDGE 45lc/410 revolver, and the Rossi single shot 22lr rifle/ 410 combo . Love shooting all three firearms, all three are well made, and very easy to shoot, very accurate . Will be buying more firearms from all three brands very satisfied with the quality.

I have the Heritage Rough Rider in "6.5 and "4.75 and they're both amazing. I bought the "6.5 first, fired 3 shots and the cylinder cracked. Heritage had it resolved within the week. I then bought a 22 mag cylinder and a "4.75 and they both run perfectly. I'm so happy with Rough Rider and now I'm even more impressed with Heritage knowing they have Taurus behind the name.

Own a Taurus mod 66, blued 6" target 357... Amazingly accurate at 40yds. Also a Rossi mod m971 357, 4"bbl. Circa 1990. And have had many Rough Riders. All great guns.
